Lovely quiet spot near a beautiful beach, you can hear the water from the house. House is comfortable and clean, loved the fire, and bird life. Honorbread in Bermagui is delicious and only 10 minutes away. Hope we can come back some time!
Well equiped accommodation. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook at home and fire was well stocked with wood.
Great location - walking distance to 3 beaches.

Great location
We loved the location and waking to the sound of bird calls was delightful. Property was welcoming on arrival and we'd like to stay again. A water filter to deal with water discolouration would be great.

Thank you for your comments! We're really happy you enjoyed your stay too. Since your stay the water tanks have been cleaned and filters installed (although the colour of the water is stained due to the close proximity of the magnificent gums that leech tainin).
We hope to see you again soon!
We enjoyed our stay here as a couple. As there was just the two of us we didn't have to worry about noise with the open plan layout - might be an issue for some visitor combinations as made clear with the listing. The design immerses you in the forest and we loved the bird life - we even saw a lyrebird perched on the walkway balustrade one morning, chattering away. It's great there's a clothes dryer as the rainforest means getting things fully dry naturally can be difficult if it rains for a few days as it did for us. Short walk to lovely (non swimming) beach. Several folks mention the water - we found it fine to drink so the new set up works.

Very Disappointed!
This property is set in a lovely area however the comfort level, water quality and general effort the owners put in to this property is very disappointing! Beware of the ambiguous 'open-plan' description as this means there are NO DIVIDING WALLS OR DOORS to the bedrooms - so basically the bedrooms are open to the rest of the house. We have children so we had no privacy and had to tiptoe around at night. The real estate agents who manage the property, omitted to put this in and denied this is was unclear or ambiguous but from the photos we could not see that it was so called 'open-plan'. The only door inside the house is to the bathroom and it does not close properly. The water is literally brown and smells disgusting. Beware, when the descriptions says 'tanniney' it s actually means brown. Again, when we addressed this with the Realestate agent, they said it was the area the house is located in and lots of guests accept this. However, with the convenience of water filtration systems this would not be a problem. My husband is a builder of 30 years and has the knowledge that this is a FIXABLE problem and does not need to be accepted. My question is, does the owner not want to spend the money to make this more comfortable for the guests, considering this problem can be solved? There are NO BLINDS except for screen transparent blinds on some of the bedroom windows (not all though!), so be prepared to wake up early! And its hot too as you cannot block out the sun. There are NO FANS so it was super hot and muggy, hence we went to a garage sale and bought a fan. We left it there for other guests as we hope it will make it a little more comfortable for others. We live in a rural area too and know how to put up with discomfort at times. And we don't complain readily either - so when each point was put back onto us by the real estate agent we were incredibly disappointed. No responsiblity was taken at all by the agent!

We are very sorry that the property didn't suit or meet your expectations. We and the owners are always keen and welcome guest feed back. This is a unique property with an open plan layout where 80% of the walls are windows to bring the outside in. Since your stay, the water tanks have been cleaned and filters installed (although the colour of the water is stained due to the close proximity of the magnificent gums that leech tainin). The windows dont have curtains due to the secluded setting which helps to create the overall vibe of a tree house. Blinds to the two bedrooms can be pulled for privacy with the cross flow ventilation of windows and the shading of the spotted gum canopy almost always sheltering the house from the weather extremes.
The owners are disappointed that the property didnt suit your family, as are we. Unfortunately, during this peak Summer school holiday period, we were limited as to alternative accommodation with the only other suitable property that was available and offered, not taken.
As you can see, improvements have been made and we thank you again for your feedback.
Perfect getaway nestled in the bush walking distance of the beach
Funky little place, comfortable and centrally located for bushwalking, swimming and cafes/shopping. Lovely linen, comfy beds and sofas, cozy fireplace and everything you could want in the kitchen and laundry.

Liked: Check-in, location
needs attention to details
Overall a good property set among the spotted gums.
Downside was a BBQ that had it's day. Could not be lit without removing the hot plate and sticking a match to the burners at some risk to the hair on your fingers. No gas lighter supplied, had to dig around for matches in the wood basket.
Fireplace full of ash, the almost non existent woodpile was in the open and all wood was wet and 1/2 buried in the mud. The outside "firepit" was a circle of bricks piled high with ashes and a piece of corrugated iron as a windbreak.
These are fairly minor details that could have easily been fixed.
The track to the beach is at the end of the road and is not like the photo, being steep and rough and not suited for all people .
Otherwise it is a comfortable cottage in a nice quiet setting only 10 mins to town
A gorgeous cosy place to stay for the three of us. Well appointed and comfortable. The board games were a hit. The beach is lovely and just a short walk down the road. The only thing that was missing for a family is room to play outside in a yard but with everything to do in the area this really wasn’t an issue. We will definitely book again.
