The Castle Casita is historically a schoolhouse refurbished into a one bedroom guesthouse next to Stone Castle (main residence on property). A stone wall surrounds 1/3 private acre, secluded yard with sole access to small stone built chapel and ten foot stone outdoor fireplace. The entire property is over four acres of private lush desert with over 60 majestic saguaros, many native desert cacti and other fauna with native trees on 360 degree hill top to enjoy mountain & city views. Secluded, yet only a ten minute drive to several major grocery stores and restaurants, and just a hop skip and a jump off interstate 10, truly an easy find. A quick note on parking; there is room for two vehicles to park in the designated parking area for the Casita. If you need additional parking for gem show trailers, etc, please just ask (permission required)!
When you arrive, you will find a well appointed kitchen with electric range with glass cook top, full size refrigerator, and counter top microwave. The living room is just off the kitchen with a dining area for you to enjoy meals or set up your remote office. Plenty of seating and room to snuggle in with a book or enjoy the view from the four picture windows. Continue on into the bedroom with a newer comfortable king sized bed with extra linens and pillows to use during your stay. Additional seating is set in the bedroom for dressing or reading. Walk in closet is ready with hangers for you to move in. Full bathroom offers a sink, toilet and shower/ tub combo, with refurbished ceramic tub. Heading back through the living room, walk through the door to the covered patio / porch where there is seating to take in the majestic views.
Outdoors you will find natural desert landscaping which attracts native wildlife including birds, deer, javalinas, bobcats, etc. (please do not feed the wildlife). A sparking pool will be calling your name and is exclusively yours during your stay.
Looking for outdoor activities? Road bike cycling is available just down the drive on Sweetwater with bike lanes. Mountain biking and hiking trails are a short drive or ride away, which will take you up and through the Tucson Mountains.
The location of the Castle Casita is what is truly MAGICAL about this peaceful Tucson Mountain hideaway as it is less than a 15 minute drive to Downtown Tucson and the western most Sun Link Modern Street Car stop. The Sun Link starts its route at the on the Westside of downtown at the Mercado District of Menlo Park. Stroll through the Mercado District which boasts a European Style Architecture neighborhood, perfect people watching with beautiful murals to enjoy. The Mercado hosts some of Tucson's best restaurants including La Estrella Bakery (operated by a well known local Mexican family), St Augustine's Kitchen, Seis Kitchen (regional Mexican cuisine) and not to mention the shops full of High Class Treasures. Don't miss out on The Annex just down the tree lined street which hosts outdoor events and houses many shops and eateries. The Sun Link Street Car goes into and through Downtown Tucson to the University of Arizona ultimately ending at the furthest stop at UA Banner Hospital. Along this route there are endless spots to jump off the Sun Link to eat, drink, shop and wander through galleries and museums.
