Relax in this wheelchair accessible property that features a zero step entrance, elevator, 36" wide doors throughout, wheel-under bathroom sink, grab bars in shower & toilet area, shower chair, roll-in shower, handheld shower head, and hardwood floors and tile throughout. Durable medical equipment is available to include: twin electric hospital bed, hoyer lift, bath chair, property toilet seat, and beach wheelchair. Our property is truly a one-of-a-kind wheelchair accessible home. We now have a beach wheelchair for all renters to use.

Located in the heart of the Carolina Beach, this unit is directly across from the lake, only two blocks from the beach, and just as close to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, and tourist attractions.

This second floor rental has two-bedrooms, two-baths, living room, dinning area, and kitchenette; it has all you need to make your beach vacation awesome!

On the balcony you can hear the ocean waves and you're less than a two-minute walk before you are in the sand or enjoying the waves. For your convenience, the local fire department, located blocks from the house, has free beach wheelchair rentals.

Within blocks, you are in the midst of great restaurants, outdoor family movies, a Saturday farmer's market with local one-of-a-kind gifts, a family-friendly accessible boardwalk with a Ferris Wheel, rides for tots and music for adults, homemade ice cream and scrumptious hot donuts, the aquarium, and Fort Fisher. Take surfing lessons, go scuba diving, fish in the waves, walk miles on the beach, enjoy the fireworks on Thursday, or do absolutely nothing but worship the sun!

If you are looking for more to do, you're just a short drive away from the Fort Fisher Civil War Museum. You can also visit the North Carolina aquarium located on the south end of the Island or take a ferry ride to Southport for a day trip. There are also many top-ranked golf courses nearby, and historic Wilmington is only 20 minutes away. The thriving port city of Wilmington has the Historic Riverfront District with its unique restaurants, shops, walking tours, bus ride tours, carriage rides, and riverboat cruises. Wilmington is also home to the USS North Carolina WWII Battleship Memorial and UNC-Wilmington.

My husband has MS and this was our first big trip. The place was gorgeous. Lorraine had it decorated so cute. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so close to everything and my husband was overjoyed to be able to go to the beach with the beach wheelchair they provided. The tiled bathroom was not only beautiful but so convenient.

My husband uses a wheelchair so this stay was perfect for Access and accessibility. We have friends who live in the area however their houses inaccessible to those with Mobility needs so this provided a great opportunity for us to have a place to stay while still touring around Carolina beach and Wilmington

This our 2nd stay on property. It's the perfect place to stay for my husband and I give his recent stroke. The property includes all the safety bars and space needed for wheelchair access. Property is always super clean and you can't beat the location to the beach and local restaurants.

2nd floor, elevator and porch were very nice. Accessible bathroom excellent. On the possible suggestions- make the garage accessible all the way to the elevator for minivan, add a built in electric burner or small stove/oven, need more ice trays and/or ice maker, addition of one or two tvs for bedrooms and additional flatware.

This adorable rental is eclectic yet elegant. Owner Lorraine, a peach, has created the ideal space for travelers in wheelchairs - an elevator, enormous tool-in shower with shower chair, a hospital bed & lift, wide hardwood floors, and more. Located on a beautiful street only 3 blocks from the beach & across the street from a lake it is in an ideal setting. Many activities and good restaurants nearby. We have never experienced better accommodation & accessibility in all of our travels. Cannot recommend this listing more highly.

This home was a dream come true for my childhood friend of 40 years, who finally found a truly wheelchair-accessible, worry-free place to relax and feel at home. Every detail, from the layout to the equipment, made our stay comfortable, stress-free, and incredibly special.The private elevator made it easy and safe for my friend, and the hospital bed she used provided the support and comfort she needed to really rest and enjoy the trip. The mobility-friendly chair by the TV and the rolling shower were huge highlights.Everything about the house was designed to make life easier: wide pathways, thoughtful furniture placement, and accessible features.
