Coquina Beach is a small, family-friendly complex with only 40 units located on Middle Gulf Drive. 5E is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom second floor walk-up (sorry, no elevator) that features a sleeping loft unit that can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests.

You and your guests will enjoy this beautiful unit with an updated kitchen featuring granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and is fully stocked with everything you need for a basic meal or gourmet feast!

There are 2 bedrooms on the main level, the primary with a king bed and en-suite bathroom and a guest room with a queen bed and a bathroom just outside the door. Additional guests can sleep in comfort in twin beds in the loft area accessible by a spiral staircase just off the dining area.

The condo has 3 Smart TV's with YouTubeTV and streaming with high speed internet!

The owner provides beach towels, chairs and an umbrella for your convenience. Coquina Beach complex amenities include heated pool, gas grills and a tennis/pickleball court.

Sanibel Holiday's units are equipped with the latest Wi-Fi enabled locks offering easy check in and check out with no need to pick up or return keys. Everyone in the family can have access with one simple and, most importantly, secure code.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This 2nd floor condo is located very close to the beach, a quick walk of less than 5 minutes. The kitchen and bathrooms are all updated with new showers, granite counter tops and white cabinets. Unfortunately the master bed needs to be updated as well, as we found it to be quite soft and lumpy. New master bed linens would also be an upgrade.The listing on VRBO states "there is a reserved parking space for our unit" but does not elaborate that only ONE parking space is available per unit, with ONE guest space for the entire complex. This was problematic for us but fortunately Sanibel Holiday was able to find a solution. Bonuses include: many beach chairs, various toys and shelling equipment; Smart TV in living room. Walls are very thin, so we enjoyed all the conversations our neighbors had all week too.

Terrible, stressful experience!

The condition of this unit made it impossible for us to stay! VRBO told me in March ‘21 the owner was replacing the couch along with making other updates based on renters reviews by Fall of ‘21. Nothing had been updated by March of ‘22. The carpet was so dirty that even after I vacuumed up a bag of hair, dust and dirt, I didn’t feel I could allow two toddlers on the bedroom floors. The bedspread had blood spots on it so I purchased detergent to wash it. The front loading washing machine had a very foul odor with so much slimy black mold on the gasket that I felt it would be unhealthy to use the machine! I could have overlooked the cracked, grout less tile filled with ants that I scrubbed when I arrived and the furniture that needs to replaced along with the slip covers, but I felt the carpet and black mold was a health risk for my toddler with allergies. We ended up leaving our family that had rented a lovely unit in the same complex and rented a hotel room in Fort Myers in order to enjoy our vacation. The owner was contacted prior to this review and offered no explanation.

It was again, a very relaxing experience for the five of us. We will rent this unit again next year if it is available. Only one complaint and that is the sofa is extremely uncomfortable to sit on. We gave it a three rating only because the sofa needs to be replaced but everything else is tip top.

There was not one time that we didn't have what we needed, whether it be kitchen utensils or beach equipment, this condo had everything we needed. Property is very clean and overall well maintained though a few very small things could use some attention like the showerheads need cleaned or replaced and some of the bedding is dated but overall these weren't things that kept us from enjoying the condo.

The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Location was perfect. The beach was a few steps many restaurants and activities so close by. My only recommendation would be to upgrade the furniture in the living room. Yes, I would recommend this property to family and friends.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful location for a family vacation. Our family of 5 adults / teens enjoyed staying at this property. The upstairs area offers no privacy / access to the bathroom, so maybe better suited to a child than a teenager, but this was apparent from the photos. Sanibel is a wonderful place to vacation, especially during the pandemic, as we were able to spend most of our time either in our own apartment, or outside on the beach, which is within easy walking distance. This property is run by a rental agency, not a private Airbnb owner, so you have to go via the rental office and sign a contract beforehand. There were two maintenance issues scheduled during our week's stay, but overall the property is in reasonable condition and the rental agency personnel polite and helpful.

Reviewer Comments: While the location and size of the property was great, we were very disappointed in the overall cleanliness and condition of things in the rental- carpet, couch that literally sinks to the floor, dirty guest bath sink, and a cockroach in the master bedroom. Numerous people left similar review over the summer yet it appears nothing has been done. Had these things been addressed long ago when brought up by other renters, we would have most likely booked this place for next year.
