Welcome to Chateau La Mer #1D - A must see! This beachy condo is just 100 steps to a private beach on the beautiful Emerald Coast and within walking distance to several restaurants (Captain Dave’s across the street, Kenny D’s around the corner and less than a mile to Crab Trap and Pompano Joes). This nicely appointed condo offers a “peek a boo” view of the Gulf of Mexico right from the couch and sleeps 4 comfortably. This condo also offers a washer/dryer in the unit, a private patio, a shared pool, heated in the cooler months as well as tennis and pickle ball courts. Everything you need for your vacation adventures!

Convenient to the Silver Sands Outlets for shopping, and the fabulous Grand Boulevard Town Center with restaurants, art, movie theater and upscale shopping, plus the adventurous activities for kids at the Village of Baytowne Wharf. This location is loaded with enough activities to please your group! 

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop. 

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017.  Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Great location!

We liked this unit and the location. It has a nice view of the beach from the balcony and if sitting on the couch you can see the ocean, too. Very cute decor and kid-friendly furniture/tables. It had everything we needed for a few days at the beach. Short walk across the street to the beach and clean. Good location... Directly across from Captain Dave's, a block from Kenny D's for takeout, and a mile from Crab Trap and Pimpano Joe's. Pool was great for the evenings.

Great location - very uncomfortable bed

Great location, loved having washer and dryer in unit, bed and hideabed both very hard and uncomfortable. Had to go to local store and buy a mattress topper.

Clean, quaint, excellent location

The condo is darling and is as described. It was perfect for my husband and me. We enjoyed the rainy view from the dry balcony. Captain Dave’s restaurant is directly across the street and has excellent cuisine. The Crab Trap is nearby and has sand games and a tiki bar so people watching was great. I have only 2 gripes: check in is 4pm, checkout is 10 am sharp. This makes for a more rushed coming-and-going. Also, housekeeping showed up at 9am knocking like a mouse then started to put in the lock code before I realized what was going on. We were trying to get ready :(

Great seaside stay!

This place has it all. Charming decor, across the street from the beach, as well as great seafood at Capt Dave’s! There are plenty of beach supplies and the like there for you as well. You are very close to many Destin attractions, and a ton of retail shopping options. We will stay here again next time we come.

OK place, but wouldn't stay again.

(1) Property description says that extra cleaning precautions are made due to COVID. Not true. There wasn't even a scent of cleaning in the unit. Shelf in bathroom was dusty, so it could not have been cleaned. This was most disappointing because of COVID. If you're going to advertise that you take extra steps, then take those extra steps. (2) Bathroom sink drains very slow (3) Vertical blinds - dirty and some are missing (in bedroom), so had to use blanket to cover so sun wouldn't shine in in the morning. (4) Coffee pot - should invest in auto-shutoff. Also, there wasn't a permanent filter or even one paper filter to make coffee. A permanent filter cost like $3 - it would go a long way so the guest doesn't have to run to the store first thing in the morning. (5) Internet is very shoddy. Owner recommended to reboot router in bedroom. This gets old. Streaming doesn't work on TV so you're stuck with whatever local cable co. offers. Not a huge deal, but allowing streaming on your smart TV (apps were there, just didn't work), is kind of a default these days. (6) Bed and sofa not very comfortable. PROS: (1) Very close to beach - and has a beach view. (2) Neighborhood seemed quiet and unit is on 2nd floor, so no-one above made it quieter. (3) Mostly clean, with the exceptions from above, and didn't see any bugs (roaches, ants) that I've seen in others.

First trip to Destin

We loved everything about our trip!!! The accommodations were great. The decor was super cute and the location was awesome. The only down fall was there was no where to rinse sand off of yourself before going back in, from the beach. However a very small inconvenience. 😁 Next trip to Destin, we will try to stay at this location again.

The description was everything it said it would be. I loved the water pressure in the shower. The extra seats were awesome. I love that you have a umbrella and chairs in the closet. Poor Management Made a Great Spot A 0/10 Stay

We had a pest issue with an animal trying to crawl into our master bedroom roof that caused us to be woke every morning of our stay between 5 & 6 am. It took the condo over 24 hours and 2 complaints to even get animal control out to look at the issue then they did nothing to resolve the issue. We had to sleep the last 2 nights on the horrible pullout couch in the living room to get a little sleep because we were exhausted. We requested to speak to the manager or owner and were always given to a generic customer line. We had a miserable experience. We have sent emails asking for compensation for a portion of our stay with no response. We have also left voicemails and are still waiting to hear from anyone higher up about our experience. I do not recommend this location.

Great place, very nice. Didn’t care for the dog barking next door for 3 days, and it was very protective if you got near it. Other wise great experience.

restfull stay

The condo was clean and comfortable. We enjoy having coffee in the balcony with the ocean view. One thing that I will advise is to get new pillows, the ones provided were old . Overall the place was clean, very close to the water and restaurants. Will definitely come back
