we had a very nice and relaxed vacation and enjoyed our stay at casa landi a lot. the house is quite spacious and the garden and pool are a great place to hangout in the summer :)
We had a wonderful stay at Mike’s house. The space is fantastic, the garden is very spacious, and the pool is delightful. There is a beautiful view of the mountains, and it’s the perfect place to completely relax. I would recommend this house to anyone.
Had a lovely stay at Villa Landi. It was really spacious for a large group and had everything you would need.
Beautiful views over the valley and the benefit of a small pool to cool off in. Idyllic location.
Comfortable Homely Villa set in the Tuscan hills. We enjoyed the views, the relaxing by the pool. Visiting both Lucca & Pisa via the train and Eating in Tuscan restaurants.
Lovely village setting. Beautiful views and very peaceful.
Village with shop and great restaurant.
River swimming nearby.
The house was comfortable and large . Great to have a pool in the heat.
We had a great time in this special house in the mountains. The host was very helpfull and the house had everything we hoped. One small Point was the size of the pool. It was good for cooling doen but too small for swimming.
Beautiful villa in a beautiful landscape. The owner is very nice and helpful. Kitchen fully equipped. Plenty of beds to choose from (attention; all furniture is antique, so the beds 😉)
Garden, balcony and pool are perfect for enjoying time together. Baby bed and high chair available.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Villa Landi is situated in a stunning location.A traditional Tuscan house oozing with character and charm,we almost felt as if time had stood still from a bygone age,but we enjoyed all the modern conveniences at the same time.Best of both worlds and perfect for our taste.
Mike was easily contactable and most helpful.
It's a holiday we won't forget in a long long time.
Thanks Mike for letting us share your lovely house.
We had a very lovely vacation in the house. It was all you may want from a holidayhome. It was nice with the ventilation in the sleepingareas, and two functional bathrooms. We didn't use the livingroom or diningroom much as we spend most of our time outdoors.
The communication before our stay was so easy and we didn't need to communicate during our stay.
We absolutely loved the outdoors and the kittens in the village.
Lovely property near bagno di Lucca. Situated high on a hillside in a beautiful setting with breath taking views. A really authentic old villa with period furnishings. A nice garden and a small but very clean pool to cool off in. You definitely would benefit from a hire car. We visited Florence and Pisa - both an hour and a half drive and also Marinello for Ferrari - a 2 1/2 hour drive through the hills. We really had the most amazing stay and really enjoyed this stunning location.
Peace, quiet and tranquility. Friendly neighbourhood.
a very spacious villa with style and perhaps quite a bit of history. The garden and the pool is a hidden gem in the middle of the mountains. It was reasonably clean and everything utility works properly. Perhaps the wifi may need a bit of updating but this is not a business conference hotel so it helps to have no signal at some corners so people can chill and have an actual holiday. We did learn a bit about the Italian recycling system along the way.
Mike's property is completely charming and it has all the hallmarks of a loved family home. Everything that you will need is provided, including a variety of games for both adults and children. The photographs of the property do not do it justice, and the pool is much larger than appears in the photo. The kitchen is equipped with everything that a cook will need. The location is just perfect and the views from the house are just sensational. We shall definitely be booking this property again. Thank you Mike. Warmest regards, Paul
We had such a lovely time…beautiful old Italian river in small village. Spent lazy days by pool, visited medieval villages, caught train to Lucca, paddle boarding at canyon parc, local festivals and much more.
House was perfect for famiky…cool and all essential facilities. Pool was perfect for cooling off during glorious weather.
Mike was really helpful with clear communication…we couldn’t have asked for more. Journey up mountain was fine…hair pin bends but not scary……not a problem.
Enjoyed by all.

About the host
Hosted by MICHAEL BARTON
My name is Mike. I first discovered San Cassiano in the mid-1980s while travelling through Italy with my wife. We had spent many years exploring the world, always curious, always searching for places that felt special—but nothing captured our hearts quite like this corner of Tuscany.
In 1985, we found Villa Landi. It wasn’t just a house; it was a place that instantly felt like home (although needed some work!). Surrounded by chestnut-covered hills, close to the thermal town of Bagni di Lucca, and embraced by the warmth of the local community, San Cassiano had a charm we couldn’t resist. So we took a leap, bought the villa, and began a lifelong relationship with this remarkable village.
Over the years, between our travels, we always returned to San Cassiano. Each visit reminded us why we fell in love with Italy—the pace of life, the beauty of the landscape, the sense of history woven into every stone, and the simple joy of sharing good food and conversation with neighbours who quickly became friends.
What makes this property unique
Villa Landi is unique because it’s a true home with history, lovingly owned since 1985 and filled with authentic Tuscan character. We have retained links to the Landi Family diaspora and have preserved their historic links to the Villa where possible. Its peaceful hillside setting offers beautiful views and a sense of seclusion, while still being close to Bagni di Lucca and the charm of village life in San Cassiano. Blending traditional architecture, personal touches, and tranquil outdoor spaces, the villa provides an inviting, genuine retreat where guests can relax and experience the real Tuscany.
