We had a wonderful family beach vacation! The location was great - a short walk to the beach and we were happy a wagon, beach blanket and plenty of towels were provided. The beach was beautiful, quiet, not crowded and had life guards and bathrooms. The house was well appointed. My kids (2,5) had a great time playing in the yard. Victoria was an excellent host and went above and beyond for us! We will book here again if we come back to the area.
My family, coming from Massachusetts, Georgia, and Kentucky, was joining extended, local, aunts, uncles, and cousins for a week of family fun. As wonderful as it was to all be together, having time with just my sons and their families was a special treat. This location was ideal and made it easy to join activities. The owner was responsive and accommodating, and we look forward to returning sometime soon

Dear Kinnon, you and your family are always welcome back. It's always a pleasure to host nice people.
The home was lovely, the decor was charming, and the location was ideal.
However, the shampoo supply was insufficient, and the pillows and bedding were not of hotel quality.
Despite these issues, we would stay there again.

Kathy, I wish you told us that you needed more shampoo not to mention that there was additional shampoo in bathroom cabinets. Different people might have different preferences, but all pillows are new (we provide extra pillow as well) and all sheets are made of cotton.

Dear Jeanne,
Thank you very much for the review. We wish ourselves more guests like you :).
We booked this property for a group of business associates working on a project in Shippan Point. Victoria was a wonderful host. We had to extend the stay due to the project and Victoria was very accommodating over the 4+ months. Great communication and the location was perfect for our needs. I highly recommend the property based on the feedback I received from the occupants and especially with my personal interactions with Victoria...she takes great pride in offering a wonderful property and ensuring her guests are well taken care of.

John, it was a great pleasure to host you! What nice guests you all are! Hope you will come again. Thank you for your kind words.
Well appointed home in great location with very accommodating host!
We were very happy with the house and even more pleased with how friendly and accommodating the host, Victoria, was. We had to stay in Stamford for a week after my son's surgery, and Victoria set up a cot on the first floor to ensure I could be close by to him if needed. The house was in a perfect location just a short walk to the beach, a short drive to CVS and grocery store, and had pretty much all the basic house supplies we needed already stocked, eliminating the need to buy certain things like dish and hand soap, laundry detergent, kitchen supplies, etc. We truly felt at home and were very comfortable!

Dear Jody,
Thank you very much for being such a nice person. Hope one day you could come back just to enjoy the beach and NYC after your son completely recovers from the surgery. You are always more than welcome :).
The home had everything you may need. The host was very helpful. The house was quiet at night. A short walk to the beach. Pretty much a home run.
The only issue is backing out of the driveway onto a busy street was a challenge. The street is crowded and foliage blocked the oncoming traffic. Not unsafe just difficult.

Just would like to comment that the hosue is quiet 24/7 and a perfect place for those who like to sleep during the day :). Also, the house has plenty of room to turn a car instead of backing out of the driveway. I hope Paul would agree that it's hard to find a house with so much parking space.
The home was perfect for our family. Victoria had the two upstairs bedrooms set up for my two son's with children. Each had a cribs for my 2 grandsons. There was a great bathroom with a huge tub, which my 2 year old grandson's loved. Down stairs was a open floor plan and a bedroom and bath for myself and my husband. Victoria was a wonderful host. When we locked ourselves out, she left a parade to let us in right away. The home is a short walk to the beach and has plenty of chairs . My family had a wonderful stay. thank you, Ann

Dear Ann,
Thank you for your nice words. I have very warm memories about you. Hope to see you again (in addition to beach chairs we are providing now a beach umbrella, beach blanket and a beach cart to carry all beach gear :) ).
The property was as advertised. My family (adults, one child) was in town for a week for a memorial service for another family member who had passed away. The house was fine with plenty of space for sleeping and dining. Everything was clean. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans and useful utensils. The bed mattresses were firm. The following issues were unexpected.
Parking was annoying as we had 2 cars. The driveway did not allow the parked cars to turn around so that you had to back out about 80 ft onto a usually busy Shippan Avenue. We learned to park in front on Shippan Avenue instead but then got a note on our windshield from house #1 not to park in front of their gate or we will find scratches on our cars and "all the locals know this".
All else went well except a smoke detector started beeping one night from a low battery we had to replace. Also a gas detector by the gas range went off unexpectedly one evening even though nobody used the stove. We reset it and it was fine.
The beach was a bit of a hike for a 5 year old and the beach was small. It was closed when we were there because of rainstorms causing sewage leaks into the water. You must have a Stamford parking permit to use the parking lot at the beach.
Traffic on I-95 was backed up most days (this is usual) from Stamford to Norwalk making for slow journeys out of town.
Overall, a good place to stay, but with some annoyances.

