Wonderful lakefront home with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, separated between 3 levels.

Main level offers beautiful, fully stocked kitchen (incl. auto drip and Keurig coffeemakers) -sure to please any cook! Dining table as well as stools at the breakfast bar to accommodate your guests!

Living room & lower level family room boasts a gas fireplace & flatscreen TV; each bedroom also has its own TV.

Pool table in the lower level family room. Washer/dryer also on the lower level.

Home sits very close to the water, with a hot tub on the deck in-between.

Lakeside deck offers gas & charcoal grill.

Dock has plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture, ceiling fans and lockable storage room w/ mini fridge and radio with outdoor speakers. 2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards available for use. Floating dock for boat tie-up, eletricity and lights. Steps that lead into the lake from the walkway on the dock!

Comcast TV Service, Wifi Access, Central A/C, Washer/Dryer, Baby Gates of Various Sizes Available. Garage not available. Sorry, covered boat slip & hoist are not available for tenant use.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If a reservation is cancelled with at least 90 days prior notice, 1/2 of the pre-paid rental payment will be refundable. Be sure to reference the rented property name and dates you had intended to visit.

Huddleston Lake Retreat

Wonderful views of the mountains and perfect configuration for dogs. You will be able to sit back and relax with no worries. Kitchen is stock with everything you will need if you enjoy cooking and entertaining. I will think about renting this home again. Thank you!

New Years at Smith Mountain Lake

Beautiful home, gourmet kitchen, warm family room/dining area. Ultra comfy beds. Pool table, hot tub and fire pit made for some memorable family moments. The view of the lake and mountain were breathtaking. Enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking. Small fenced in yard was perfect for our 4 legged family members to enjoy some time off leash! Perfect vacation home for a family of 6 and 2 dogs!

Felt like home. Such a fun, well-kept place.

What a great place! First, the kitchen supplies were all top notch - new, clean, higher end. The place was super clean. And the amenities were great, with access to the paddle boards and kayaks. We loved that the dog run was a straight shot from the main level, out the back door and down the steps for the dogs. (Just remember to pick up the poo!) The best place we've stayed so far.

Wonderful. Relaxing & Away From the Hustle Bustle

Love this house!! Have stayed in vacation rental homes many times but this one is so generously well equipped. It has all the amenities you could ever need. The hot tub, landscaped fire pit and both gas and charcoal grills are a plus. This house is great for 3 couples as each bedroom has a private full bathroom with king beds, separated on each level. Plenty of room to spread out. Beautiful views from every angle. It is tucked away from city life, most shopping and entertainment is a good 30 minutes away. So if you love quiet, serene and away from everyday life, then this is the place for you. I would recommend additional lighting (i.e. floor lamp in corner next to TV and/or lamp on small antique dresser) be added to the basement bedroom as the accents are mainly dark hues which darkened the room. All else was wonderful. Will definitely stay there again. Next time will not book through VRBO. Their fee (10% of the rental) is outrageous and we felt we got NOTHING (no advantages) from booking through them. I get that COVID-19 has put a strain on the travel business, but gouging travelers is unconscionable. The access to their website does not afford any additional information that you could easily find elsewhere on the internet and the fee does not include travel insurance; this is also extra.

Family Vacation at SML June 2020

American Dream is a great vacation home. We had a great week except for the 5 days of rain! For 3rd week of June, water temp was 68 - 70 the whole week, mostly due to the rainy weather. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub and boathouse and deck area. Our 1 year old twin grandchildren had plenty of room to play. Our Golden Retrievers loved the steps for lake exit after jumping off the boathouse dock for a swim. We didn't get to enjoy the firepit area due to rainy weather. Owners also had irrigation running a lot which kept that area very wet. We loved the large well-stocked kitchen and open dining/living area. Satellite signal was not good during storms. Drawbacks: MBR has no door so noise from downstairs is loud. We weren't able to use the boathouse slip and due to the rain we had a lot of sleepless nights running the bilge on our boat. The pet area gets overrun with water when it rains so it was rather muddy and we didn't use it much.

Utterly beautiful and relaxing!

I loved everything about this house. I loved the location, the privacy, the house itself, and the modern feeling it to. The hot tub was warm and soothing, the dock was perfect for the large mouth bass I caught, and the fire pit for roasting marshmallows. I have never been more relaxed and comfortable. I will be back and I can’t wait!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving week & it was the ultimate relaxing experience. Loved the view of the lake - especially when we were enjoying our daily afternoon time in the hot tub. The kitchen is a chef’s dream. We are already planning a return trip with close friends next year.

This is a great lake house for a small group of friends or a family. It’s clean, fairly modern, has all of the amenities any small group could want, is on a quiet cove with easy access to the lake and the surrounding area. The only downer was the wifi, which basically didn’t work. Highly recommend bringing a personal hotspot if more than one person in the group needs to work from the house or you have important work to do.

Great Home

This house and its amenities are just as they appear in the photos. Plenty of space in the house. The boat dock is fabulous for hanging out by the lake. The oars for the kayaks and paddle boards are in the shed along with other water toys that can be used. It's a quiet cove with a nice view. A couple of issues - the basement is cold even when the AC is off. Bring blankets! The kitchen had ants - not super bad but we did see some. The outside needs to be cleaned for cobwebs. The bathrooms were a little older than I expected. The kitchen must have had an update. We did use the firepit and gas grill - all functioned fine. The hot tub was tricky getting it to work. But finally it came on. A nice house that we would rent again.

Somewhat disappointed

When we arrived at the property at our scheduled time the maid was there. She said it would be another 45 minutes before she would be done the mattress covers were not dry so she had to take them with her and returned them later in the afternoon. So we could not even make the beds until she arrived with the mattress covers. I felt somewhat uncomfortable having her and her son in the house while I was trying to put things away. The downstairs area was extremely cold the entire time, our grandchildren complained of being very cold during the night even with blankets. The upstairs bedroom was very warm. We had to run The fans constantly. The fan control was hanging out of the wall with exposed wires!! Too much of a fluctuation in temperatures in the house. I would say that if you pay to rent a property and the maid is still there for another 45 minutes, please have your housekeeping service finished before people arrive. That was very disappointing for us.
