Nisqually Beauty

The cabin was incredible. We loved the spaciousness of it. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. The place was clean, beds were comfortable, water pressure is shower was great. It was so close to the Mt Rainier entrance, it was a breeze getting into the park. It was exactly as advertised and we would definitely stay again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very spacious, clean and comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen/house. Tap water was refreshing/great for drinking - so nice not to have to but bottled. Enjoyed our beautiful evening walks along the river a black away and great location to Mt Rainier entrance. Enjoyed close by casual restaurants. Just make sure to stock up at grocery store as none close by (small convenient store is)

Beautiful cabin in the best location

We had the best time during our stay! The house is beautiful and PERFECTLY located literally a minute from the Nisqually entrance. It’s well equipped with everything you need- kitchen supplies, bedding, even sticks for s’mores by the bonfire. The host is super responsive and we loved the contactless check in /check out process. We had the best stay.

Great spot

Awesome experience overall. The owners where very communicative and had all the information we needed before we even got to the home. The location is awesome and is less then a mile from the park. I would come here again if we came back to Rainer. The house rules where also very easy to follow.

Great Place to stay

We've stayed here a few times. It's well equipped (kitchen, toys, etc.) and clean. Quiet neighbourhood. There are some minor things (the gas fireplace thermostat works fine but is a little tricky to learn; some of the light switches are in strange places). Nothing that should keep anyone from staying here. We wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

A Wonderful Place

We had a great stay at Buchanan's Bunkhouse. Christy was quick to respond, thoughtful, and left everything we needed to make things smooth for us and our three small children. The A-frame jacuzzi was awesome and all the beds and pillows were so comfy, too (even the futons)! The house truly was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare and serve beautiful meals. My little girls declared, "we love it!" the minute we walked in. Such a fun place to unwind and visit with friends in between hikes on Mount Rainier!!!

We loved it!

My family stayed here for a spring break getaway, and my 4 small kids (ages 2-7), husband, sister and I all loved it. It was clean, spacious, excellent location, well-stocked, and comfortable. The restaurant-style wooden high chair and the tub of magnetics were nice surprises, and the gas potbelly stove kept the house toasty in the cool mornings (and we appreciated the gate around it for safety). The hot tub was very relaxing and we used it daily, and my kids loved all the space to run around outside. We all loved the short walk to the river to play, or just walking around the nice quiet neighborhood, and it was so convenient to have such a short drive into the park. It was also only a few minutes to Copper Creek where we were able to eat out one night. Would recommend anyone to stay here, and would stay again!

Buchanan’s Bunkhouse

Buchanan’s Bunkhouse was just incredible! The location was perfect for our hiking group, as it was just outside the main gate to Mt Rainier Paradise Trailhead. Christy works hard to provide all that you need in this 3 bedroom log home/cabin. It is fully stocked with everything you need except food & drinks. Two Master Suites with a shared bath & jacuzzi tub upstairs. Downstairs you will find a nice bunk room, bathroom, tv lounge area, huge kitchen & 3 person bar and an incredible large wooden table that can easily seat 8-10. has an incredible outdoor area & covered saltwater hot tub. Love it! Best stay yet!

Perfect location

We loved our stay at this property. The location was perfect! You’re right at the entrance of the park. The house was much larger than we expected which is always a good surprise to have. Everything we needed was available! Kids sure enjoyed the popcorn maker :) Only negative for use was the mattress being way too soft. I wish there would have been a way to remove the very thick topper. But that’s really a matter of preference so can’t complain to much. They kids bedroom is great with the double bunk bed. Note that it’s very dark on there so if you need a night light, bring one :) Highly recommend this property!

Great location!

Our family of 4 stayed at the Bunkhouse on the second part of our trip to Washington. It is just outside the southwest entrance to Mt. Rainer National Park, which was super convenient in accessing the Paradise area. The place is spacious with a full kitchen and laundry. The hot tub felt amazing after long days of hiking. There was a no burn ban in place while we were in WA and did not get the chance to have a fire but the setting looks perfect! There are 3 bedrooms. Our oldest son originally slept in the second master bedroom but then decided to share the bunk room with his brother the last couple of nights of the trip. Grocery options are limited in the area so I recommend stocking up before you get into town. This was one of the first times we could drink tap water from a rental which was great as it helped us avoid plastic bottles. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area!

Great place to stay

The Bunkhouse was a blast, probably the best place to stay if you want to enjoy the National Park. Christy was great and easy to work with, if you decide to stay here I recommend contacting her early about getting a massage with her friend Kathleen, she was great and it was totally worth it. It is important to recognize that at peak periods the wait to get in to Mount Rainer can be several hours long, staying here you can sleep in eat a quick breakfast and still get to the park before the line gets long because it takes less than 2 minutes to get there. We got to the park early and were able to get back to the house early. The one draw back to being so close during peak periods is that you are kind of stuck at the house. On Sunday morning we went to Paradise did a hike, went to Narada falls had lunch, and were back to the house by 2:00, the line to get get into the park and thus into the house from the west didn’t dye down until after 4:00 thus we couldn’t go into town to shop or get anything from a store without waiting in the park line to get back to the house. Overall this was an excellent place to stay and we had a blast.

Great Location near Mt Ranier

We traveled with my in-laws and our 2 daughters (11yo and 9yo.) You can’t beat the location for this house. You are a 1 minute drive to Mt Rainer’s entrance! The house seemed older but was in good condition. It had everything we needed and the hot tub “cabin” is a great idea especially considering how much it rains in that part of the country. The small grocery stores are helpful but don’t plan on having the options you are used to. We tend to cook for ourselves at VRBOs, but there are some really amazing restaurants in the area. I would encourage you to do those for dinners! Our favorite was Wildberry which is a Nepalese restaurant owned by a Sherpa who holds the record for the fastest ascent of Mt Everest. He and his sons run the place and it was one of the best meals of our Washington trip! The only “heads up” on the house is that there is only 1 shower. The other bathroom has a massive tub so if you are into baths, you will be in heaven. We would stay here again when we come back to the area.

Loved the fact this place was right at the entrance to Mt. Rainier. When visiting national parks and hiking all day it's nice to not have a long drive back to where you are staying. Also the hot tub was a nice bonus to relaxing in after a long day of hiking.

The cabin is wonderful, clean, and well designed for our family group. With lots of fans for warm weather, we were very comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed, as are the bathrooms. We never used the hot tub, but it looked very nice. We went up to Paradise Mt. Rainier everyday, and being so close to the Nisqually entrance was a real luxury. We hope to stay there again!
We had a great time playing games around this table and sharing a few meals in this beautiful space!
