This cabin was perfect for our needs. Very clean, well furnished, convenient to the park and (especially important this week), the air conditioning worked very well. Thanks for a wonderful visit!
We enjoyed our stay at this location. It exceeded our expectations. Absolutely great location. Fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to cook here. House was clean and spacious. Would stay here again!
We had a great day in your beautiful cabin in El Porto just above a fun campground and close to a cute resort. We found the property clean well supplied and it meant our needs to be close to Yosemite! Thanks again.
You won't find a better location to stay within 30 minutes of Yosemite. Full house, hot tub, and privacy. A perfect retreat after a long day of hiking. 10/10 would stay again

Great Family home
Not much to look at from the outside and up a very steep road, but inside was a fully stocked house with all the fixings. Beds were comfortable, house was very clean and air conditioning worked, which was needed since it was 103 outside. Not sure we would want to walk back from the swimming pool down the hill, due to how steep the dirt road is, but great to have the pool available. We would definitely stay there again.
Need a comfortable place to stay after a full day in Yosemite? This place is for you since it's so close to the park entrance! Just make sure you pick up some groceries on your way in and have fun!
We really enjoyed our stay at Hite's Hideaway. The house was spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. The kitchen had everything necessary for cooking meals. We even used the barbeque. The backyard was great for spotting birds (California quail, woodpeckers and jays). It had convenient access to the west Yosemite entrance. Would definitely stay there again.

Hites hideaway is a great place to stay with lots of nice features! Great master bedroom, deck is a wonderful place to hang out and it’s very private.
The kitchen was well stocked with spices, coffee and plenty of cooking utensils. We would definitely recommend it!!
We loved staying here. It was perfect for our group! The deck was amazing and the grill out there. We spent every evening out there and the mosquitoes weren't even bad. The hot tub was a bonus! It's very quiet and secluded which we loved. It is also easy to get to Yosemite.
Make sure you bring towels for the pool and hot tub.
We gathered here with family and friends from Switzerland. We knew we had made the right choice when they commented that this was a "perfect" place to stay... close to Yosemite Valley and the many trailheads/ hikes that started there, and all the conveniences of home. Perfect week.
What a beautiful house up on the hill above the Merced River. This was the perfect retreat after a few days in the backcountry. It was very close to the main entrance of the park and gave us quick access to the Valley. Everything was clean and ready for our stay. Our friends were saying how they'd like to come back because it's the perfect house in the perfect location.
Our grandkids loved the game room and the big bathtub!
This was a clean and comfortable home for ourselves, kids and grandkids to stay at while visiting Yosemite. The steep dirt road to access the house can be a bit challenging but it’s not a long way to go. We all enjoyed it and it is only about 7 miles to the Yosemite park boundary.
This house was great for our large family group of 8. Location was great-be aware the road is a bit of a vertical challenge. Directions could be more specific as we missed the turn. You're actually turning into a camping facility. The road goes all the way thru it. There's nothing near by for shopping but a small store and gas station. Might plan for groceries in a bigger town. Great for getting to the park - close and easy. Pull out beds weren't comfortable at all. Also the tvs didn't work. Would recommend this property.

Great Home!
This house was amazing. We were disappointed when we couldn't get rooms at Yosemite. That all changed once we got to the house. I am so glad we stayed in the house and not hotel rooms. The house had everything we needed (fully equipped kitchen, coffee, spices, washer, dryer and more). The kids loved the games. My husband loved the AC (which worked great). Comfortable living area with large TV. The house was clean and well maintained. We would absolutely stay there again!
Warning: be careful of GPS directions. Ours tried to take us down Hite's Cove Trail.

One of the best rentals I have ever visited. It was clean, quiet, and well appointed. The owner/manager was very responsive. I wish I had more time to just chill at the house and enjoy the scenery from the backyard, but we spent most of our stay visiting Yosemite and other local spots. I really regret not using the grill and jacuzzi during our visit. Use of the pool at the Yosemite Cedar Lodge was great for the kids to cool off after a long hike. Just tell the front desk you are renting the cabin with the dirt drive way and they'll know what to do. Speaking of that, the road to the cabin is quite bumpy and steep. We had a loaded minivan and made it up without much concern but I'm not sure how a RWD vehicle would do on that road. All in all it was a great stay.

Great spot for visiting Yosemite!
I'm not sure you can find a nicer or more secluded spot to stay so close to the El Portal entrance to Yosemite! It took us just 10-15 minutes to get to the main entrance. We had two couples stay here for a few nights and had more than enough room. The house couldn't be more perfect - we were grateful for the lovely back porch and seclusion, especially after being around people all day at Yosemite. We knew cell service would be spotty (non-existent for us in El Portal), and the internet would be slow (fast enough to check email/Instagram), but that was great for us, as we were all looking to disconnect. Minus one star because the hot tub wasn't working. After hiking 10+ miles each day at Yosemite, we were a little disappointed. But regardless, I still highly recommend Hite's Hideaway for a Yosemite trip. If we have the opportunity to come back, I would love to stay here again!
Location was wonderful. We were not able to get tickets to Yosemite but we got up early and it was only a 15 minute drive to get inside the park. The house itself had so much space and it is exactly as advertised. The deck was wonderful and open and shaded. The only part of the property that made things a little tough was the Wi-Fi didn't work in the evenings. Not exactly sure why but after a long days of hiking we found we weren't able to relax and watch TV. But I would definitely recommend this home to anyone. And I have every intention of using the property again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
You cannot beat the location, if proximity to Yosemite (El Portal western entrance) is your goal. The house was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
