Longboat Key’s rare location!Beautiful canal front house with a private dock!

This wonderful, remodeled, neat unit has one bedroom king size bed with walk in closet and private bathroom, living room 2 pull out queen size sofas , dining area, kitchen and extra shower with toilet.

Outdoor living space , many ways how to relax, you can sit by the canal or by our newly build large heated pool that is shared with the other unit on the property.
It has 2 gates and 2 separate areas for entering water.We provide lounge chairs, umbrellas etc.

Note: to heat the pool in the winter time - there is a charge of 180$ /week.

Great porch with dinning area and lounge area basically sitting on the canal.Dock is just by the house, very nice vast garden and parking lot beyond the house. The house offers great privacy with beautiful views of the bay. A unique place where to spent your vacation! The house is fully equipped - beach towels and chairs,+umbrella are provided.
TV, WIFI and washer+dryer in the unit as well.
Also you will be entertained by "our" pair of Manatees who love Boathouse so very much:)

Longboat Key's beach is lined with private homes, condominiums and rental properties that limit public access to the beach. There are a number of public beach access points on Longboat Key leading to the Gulf of Mexico beaches. There are 12 beach access points on Gulf of Mexico Dr.. None of the public beach access points have any facilities such as bathrooms, concessions or lifeguards. Although, there are restrooms at Bayfront Park parking area.

Cabana Beach Resort accross the street is a private rental property and not a public beach access. Please use only public beach access points not Cabana’s .

As you travel along Gulf of Mexico Dr. on Longboat Key, keep an eye out for the blue and white beach access signs along the side of the road. Some of the access points offer parking at the beach access point while others on Longboat Key offer parking nearby.

Our property is equipped with RING bell Surveillance device, located outside, by the entrance gate .

Perfect escape for boaters

Perfect place for a family of three and their boat. The location couldn’t have been better and having your boat right outside your door was so convenient. Having a pool made it nice too!

Everything You Could Ever Want!

We stayed in this adorable boathouse from March 7-14! It was wonderful! So clean, very well furnished and what a spectacular view! The house had everything we needed with our own little covered back porch and grill. Thank you so much! We would definitely stay again!

We recently stayed at the Boathouse and it far exceeded our expectations! We truly enjoyed the peaceful, secluded vacation experience compared to previous Longboat resort stays with other tenants all around. The house is in great updated shape with great accommodations. We were very thankful for the chairs, umbrella, and cooler that we could bring to the beach just across the street. The manatees came right up to the back of the house for over an hour, 2 days in a row, which was pretty exciting for us midwesterners. Michaela was exceptional to work with through the whole booking process and through the end of our stay. We will definitely be back!

Better than our expectations.

Thank you for a relaxing vacation at your boathouse. All the extras made it real easy to want to stay longer. The fishing pole, was a surprise bonus even caught a fish. The pool and toys made a perfect pool day. The outdoor space is where we spent most of our time. Didn’t need to go to the crowded restaurants when you provided a great atmosphere all the cookware and essentials.. We also enjoy the longboat key quiet area and not overly crowded beaches, stores and roads.Thanks again We hope we can come back again.

Location was good! Construction next door was not disruptive. Had some issues with it being cleaned prior to arrival so we switched units one night. Only suggestion is bed in master is too low to the ground and mattress was not the best without a box spring . I would suggest replacement. All else was good .

It was fantastic outside as was the living Rea. However, the bed was 12" off the floor with a big frame sticking out. A severe tripping hazard. No storage at all in bedroom. Microwave was broken. For 14 of our month stay. I finally called and it was replaced.

Dear Sandy, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry I missed you when I met your husband Stan. Anyway, we have ordered the part for the microwave immediately, you were informed about that on the day you let us know about the problem.I also offered to bring a countertop microwave, which you refused. When the part had not arrived we replace the microwave, again, immediately with a new one and you were very happy about that. Our condo has a WALK IN closet in the bedroom, so l'm not sure what do you mean by no "storage at all"? Please advise. Bed is a platform bed type. I' m sorry for the inconvenience. Hope to see you again as Stan mentioned you would come to this beautiful place again. Have a great day Michaela

Home away from home!

We've been vacationing in this area for years, the boat house turned out to be everyones favorite. Boat in the water and the beach across the street, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be back if available.

Awesome stay

The location is great, and easy to get to local restaurants and shopping. The home is very updated and clean. The pool is well kept. If your boating the covered boat slip is perfect and makes it easy to run to the local sandbar and fishing spots.

Our Stay at the Boat House

The location of the Boat House is good. The house was clean inside but we did encounter a couple of issues. The water in smaller bathroom shower would not turn on - I emailed Michaela on Monday and she said she would notify the handyman but no one ever came by to check out the shower. We knew there was construction on the seawall but we did not understand (didn't know to ask) that the seawall came up to the side of the house. The workers came each day during the week and worked "Island Time" - start around 8:20-9:00, break around 10 then lunch from noon until after 1:00 - and packed up and left by 3:30. The workers liked to smoke so it made it unpleasant to sit outside when they were present. The pool may be heated but it was too cold to enjoy during our stay. We did enjoy watching the Manatees swimming and sunning. The inside of the unit was fine except for the lack of enough curtain to cover the windows - it would be nice to have blackout curtains or blinds to close at night as a lot of light comes in from the street and the Villa next door. We also did not find the wagon and beach chairs at the Boat House we were expecting to use. We did see a wagon and chairs underneath the Villa but assumed those were for the renters present at the Villa. The Boat House kitchen could use some additional glasses - small juice size and a pizza cutter. In the laundry room a shelf is over the dryer and it makes it very difficult to clean out the dryer vent. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Long Boat Key to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. Thanks again to Michaela for the lovely bottle of wine and nice anniversary wishes.

