A nice big house that would be perfect if not for the very obvious smell of mold. Please take out the soft carpets and try to get rid of the smell. Then it would rise from low to high rate.
Great position, nice house that needs lots of tender loving care. Terrible musty smell on entering (perhaps someone could have opened windows anticipating our arrival). Despite the rain, mould on cupboard in laundry hadn’t been cleaned off recently.
Upstairs deck and table dirty and covered in leaves - appeared not to have been swept or table washed in weeks.
Poor supply of condiments (pepper grinder with no pepper), minimum sugar, tea coffee for 12 people, no tissues, not enough toilet paper, no soap in shower. Lack of hooks to hang towels (behind doors in bathrooms or bedrooms).
Could be a lovely place with a bit of thought and attention.
The house was very comfortable, ample space for a large group. Great position very well equipped kitchen. Tidy inside but very untidy garden and backyard. Even the path to the entrance was covered with wet leaves which it was a hustle for old people. The house has a musty smell. Unfortunately the fridge was stinking with fish/prawns smell which contaminated our food. Beautiful property but it needs a bit of TLC. Nevertheless we enjoyed our gathering.
We were 8 adults, 3 children and a baby. The house was big enough for all of us, we had everything we need, being in winter, the central heating was very appreciated. It was the perfect place for us.
The house is quite huge with a massive and well equipped kitchen for cooking big group meals.
The communal space is also large and yet cosy. Spectacular views just a short stroll away. The central heating plus gas fireplace were both fantastic. Blackheath area is gorgeous. We really enjoyed our stay!
Overall the cleanliness was good but a few negatives to be fixed:
- the additional blankets (on shelves in bedrooms, not on beds) had big stains on them.
- the bedroom curtains were quite dusty so one of us had a hay fever problem.
- one of the elements on the stove top needs to be fixed.
- we couldn’t find the ‘compendium’ with local info, but there was helpful info in the kitchen counter.
Thanks - would definitely hire Hearthstone again.

A Fabulous Girls Weekend Away
We really enjoyed staying at Hearthstone for our recent girls weekend away. 10 of us stayed comfortably in this well equipped, clean, warm and spacious house. Hearthstone has a beautiful outlook and is well located near majestic bushland. Starting from the house we did a beautiful 5 hour hike through The Grand Canyon via Govett's Leap /Evans Lookout tracks.
The only recommendations would be to put some hooks or a towel rack in the downstairs bathroom, and also to clean the gauzes on the bathroom and kitchen windows. Otherwise a perfect stay..

Very Comfortable
The house was very comfortable. Six adults enjoyed meal preparation in the full sized kitchen. Inclusion of places to hang towels would be helpful (hooks or rails on back of doors or bathroom walls).

Hearthstone is a fabulous property
Hearthstone is a fabulous property - plenty of space for a large group, multiple good sized bedrooms, huge living and dining area, well equipped (large) kitchen ... and the location near Govetts Leap means that there are plenty of excellent bushwalks in walking distance.

Pleasant surprise.
Great house for a large number of people - the upstairs of kitchen/lounge/dining particularly large and suitable for entertaining - upstairs bedrooms large and comfy, downstairs bedrooms particularly spacious, definitely the types of rooms that cat-swinging is made for - perhaps the downstairs toilet could do with a lock for privacy (extended family members are not always open to such cosy fraternising) - also a few hooks in the toilet/shower room for the hanging of clothes and towels - otherwise rrrrreet-petit!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Hearthstone. The house was fantastic - clean, spacious and well-equipped for a large group, great outdoor decks and a large cosy lounge room. The house was also conveniently close to the bushwalking tracks which we'd also recommend, the views were amazing! Hearthstone was a lovely home for the week, we really had the best time, thank you so much!
