We love the Bent Apple Cottage. This was our third visit back over the past 10 years. The setting is so peaceful and scenic. Great landscape to explore, plenty of yard to enjoy with the family, and it’s only minutes away from Lansing. Consistently clean and well maintained.
We have stayed in many places close to Grayson Highlands over the years and this is the nicest by far. The house has modern finishes, decent kitchen appliances, great light inside, nice bedroom and bathrooms (we didn’t use the upstairs bed or bathroom). The private hot tub on the porch was a huge bonus. We couldn’t have a fire outside due to a burn ban but the living room fireplace is a very nice wood burning hearth. Almost wrap around deck- great views out front but tucked I. The mountains so no grand Mountain View. Really not a problem- great sky views and the place is so pleasant inside.
We always enjoying staying here. It’s so peaceful and the house is perfect. The kitchen has everything you need, plenty of towels and comfy bed. The hot tub was wonderful as well. This was our 3rd time staying here and we’ll be back again!
We enjoyed the serenity of the cabin, especially watching the cows and deer! We appreciated the cabin having all the comforts of home - from hand soap in the bathrooms to throw blankets on each chair. We'd love to stay again someday!
This was a perfect stay for a family and gathering with friends in the area. The location is just right— a beautiful mountain escape and close to the adorable town of Lansing with an awesome cidery (Molley Chompers— highly recommended), a few restaurants and shops. Even an art studio where you can book classes (Lost Province)! Thank you to the hosts for a wonderful stay.
We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with a trip to this cabin! The views from the cabin were absolutely stunning and took our breath away. The inside of the house was very clean and welcoming. The fireplace was definitely a plus. We were able to see turkeys, deer, and cows from the cabin. Our three kids loved the whole experience, making it even more special. The cabin itself was very cozy and comfortable, perfect for a family getaway. The hot tub was clean and private, with a door from the downstairs bedroom straight to the hot tub, which was perfect when we had put the kids to bed. Overall, it was a truly unforgettable trip, and we definitely plan to rent the cabin again.
We had a great time on a short trip over spring break. This is a great location for access to Grayson Highlands for hiking and West Jefferson for anything else. It's about 25 min to each one. The house had everything we needed and was very quiet and peaceful.
This cabin is in a beautiful private location nestled in the hills. It had everything we needed (amenities and peace) for a mountain getaway. We'll definitely come back again!
This is my second time staying here and just as before - it was awesome. It’s a short 20 min drive to Grayson Highlands Park and allows for a quiet, secluded, relaxing stay away. I plan to return again next year!
Fourth time our group of fly fishers have stayed here. Besides the closeness of streams to fish, there are many other activities and sites to visit for non fishers. The property is always super clean and has everything you need for meal prep and cooking. Owner promptly replies to any request or question.
Lancing family Xmas vacation/ 4th year anniversary
This property is amazing. The owner had Xmas decorations out for us and made the whole place magical. This was a surprise gift for my kids and they loved it. Was a much need family trip! Thank you!
This was our third stay. It’s a great cabin just secluded enough. Owners are excellent and checked in on us after a big storm went through the area. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay. Great time to be alone with family to have good chats. No traffic, noise, congestion of the town. Just pasture, some livestock here and there, beautiful mountain land (which is one reason I live here).