Jim, once again Happy 50th Anniversary. I'm sorry about the workers, but I tried to explain the seawall repair as much as possible, when I offered you discount or at no fee cancellation. You should have called me about them smoking , I would do my best to help you on that.The maintenance guy came to your unit in regards of the water not turning but did not find anything wrong with that. The shower worked just fine as when I did not hear from you I thought all is fine. I'm very responsive to any issues. Also there are rollout blinds in the bedroom and drapes in the living room. We will add the juice glasses, thank you.I'm glad overall you had a nice time for your anniversary!!! Michaela

We loved our 1st visit to beautiful Longboat Key!

The Boathouse is exactly as pictured. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Our dog enjoyed the fenced patio area and our son caught sheepshead from the dock. A pair of manatees visited our dock one afternoon. The beach is just a short walk across the street.We would definitely stay here again!

Very relaxing to place to hang out. Unique & fun experience in renovated boathouse

Loved the back deck over the water and in the shade and watching fish jump in the canal. Saw a manatee almost every day! Very easy to cross street to get to beautiful and secluded beach. Inside was clean, updated and had all we needed. Great place for dogs to hang out with fenced in outside and covered deck. They also loved to sit and look at the water! Definitely want to come back.

This place was excellent. We had everything we needed, from beach necessities to the fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed where we slept deeply most nights. Longboat Key annual trip

The property and unit works really good for us. Updated kitchen and bathrooms and loved having washer dryer available. We bring our boat and the dock is nice with both water and power available. Unfortunately we chose the week red tide invaded Longboat but that’s the way it goes sometimes. The covered area outside was nice to have but the over head fans did not work and the construction next door was a little bothersome in the mornings but overall it suited our needs and we will likely be back.

Beautiful and convenient!

Just finished a family weekend at the boat house and we could not have had a better experience. Kept our boat there and it was so easy to get to several places by boat without going far! Then not to mention a beautiful beach is just waiting directly across the street and an awesome park with boardwalks through the mangroves just down the road. It was perfect for my family with small kids and just what the dr ordered. Thanks for the amazing accomodations we will definitely be back!

Manatees, Ibis and wildlife - oh my!

We just finished a wonderful visit at the Boathouse for the month of February. Weather couldn't have been better. Location of the Cabana's are exellent. Of course you are on the water where the manatees basically hung out for the month - Flocks of Ibis in our yard - Great Heron outside the kitchen window - just a beautiful setting. Across the street is the beach equipped with loungers, umbrella's and what a beautiful beach it is. Walk to restaurants - Harrys store. The unit itself has been remodeled - and nicely decorated. Washer/Dryer was great to have. Owner was extremely receptive & responsive. We look forward to next year!!

The place was clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our stay at this waterfront location on Long Boat. We brought our boat and were able to hop on every day after breakfast and cruise on the beautiful waterways of Longboat. Manatees visited us daily right at the back door. We plan on coming back. The manager was great to work with also!!

Very Relaxing

I must say, I have never had a more relaxing vacation than this one in Longboat. There is not a whole lot to do there, at first I was a bit anxious, but then embraced and enjoyed it greatly. The Boat House itself, was awesome. The boat slip is very large and could easily fit 4 boats like mine (20’ center console). The interior space seemed larger than in the pictures, which was a nice surprise. I found a few small items in need of repair, and brought it to the attention of the property manager, they fixed everything immediately! The bed seemingly needs a box spring, and was not the most comfortable, at least for me, but I still slept just fine. I would definitely stay here again, and plan to do so.

Perfect location with access to the beach and your boat

We had a great time at the boat house. The location was perfect. We rode our bikes to breakfast and dinner everyday. After we put the boat in at Coquina, we never drove again for 4 days. Plenty of room to park with your boat trailer. Beautiful sunrises from the back deck. Convenient to Cannon's Marina for boat fuel. Close enough to Sarasota and even Egmont Key for day trips.The house was nicely decorated and very clean.

We recently stayed at this property and found the location, house, furnishing, cleanliness, and water way right out the back to be EXCELLENT!!! The only recommendation is if the property could be reserved via personal or cashier checks made directly to the owner, rather having to use the VRBO web site. VRBO has recently changed their model and now charge BOTH, the owner and renter(around 9%) a "service fee". You can only see this fee under "view detail" during booking. MANY web sites from annoyed owners AND renters regarding the service fee can be found by googling "how can you avoid the service fee when booking from vrbo"

The photos are honest and representative of the property. I was positively surprised by the lack of noise given that the house is just 50 meters from the main road. The location is convenient if you are planning to be on Long Boat Key, although be careful of traffic in the late afternoons if trying to get off the Key. One note: I arrived at night and it was extremely difficult to find the entrance to the property (a small dirt drive). I literally had to walk with my flashlight along the road until I found the street number. Overall I recommend this place, and I would rent it again.
