Waterfront home on Lake Michigan with views of St Helena Island Lighthouse

This is a two bedroom home located on the Straits of Mackinac, Lake Michigan. This house is in a quiet residential neighborhood, but private, with only one house close next door. The deck and back yard facing the waterfront. All amenities including WiFi, washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, 12 cup coffee pot, toaster, air conditioning (in season will be installed in windows) and small portable tabletop charcoal grill are available. There is a fire pit on the beach front property to the east of the house. Location is 5 miles west of the Mackinac bridge on Gros Cap Rd, with views of St Helena Island Lighthouse and from the shore, you get views of the south end of the Mackinac Bridge. The beach here is rocky, but water accessible for swimming; water shoes are recommended. Sandy dunes are located approximately 5 miles west of the house, for all day sunbathing and swimming. Located within 5 miles of Mackinac Island Ferry Boats, many restaurants and tourist shopping. Also, close to hiking trails and snowmobile trails. We have some of the most incredible sunsets.

Great stay in St Ignace.

Wonderful little house on the water. Clean, and with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The little beach out back was absolutely the best place to end the day around a fire and watch the sunset over the lake. My family had a great time and we would absolutely stay again.

Cottage with a view

This was a beautiful little cottage on the water. If you are looking for peaceful sounds of the water lapping the shore while you drink your morning coffee this is a perfect spot. From the cottage you have views of the Mackinaw bridge and the light house on St. Helena Island.

Super cute little house

Super cute and clean house. Very easy to check in and super responsive to any questions. We went in the fall, so didn’t get to use the outside much, but our kids would love to play on the beach if it was warmer. Thanks for a great stay!

PERFECT Lakefront Property!

I can’t say enough about this place. The home is in perfect condition and neat as a pin. You walk out the back porch and you’re a few short steps from your own private beach! My whole family loved it here! It was private and quiet yet close enough to the main tourist area and marina that you will not miss a thing! The owners were very nice and informative.

Million Dollar Views

This beautiful little home was perfect for our family getaway. The home was immaculate! Very quiet setting with beautiful sunsets. The Straits of Mackinaw are literally your backyard… stunning views. We saw several freighters go by and enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves. This house is a hidden little gem!🌅

Amazing vacation!

Our experience at Matt and Nicole’s was amazing! The moment you enter the house you are surrounded by the most gorgeous views. The water is just steps from the door and you are instantly relaxed from the sound of the waves. The house is immaculate and equipped with everything you need. The hosts were excellent to work with and made you feel right at home. We are definitely returning!

Peaceful Retreat

The home was perfect for a couple that really needed to get away from the stress of work life. It was great to head out for a day of hiking and exploring and then having a peaceful evening alone. It sits right at the lake and listening to the waves was pure relaxation. Nicole and Matt were great at communicating and we appreciated the tips on things to do and see. With 900 driving miles and over 50 hiking miles it was a great location to take in many areas of the Upper Peninsula.

We enjoyed this surprisingly spacious, comfortably appointed home with stunning lake view. Very clean house and yard (with swing set.) We had a lakeside campfire our last night using the fire ring and camp chairs provided. It was a chilly weekend but the cottage was cozy warm with heated tile bathroom floor. Cool feature! Great reclining tub that our son-in-law soaked his legs in after running a race on Mackinac Island. Easy 9-11 min. drive into St. Ignace to the ferry and church, a pizza run and firewood. Big screen TV. Very attentive hosts. Lovely, quiet lake neighborhood street. Very safe and just far enough off the main road. We loved it!

My first VRBO experience and I am afraid to try it again anywhere else. The standard here was set extremely high!
