Quaint lake cottage located on a channel connecting to Magician Lake in Sister Lakes, Michigan. The property is located at the mouth of Polk Channel, a mile-long waterway excavated in the 1950's, running from Magician Lake through Viewpoint Beach...surrounded by pines and hardwoods that have been growing for a century or more. The cottage is perfect for a family vacation, or couples trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If in the area, please contact for a tour. Fish off the dock, swim and boat on the lake. Wi-Fi available. Air Conditioned.
The property is perfect for an autumn get-a-way. Enjoy a campfire on a cool fall evening, kayak the mile-long Polk channel, walk through the woods to view the colorful fall leaves, participate in the many wine-tasting activities sponsored by local wineries, shop in quaint, but bustling, Dowagiac, attend a University of Notre Dame football game in South Bend, IN, carve a jack-lantern from a pumpkin provided by Viewpoint Beach Resort management! The cottage is heated; you will be warm and cozy on a cold night after a busy, fun fall day in the country.
We have three cottages next to each other... Frog Hollow, Turtle Cove and Herons Nest...perfect for a group retreat, a reunion or a get-a-way with a group of friends!

Beautiful area, communicative and accommodating hosts, lovely spacious clean house and comfortable beds. Everything we needed in the kitchen was available so we were able to relax and have nice meals together. There is boat access about a mile up the road and a dock in the backyard on the channel to park the boat. There were pontoon boats available for rent so we were able to take a group of family members out onto the lake for fishing, swimming, and a relaxing ride. This was our second Labor Day weekend staying here and it was just as lovely as the first year!

The cabin was very clean. 1 queen bed 6 twin beds. I felt it was a good value. Nice back deck. Nice appliances and kitchen. It is on a small creek leading to the lake. Which is very close.

Peaceful long weekend

Our family had such a nice time here! Close enough to Dowagiac to be convenient, but out ebough to be perfectly peaceful. The lake and channel were great, the hosts accommodating, and the house we clean and spacious. I would definitely book here again! We had a good time just lpumging outside, fishing off the dock, and taking our little boat out.

Nice weekend getaway

Always enjoy spending time on Magician Lake. It's beautiful and never over crowded. We always rent the pontoon boat to go on sandbar or fishing. Love to sit by the bonfire at night.

We love Turtle Cove!

We had a wonderful stay at Turtle Cove and on Magician lake! The house was perfect for our two families. Hilda was lovely and accommodating as always! The property is beautiful and we have so much fun hanging out in the yard and on the lake. We always enjoy our stay here! We will be back next year!

Good location on the channel with boat dock. I liked having the pontoon delivered there for us. Hostess knew we were getting in late and turned the lights on for us which was very welcoming. I woukd stay here again!

Family 4th of July

House was perfect for our family 4th holiday. The channel was fun to explore with our kayaks. The backyard and deck were wonderful for relaxing. And having access to the lake was a nice bonus. Wonderful and relaxing views. Owners were very responsive. Everything we hoped for and more!

This property has been in the family since 1910. The land was originally used as a grain farm but after its purchase by Edmund R. Polk and his wife Agnes, with their five children, developed the land into a summer resort called Viewpoint Beach Resort.

Why they chose this property

This property has a wide appeal for those who seek a real American summer experience. Swimming, sunbathing, boating and family bonfires help to make a memorable time at the lake. Area attractions and shopping in Dowagiac, Niles and St. Joseph add to the family fun!

What makes this property unique

Turtle Cove has a wide-open kitchen/living area that is conducive to family gatherings. The pier on the channel provides mooring for your boat or a rental boat. Tha natural beauty of the land and water, plus the spaciousness of the yard, make it a perfect get-a-way.
Because 3 cottages are adjacent to one another (Frog Hollow, Turtle Cove and Herons Nest), the setting is perfect for family reunions, wedding parties and large gatherings of friends. Plenty of parking for vehicles available.
