After enjoying a good night's sleep in the king size log bed, you will want to make this your home away from home!

Start the day with a cup of coffee on the covered porch while watching the sunrise through the trees. Stay hidden away or venture out to the small town of Helen, located only 6 miles from Bear Hug. Downtown is filled with restaurants, shops and attractions. Spend the day visiting local wineries or take a hike on one of the many trails in the area. Unicoi State Park is located only a mile away from the cabin, making a leisure hike to Anna Ruby Falls very convenient. Numerous wilderness areas and state parks with trails and waterfalls are located within easy driving distance.

Bear Hug's knotty-pine walls are accented with a collection of artfully crafted birdhouses in the living room and kitchen. You will find the kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher and refrigerator, as well as both a standard and a Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy cooking a meal at the cabin, knowing you only need bring the groceries. We have the cookware and dinnerware you need stocked in the cabinets and drawers. For your convenience, there is also a washer and dryer. The cozy living room is complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a flat screen television. Curl up and watch a good movie! Or, you might decide to enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings while relaxing in the hot tub located on the front deck. Don't forget there is a gas grill on the back porch and an outdoor fire pit to enjoy!

This is now a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $25 + tax for each additional.

• Parking: Space is available for 2 vehicles.

Loved our vacation! The host communicated so great with us. It wasn’t far from Helen, GA. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was amazing to soak in after a long day of exploring Helen and tubing! We will definitely be staying again in the future!

Cozy and quiet

This cozy little cabin was the perfect place for an anniversary getaway! Close but not too close to the traffic that comes with Helen, GA. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to come back!

Perfect weekend stay

My husband and I checked in for a weekend stay and loved it. Secluded but close to town. Cabin was clean and in great shape. Retail company was very accommodating. Would definitely stay at this rental again.

Peaceful, quiet, relaxing getaway

We loved our stay at the Bear Hug Cabin! It is woodsy, quiet and peaceful. The birds and trees surround the cabin creating a lovely vibe while enjoying the hot tub and rocking chairs on the front porch. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the area!

Perfect cozy cabin for a get away

My wife and I loved staying at this little cozy cabin. It was perfect for the 2 of us to get away and relax. Relaxing in the hot tub was private and perfect. The only thing I wish that was better is to have better quality pans.

Very secluded, clean, comfortable bed!, nice hot tub(ask to have it warmed up before you arrive), small propane grill that works!, fire pit (I suggest you buy some wood because the wood on the ground around is too big and or rotted), 12 cup coffee maker(filters provided) long with a Keurig. Bring sugar, shampoo, conditioner, soap/body wash. I strongly suggest that you go to Anna Ruby Falls(beautiful) and the town of Helen.

In the Woods

Very nice cabin for two. Had everything we needed. King size bed that was comfortable. Two TV's and two coffee makers, one regular and one for pods. The drive to the cabin is on a dirt road but easy to drive on, well packed. Just a few miles from Helen and even closer to State park and falls. You will be in a wooded area but other cabins near by but not so close that you lose your privacy. I would stay again.

Peaceful and cozy stay

My wife and I chose this cabin for our 24th wedding anniversary 4 day weekend. The cabin was very nice and peaceful. Perfect size for a peaceful romantic getaway. The cabin was clean and cozy. The hot tub was wonderful even in the middle of summer. We enjoyed using the back patio grill as well. This property really had all you needed. It was so nice being very close to Helen but yet still far enough away that you did not have any of the traffic or noise. My only recommendations/suggestions are the pots and pans are old and worn and could be updated/replaced, there were flickering lights in the bedroom CF and living room CF, and the mattress needs to be replaced (the middle sags).

Great Property

This cabin was so cute and clean. There were a few webs in the high corners but i, thinking that maybe they were for decoration(not sure). There were extra pillows, towels, and kitchen essentials. The hot tub worked fine, board games and all the stations on tv worked as well. 15 mins away from all restaurants, stores and tourist attractions. The fridge makes this loud knocking noise at times but overall it was a great place to stay and yes I would stay here again.

Not too far from anything, but it seemed like you were secluded. There are cabins nearby, but you feel like you are the only cabin around. It was our 20th anniversary and the GMR team left us a nice gift! It was so thoughtful! We love staying with GMR. Everything is always great. It was such a cute little cabin. The only thing I could say is they probably need to get a few more pans and some cooking utensils. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Wine Highway Weekend

Later we had a nice fire, as well as the next morning. The cabin had been well cleaned and had a very welcoming atmosphere. With the leaves down, we could see other cabins, but we still felt private. There was very little noise, even from the highway. This is our third stay with Georgia Mountain Rentals. Every stay has been great. We have been treated professionally. It is a great organization, and I highly recommend renting from them.

Excellent Cabin for Getaway

It is a super cute, super comfortable cabin that is well stocked for an extended stay. The hot tub provided us some much needed unwinding! It was also cleaned very well with plenty of towels provided. They also gave us some starter dish soap, dishwasher pods, a new scrubber, and clean dish towel for the kitchen. It is so much closer to Helen than we thought, and even closer to Anna Ruby Falls. Georgia Mountain Rentals was excellent to work with, stayed in communication before and during our stay, and provided spot-on instructions for finding the cabin. Take our advice and locate the cabin in the daylight, and it will be easy to find afterward. We absolutely recommend this cabin for a couple looking for a cozy getaway.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary. We wanted to get away for a few days. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't stand sleeping on the bed here. It was like sleeping on the floor. On top of that, the fans were caked in dust. We have really bad allergies and we couldn't use the ceiling fans at all. The shower drained super slow, leaving you standing in a puddle. Oh and the hot tub kicks on every few hours, which i know is supposed to be routine for the machine, but it shakes the entire cabin. Especially if you're sitting on the couch watching TV or eating dinner in the kitchen. Georgia Mountain Rentals was great to work with and we would love to stay with them again. We will not be returning to Bear Hug though.

The perfect stay for me and my (now) fiancé. A warm, cozy cabin that was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway and surprise proposal. Super close to downtown Helen, but still far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the north georgia outdoors. Would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend!