Frank, I'm sure you'll agree that you misquoted the message content. I know it since I own the house you parked at, too, and it was I who wrote that message although I didn't know it was your car. The message said that your car blocked the front gate of the house, that it's not allowed and all locals know it. Also, I mentioned that our guests use the front gate to go to the beach, etc. and thus your car could be accidentally scratched with a beach cart or other beach gear. That's all. If I knew it was your car, I would have just texted you directly. There's more than enough space to turn your 2 small cars. We had 2 trucks and three SUVs parked and there was no problem parking and turning 5 cars. As for I95 traffic I can't help you with that. Same is true about rising gas prices, inflation and other not related to my beautiful house problems :).
The house is very new/updated with fabulous air conditioning and great wifi (very important to us!). The kitchen and bathrooms seem new and everything works well and was clean and tidy. There were plenty of dishes and pots, spices, etc for our use. They even supplied very nice beach towels. The host was very accommodating and at one point rushed over some new kitchen spatulas when I mentioned one had come apart, even though I said not to worry about it. She was very nice and wanted everything to be just right. We especially appreciated numerous very soft blankets for use while relaxing on the couch and also in each bedroom. The beach is very close by, easy walking distance, but as we were feeling lazy, we drove the few blocks and always had abundant free parking steps away from it. The beach itself is calm with not a lot of waves, very safe. Water was cool but not too cold to swim. Plenty of space for social distancing, we always felt comfortable. Lifeguards on duty during the day, and at night we could sit on the beach and watch the sky change, it was very peaceful. The house is one of 2 on the same lot, but we never saw or heard the family in the other house, the lot is carefully designed so that each house has its own parking, entrance, and separate yard space. We went on some great easy hikes nearby and especially enjoyed the Nianus River Park and the Stanford Museum and Nature Center. We would stay again, it was a great place to relax.
Great house for a family. Walking distance from the beach with majestic views of the Long Island Sound. Beautiful cozy home with lots of special touches, very comfortable for a family of 8. Victoria is an extremely responsive owner and was very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend the place
The property was just as listed; very clean and comfortable. Victoria was very helpful and was in communication with us. There were plenty of dishes and a few pots and pans. Two suggestions to make things even better are: a couple of larger microwaveable serving dishes and a few board games/card games to play. We left a new deck of cards for future guests to use.
Very spacious "duplex" (2 floors virtually self contained and separated from the other house). 4 BR's with lot's of different bed choices which lends great flexibility (we had several single adults) and one couple. All had own beds. Kitchen is well stocked and with dining table gives great space. (We cook and eat group meals). Location is easy to get to and proximity to beach is a short walk. Multiple spots to park in back. Victoria was very communicative throughout and made sure we were all set. TV/Wifi worked very well. Happy to have found this one!
The house was perfect for our girls’ weekend. Short walk to the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The house was very well laid out, very clean and the owner was very welcoming.
Our rental with Victoria was probably one of the smoothest and most enjoyable so far! The property is just beautiful and Victoria is warm, welcoming and a joy to meet. Our trip was very relaxing and calm, as we hoped it would be.
Although I have a successful career in real estate now which consumes all my life, I am also a former teacher, member of Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, University Professor, interpreter and translator including United Nations, and my life has always been about people. I feel sad :) when my phone doesn't ring, and I love it when somebody needs me which explains why I answer my phone 24/7.
I don't think it is possible to fake being a people person, and I am certainly is and have always been one.
Thus it comes as a given that I will be happy to socialize with the guests and help them with advice, etc. if they need me with the emphasis on the latter because being social friendly, caring & helpful is different from being intrusive, and your privacy will always be respected. I live 10 min from the house, and I will be available when you need me (either on the phone or in person).
I will certainly do my best to make sure you will enjoy staying in my place as well as the neighborhood because I want it to be a memorable experience for you.
Let's develop life-long relationships! I want you to come back :)!
Why they chose this property
The part of Stamford where the house is located is very unique (it is a peninsular called Shippan Point). The main road (it takes 1 min to reach its end by car) goes all the way to the Atlantic ocean (we call it Long Island Sound since the water is separated from the ocean by a row of mountains). Thus, where the main road ends, the water starts. It is a neighborhood like no other: people walk, and jog, and bike there, it has a resort vibe and ocean breeze.
The house is across the road from the beach and at the same time it is just 1 mile from downtown Stamford with its shopping and restaurants as well as the Train Station (50 min commute to NYC which could be less than it would have taken you if you stayed in NYC depending on your NYC location). Also, large grocery store Shop Rite is right around the corner from the house.
Shop Rite is surrounded by many restaurants including Subway. On your way to ShopRite there will be a very popular Ice-Cream Shop.
Famous Irish Pub Brennan's is a short walk from the house (right at the water). The food is delicious, prices are very reasonable and it has a Cape Cod vibe (and children's menu).
This neighborhood has it all. It's a great place to spend your vacations or just stay for a while when visiting Stamford on business, etc.
What makes this property unique
Offered at a promotional price, this house is a newer property built in 2007 with high ceilings, open plan, very large bedrooms and bathrooms and plenty of windows.
The house is spacious enough to accommodate up to 11 guests.
Because we have a lot of beds, the number of made beds depends on the number of guests we host. We are asking not to use the extra beds (whether they are made or not) since they are reserved for larger groups.
Even if some guests, who are part of a group, do not sleep all reserved nights (for example if they sleep only 2 nights out of 6 reserved nights) they will still be charged for all reserved nights since once a bed is used (even if only for 1 night) we will need to change the beddings which is the most time consuming and difficult job.
The house has a zoned central AC on each floor.
The house has everything new including beds, mattresses, rugs, etc. Of course the house has a new furniture.
