There is more than a fresh coat of paint in this cottage! Pine paneling and bead board throughout the 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. 2 bedrooms and bath are on main level, another bath, bedroom, family room and mini bar in walkout lower level. Great views from every room! 100 feet of private beach with dock for fishing boat and swimming in this peaceful but large lake. An open floor plan on the main floor will provide your family or group with many special moments while at Camp Bay Cottage.

The host was very helpful and available for any questions. The house was cozy and decorated so cute. It was very convenient for a family stay as it has 2 bathrooms, washer and dryer, and 2 living room areas. The views of the lake it is on were beautiful!

Great location and views. Room for our 2 snowmobile trailers was nice. Marjorie was very responsive to questions. It was a cozy stay for the 4 of us to enjoy the local trails.

Great little cabin, easy access to the lake, our dog enjoyed swimming and barking at the ducks! Was a pretty good centralized base camp for all the things we wanted to do, mostly and hour or less away! Very peaceful at night sitting around the bonfire looking out onto the lake. We were so lucky to have gorgeous weather every day we were there!!!

No WIFI.When we got there there were fans going in the basement as if there was water damage... including a bad smell. The 4th evening when we went to bed there was a small amount of water covering the floor in the basement including bedroom, hall, and living area (after a lot of rain), but it was gone in the morning. **The water smelled and tasted like metal and was very noticeable when we showered and brushed our teeth. Bring water!!There were a lot of basic things missing that most places have (i.e., kleenex, salt & pepper, coffee. And nothing in showers - not even a little bar of soap).We saw a few black widows outside close to the house so the outside needs a good cleaning/sweep of cobwebs, old leaves/debris, etc. We felt like these were things that needed to be addressed.But this was a very beautiful, peaceful area.

House was lovely. Loved being on the lake and the ability of my family being able to fish off the dock was fantastic. We also appreciate that it was pet friendly. Our fur babies enjoyed it as well. The host was very responsive.

Beautiful and peaceful

The house was comfortable, clean and cozy. Plenty of space for parents, kids and a dog. The lake is stunning and quiet. The location was great for day trips to multiple other towns and waterfalls. Great stay.

Snowmobile Trip

The location was perfect, which is just South Curtis, right on the lake, easy entry for either icefishing or snowmobiling. The home was well appointed with updated furniture, and a very easy layout. Will stay here many times more in the future.

This place was amazing and we truly enjoyed our time there. The host was beyond accommodating. The only thing that i thought could have been better was the cleaning prior to our arrival. I get it that it’s on a lake and there will be spiders but every overhead light and lamp inside had spider/cob webs on them.

UP Trip

What a great little cottage for a long weekend in the UP. Super clean and the space was perfect for 4 adults, 2 kids, and our dog. Loved the peaceful lake in the mornings and evenings. The night sky was also INCREDIBLE. Marge was a fabulous host and responded quickly to questions. Definitely recommend!

UP Bliss on The Lake

Our stay on S. Manistique Lake was nothing short of wonderful. The cottage was super clean; the indoor and outdoor spaces are very nice and take advantage of the wonderful lake views. Marge was great to communicate with before and during the rental, providing helpful information and quickly responding to any questions. All in all enjoyed our stay very much and definitely would return if in the area again.

Christmas getaway

We were up there for a short stay over Christmas. The cottage was very clean and cozy. It was the perfect space for my sister and I to celebrate Christmas together with our families. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils so we had everything we needed for a nice Christmas dinner. Marge was very prompt in answering any questions we had. If we rent a cottage in Curtis again, we will definitely be staying here!

Spring Break in the U.P.

We had a great spring break/long weekend with our boys who attend NMU. The area was so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed dining in Curtis, Germfask, and at the house with all the essentials. We spent most of our time ice fishing on the lake. In the evening we played and learned new games. Cell service was moderate and just enough, but we did not miss the internet. A great time and family vacation.

Great House - Great Location

Just got back from ice fishing weekend w the boys. House was perfect. Updated interior, comfortable beds, couches just ok, kitchen on smaller side,perfect location(5 mins from town), and we caught lots of fish in front of house and also out from Wolfe Bay boat launch. Owners stopped by and were very friendly. Will be back for sure! If Snowmobiling trail connects to residential street this house is located on.

We live in Empire, Michigan and one of our favorite vacation locations is almost anywhere in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We built a cottage in Curtis as it seemed to be centrally located and we love the area and lake. We build custom homes and cottages in the area. Steve loves to salmon and walleye fish.

Why they chose this property

This cottage was available and located a few blocks from our family cottage. We loved the area and lake spending, many wonderful weeks and weekends on S. Manistique Lake. We purchased this cottage knowing friends and family would also enjoy vacations spent here year around.

What makes this property unique

This lake is a great lake for fresh water fishing of many different species. Gorgeous views from Long Point with lake on both sides. My favorite ritual is to sit on the deck with a hot cup of coffee and listen to the wildlife wake up.
