About this property
Rocko's Cottage Nestled in the Heart of Downtown Bar Harbor
Rocko's Cottage is located on a side street in the downtown area of the beautiful island town of Bar Harbor. We are pet friendly for your well mannered four legged friends. Rocko was actually our 7 lb Dorkie. (Dachshund/Yorkie)
You will be within walking distance of over 25 restaurants ranging from fine dining to family fare. Bicycle rentals, kayaking trips, and unique shops galore are all just minutes away from your front door and yes we can tell you which of these places welcome pets. Walk the shore path or across a natural sand bar (actually a glacial deposit) to visit beautiful Bar Island. Never have to worry about parking your car or enjoying a cocktail and then driving.
Rocko's Cottage was built in 2005 and is tastefully and comfortably furnished. You will find everything that you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities of life, and the linens are all in good condition. The open floor plan actually makes our cottage appear much larger inside. It must be noted that the bathroom does not have a tub but does have a nice 4 ft. shower and for your convenience there is a stackable washer and dryer. This is a great house and location for people that travel with pets or just one or two couples or a small family that want to stay in the heart of town. Once you visit us you will be sure to return again and again.
We, the owners, live locally and we are always only a phone call away if there is a problem. Welcome to our home and enjoy your stay....

We had a great stay, the house was very comfortable and clean. The hosts were great and right next door if we needed anything. The location was perfect also, just a short walk to everything in Bar harbor.
This was our third time staying at Rocko's cottage and we are at the point that we really don't wish to stay anywhere else when we are visiting MDI! The cottage suits our needs perfectly, with its proximity to downtown Bar Harbor and more importantly as a launch pad for all of our hiking adventures in the National Park. The kitchen was perfect for our simple dinners (in between lobster roll lunches), the living room suitable for winding down after hard days of hiking, and the bed comfortable. Thank you again, Lisa and Rick, for your hospitality. I hope we have the chance to stay again!

Great Experience!
Property was the perfect size for 4 people, plenty of space, fully stocked kitchen and bath. Great location, walking distance to down town Bar Harbor.
I have enjoyed all the VRBO's I've stayed at, but this was the best. The home was incredibly clean and very comfortable. It was supplied with everything we needed and more. The host was easy to communicate with and left a lot of valuable information about restaurants and activities for us to go through. We didn't know how to work something on the TV and Lisa and Rick stopped over within 10 minutes of my text to show us what to do. They are both very nice and helpful. The house is located 5 munutes from the square in Bar Harbor. We walked to all the shopping and restaurants. We only needed our car to get out to Acadia.
We just finished our 2 weeks at the house and everything was great. The house is in a perfect location for everything you want to do in Bar Harbor/ Acadia - short walk to the Shuttle, restaurants & shops. The owners, Lisa and Rick are great and are there if you need them. Definitely recommend.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. By far the best rental we have ever had the pleasure of calling home for a week. Impeccably clean, quality and comfort throughout, quiet neighborhood yet easily walkable to the center of town, hosts are welcoming and respond quickly to any questions you may have. Stop scrolling and stay here.
Myself, my daughter, my niece and her husband stayed here last week! It’s a very nice and fully equipped house! We had plenty of room and the entire house was spotless! Everything was so clean and beautifully decorated! Great location as we could walk to town for meals, for bike rental and even our boat tour! The owners are very nice as well! I loved staying here and would definitely stay again! Exceeded my expectations!
This house was perfect for our family of 4. The house is cute and clean and has all the basics, making a longer stay easy (cooking supplies, laundry, etc.). The location is great because you are right outside the bustle of Bar Harbor but everything is an easy walk including downtown shops and the Shore Path (which is also helpful because you never have to pay to park). Also the park is right there so it’s also a great place to access all park points. We would totally go back!

Quaint and cozy
Lisa and Rick both make you feel like you belong there. The furnishings are lovingly cared for, the pictures and art work are warm and attractive, not at all pretentious. The two bedrooms have ample closet space and quite comfortable beds with extra blankets for chilly nights. Overall it is clean and neat; a place to come back to after a day exploring Acadia National Park, put your feet up and enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine.
A small propane grill and glass top table sit beside the home and is shaded for a comfortable evening meal.
The downtown of Bar Harbor is a few blocks away and easily walkable. Access to the Shore Path is across Main St and down Hancock Street. A lovely cafe for morning coffee/pastries sits on the corner of Main and Hancock. A short 3 minute walk from the front door.
The owners are just across the gravel drive and available by phone.
Rocko's Cottage is a great place to stay and use as a base for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia.
The Cottage was wonderful and we highly recommend it. The location is perfect - you can easily walk down historic Main Street for restaurants and shops. You’re only a 10 minute drive from Acadia and other great adventures. The Cottage was very clean and many “extras” including a washer-dryer (makes packing easier), extra towels and poop bags for dogs, white noise machines in the bedrooms (it’s quiet so you don’t need them, but it’s a nice touch) and comfortable beds (we appreciated having a king). Lisa and Rick are very nice and live next door in case you need anything.
excellent location for relaxed holiday; clean and neat with everything we needed including beach towels and well equipped kitchen; perfect for walking into town and along the shore.
Property is ideal for a couple or small family. Located off Main Street in Bar Harbor, it was perfect for walks to restaurants, shops, the Shore Path or anything else in the downtown area and also minutes away from Acadia National Park. The place was really clean and had all the basics needed for the week. The owners, Lisa and Rick, made check in easy and were quick to respond to questions. As others have said, this house is a hidden gem in Bar Harbor. I would definitely book again if I ever go back and I truly wish we could have stayed a little longer.
Perfect cottage in a great location. Host has thought of all the little details that make you feel at home. Walking distance to downtown and a short drive to Acadia National Park.
Everything was just as listed. We enjoyed our stay at this location very much.
