The Little Red House was just Perfect!
We loved the charm, cleanliness and convenient location. It was a quiet retreat after windsurfing in Hood River and we will most certainly stay there again. Thank you Martha!

Little red house
Very charming, everything was very clean and comfortable. I just wish she had YouTube TV! The notebook on things to do was terrific, and I really enjoyed walking down the hill to Mosier Company-good food and live music, hard to beat!

Sweet little house!
This house is centrally located but out of the Hood River crowds. We loved sitting on the porch, where we could see the river. The neighborhood was very quiet. Nicely stocked kitchen - and coffee beans!

Good things Come in Small Packages!
Great space for 2! Wonderful kitchen space that is very well equipped. Spacious living/dining area and nice outdoor spaces with a river view form the porch. Helpful activities guides. Martha was a great communicator and accommodating. Made our week of Gorge Downwind Championships super convenient and fun. And Mosier is a charming town.

About the host

I grew up in Portland and live there now with my husband and two daughters where we both work in design. We frequently visit the gorge and Mosier to visit my brother and his family and to enjoy the beauty and activities of the area including, biking, hiking, paddle boarding and exploring. We use the home ourselves and are excited to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

I had my eye on this house and its mate next door for years as they fell into neglect. They were built in 1915 and they are a part of the historic fabric of Mosier. When they came on the market, I was excited for the opportunity to bring back their dignity and charm. My brother lives very close by and is a contractor who specializes in restoring old homes which, of course, was key to the remodel.

What makes this property unique

Sitting on the front porch lets one take in the immense landscape of the Columbia River Gorge and, at the same time, slow pace of a small town. The house has a great feel, a wonderful place to relax. Restoring and renovating the house was a labor of love and has served as a place for my creative energies including the making installing of the tile, the garden/patio and some artwork and furnishings.
