About this property
SOUTHAMPTON WATERFRONT --- ZEN -LIKE GEM/ ARCHITECT DESIGNED
Sitting high on a dune overlooking the Shinnecock Bay and the Ocean beyond, this little gem of a house was perfectly designed by Preston Phillips to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. He thoughtfully designed the house to be like a ship sailing off into the enormous span of the Shinnecock Bay and into the inlet where the ocean dramatically rushes into the bay. The house is serene , filled with the magical light from the sea. A wooden staircase leads down from the front lawn to the bay for a sunset view if you can manage to leave the beautifully appointed home which features a hot tub on the deck, fine art on the walls and everything you need for a BBQ.
From the hot tub on the waterfront deck you can enjoy the bayview after your outdoor shower and then resting on the cozy teak lounge chairs with a drink in hand.
The master bedroom suite with TV is calm and quiet with mood lighting and fine art. The house is filled with antiques and fine furnishings, including thonet chairs from the film set of The Dead (John Huston's last film)
There are two queen beds in the charming guest rooms. The bathrooms are designed by Phillips for ease of use. The old lush garden is carefully tended to create privacy. Teak outdoor furniture includes two lounge chairs a table for six with umbrella with a perfect water view and BBQ. Besides the outdoor lounge chairs there are several lounge couches (one in front of a fire place) which make for perfect naps all year round. The white denim down filled couch in the sunroom is a perfect combination of comfort, view and with good light to read your Sunday Times. A bagel from Goldbergs on the highway completes your sunday morning.
The house is also close to the famous Hamptons ocean beaches where there is public parking and are beautiful walking fishing reading swimming white sand beaches. On the north side of the highway there is also easy access to the Peconic Bay for bay swimming.
The house's proximity to Southampton shopping (as well as fresh fish at Cor J's, Mr Nurel's fresh produce and Scottos Italian food) makes meal prep easy with a bright open kitchen. The town of Southampton has excellent shopping, a giant library, groceries fancy (Citerella) and down to earth (stop and shop), bars, restaurants and Hildreths (the nations oldest department store!) as well as the best boutiques outside of New York City. We have movie theaters in Hampton Bays, Southampton and East Hampton and they have the latest releases. The new and exquisite Parish Art Museum is a must see with changing exhibits and classes for young and old. And the huge fully equipped Library in Southampton even has a boat in the children's section.
There are two tv's which can be switched to your favorite programing, a blue tooth audio stereo receiver, a nest thermostat for Central Air and Heat and of course WiFi. In front of yet another napping couch is a wood burning fireplace for atmosphere and some heat on a nippy fall evening. The appliances or either new or in good working order.(towels linens beach towels herbs condiments cleaning supplies toilet paper etc have been provided) The house has been thoughtfully designed to be easy and casual as well as calm and peaceful. The lighting at night is brilliant both in the house and in the garden.
The exceptional crew to care for the house is dependable and cheerful and can be called upon day or night for advice and help. You will thank your lucky stars that you have found this precious gem and are able to enjoy its peace and beauty. It will turn you into a poet or at least a true lover of the sea.

About the host
Hosted by Lilyan Sievernich

We are independent film producers with such credits as Paris, Texas ( d Wim Wenders) The Dead (d. John Huston) The Wedding Planner (d Adam Shankman) etc, who have traveled the world making award winning films. We moved to Los Angeles years ago but we always find ourselves back on this bay surrounded by family and friends.
Why they chose this property
We have lived on this street on and off since 1988 knowing the secret of living at the first turn off the highway on a Friday night surrounded by protective bays and sparkling oceans--we just moved down the street last year to a perfect home for us.
What makes this property unique
This home is close to both towns in the Hamptons each with unique qualities of farm fresh produce, delicate fish, bay sailing, clamming or just walking any time of year.
