"Longview": FLX Lakefront Cottage w/Beachfront, Dock & Complimentary FLX Wine!

Lakefront Cottage on Cayuga Lake with the most beautiful long view of Cayuga Lake, in the center of it all! Located on the west shore of Cayuga Lake, 20 miles north of Ithaca, in the exclusive Sheldrake Area!!

As the name suggests, our guest house features the longest and one of the most beautiful views of any property on Cayuga Lake's western shore.

Lakefront with beachfront (over 100 ft.) and 2 docks. Great swimming area with gradual, sloping water level. Water shoes are recommended.

Huge decking area at beachfront with Steel Wood Burning Fire Pit, and adirondack chairs. Use of 2 (mint!) stand-up paddleboards, kayak, canoe, paddle boat and life jackets.

Longview Cottage, a lakefront cottage located in heart of the Cayuga and Seneca Lake Wine Trails, is around the corner from Sheldrake Point Winery, O'Malley's Restaurant and Wycoff Farmstand (the best fresh fruits and vegetables!), 7 minutes from downtown Ovid, 10 minutes from Trumansburg and Taughannock Falls State Park, 20 minutes north of Ithaca, 15 minutes from Seneca Lake and 30 minutes from Watkins Glen.

Longview features a lovely, air conditioned 2-bedroom cottage. Gas grill on large front deck with dining area.

There is plenty of off-street parking for your cars and boats. Must use steps to access beach and dock area. Boat launch around the corner provides easy boat access to Cayuga Lake.

Cottage is fully furnished and stocked, including bedding and towels, soaps, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, etc. Full bath with shower. Fully equipped kitchen area, including refrigerator, stove. microwave, toaster, coffee maker, coffee filters, dishes and utensils, condiments, tupperware, paper towels, garbage bags, ziplocs, etc.

Air-conditioned with ceiling fans in every room.

Beautiful front and backyard areas -- great for ball playing, Frisbee, or star gazing.
Internet, Satellite TV and DVD player.

Wireless Internet access.
One queen bed, two twin beds.
Gas grill on large front deck with dining area.
All supplies are provided.
Paved driveway and parking area.

Cute cottage. Loved the dock and location. Perfect place to relax in between hiking and exploring. Would stay again. The water stayed very calm in this little cove where the dock and beach was. There are a lot of steps to get down there which could be a barrier to anyone with mobility issues.

The cottage was wonderful, better than we remembered from our last stay a couple years ago. Small but enough from for the 4 of us. Lots of outside space. We loved eating outside listening to the birds, watching the bunnies with a view of the lake. The paddle boards and tubes were a big hit. The owner thought of everything!

Longview Cottage was the perfect place for a weekend annoversary getaway! Cute small place located just down a long driveway from the lake. Each morning was perfect sitting dockside with a cup of coffee! Location was a short drive to hiking at Taughannock Falls and Watkins Glen. And many wineries close by!! Perfect place!

We had a nice time ( in spite of the rainy weather). The view was beautiful sitting down on the dock at night. We went candlepin bowling at Atlas Bowl, and had dinner there also.

We had a wonderful week at Longview. Kayaking, swimming, biking, hiking, and enjoying all that Cayuga Lake has to offer. Marla is a wonderful host and we hope to return again!

August get away

We stayed for 5 nights at the Longview rental. Marla the owner is wonderful and very good with communication. The cottage is cozy, and we made dinner in the kitchen / grill on porch every night. Dock was great to hang out on and enjoy the sun and water. Beautiful scenic view. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for the great get away. Right in the middle of Cayuga wine country.

Loved Longview Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Longview Cottage! It was a peaceful respite, with beautiful private beach views. The cottage is cozy and was perfect for my husband and me. It is close to some amazing state parks and the nearby roads are great for biking and walking. The local wineries are also terrific. And the owner, Marla, is very personable and responsive to all questions. She also welcomes you with a complimentary bottle of local wine. I highly recommend this rental!

What a sweet cottage! Host is a class act! Great communication, genuinely concerned about our stay, and well being and gives so much care and attention! Lovely cottage, with drive up access. Beach is down the lane, with a great dock. My daughter and I sat in the Adirondack chairs and she painted watercolors of the sunsets and water. The swimming is just magical. We stayed in August and the water was warm and clear! Cottage is sweet. Great for good rest and family games in the evening! Cottage is clean and has everything you need for a restful getaway! You don't even need to pack sheets and towels. They are provided! I hope we get to visit again soon! Thanks so much!

Lovely Lake Vacation

We love coming back to this location for several reasons. The host, Marla, is absolutely wonderful! She is so kind, welcoming and accommodating. We love how quiet the location is along with all the wildlife. Whether having coffee on the deck in front of the house or by the lake, it is an enjoyable way to start the day. Also, we made sure we checked out the colors of the sunrise and sunset. I was able to take some incredible pictures. The lakefront is nice with a dock and plenty of Adirondack chairs. There is a paddle boat, canoe, and other amenities to enjoy. It is close to several wineries and many other conveniences. We always enjoy going to Taughannock Falls nearby. It is the tallest falls east of the Rockies. You can view it from the above overlook or you can walk to it from the park (very easy - flat). We couldn’t help but to be amazed by the incredible views the area has to offer.

Fabulous Place

Having never been to the Finger Lakes before, choosing this spot was something of a shot in the dark. It turns out, however, that it's perfectly located - only 1/2 hour away from Watkins Glen, Ithica, Seneca Falls, etc., as well as being right on the Cayuga Wine Trail and close to restaurants and ice cream! The cottage itself is perfect for two people, and absolutely everything was provided, down to food storage bags and hair dryers! We didn't take advantage of the kayak, canoe, etc. because we were there in the fall, but what a bonus to have them available. Also, there was a grill, which we did use to good advantage. Marla is a great host - she was totally available (she lives next door) and very personable, but not intrusive. She even gathered the troops on the last day to help us get our dead car battery charged! Great experience all the way around!

Family Getaway

Cayuga Lake is one of our favorite vacation destinations. We like spending our days outdoors and this area has a wide array of activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. After a busy day of hiking and wine tasting, it was relaxing to return to the cabin. It had everything we needed and was a comfortable space to relax with the kids. The lake view is lovely and we ventured to the beach and took out the pedal boat even with the chiller fall temps. We can only imagine how amazing it is in the warmer months. We were close to all of our favorite stops. A wonderful stay all around.

Beautiful, relaxing place to stay

We enjoyed the quiet but there were many options for great hiking, wineries and breweries within a short drive. We did a lot of paddleboardins and especially enjoyed the sunsets and star gazing at the beach!
