This cottage was so well-suited to our needs and personalities it was almost uncanny. After an extremely unsettling few months because of the coronavirus, I convinced my husband we needed a respite, especially with our anniversary approaching. This lovely cottage in Blue Hill was just right: it is pristine and simply furnished with everything you could possibly need supplied. The bed was very comfortable and the first thing I noticed was two reading lights over the bed, as though made to order for us (we arrived with 9 books between us...). we went hiking every day, ate ice cream in the village every day, and cooked simple meals at "home." I highly, highly recommend this cottage and the care and thoughtfulness the owners have invested in it.
This cottage is full of surprises! Very
quaint with beautiful textiles throughout
and a piano in the living room.
Owners easily accessible and attentive.

My family was able to spend a few days in June at the yellow cottage. It was adorable and suited our family perfectly. Our boys had their own rooms and we had our space. Our boys also loved the swing in the yard. The area is beautiful. Overall, we loved the yellow cottage!
Property as described. Owners weee very helpful. Close to Acadia NP

About the host
Hosted by Meredith
We fell in love with this special part of Maine 20 years ago and have been coming every summer since. My husband and I are professional musicians and love that this small community is filled with musicians, artists, writers and people that work with their hands. I am originally from Virginia and my husband grew up outside of Philadelphia. We met as students at Juilliard in New York City and share a love of nature and the outdoors.
Why they chose this property
After renting houses in the area for many years, we finally bought this warm and inviting home in 2005 to use as a summer house. Since then, we built another house on the property to accomodate our growing family. This sweet house holds a special place in our heart as it was where we fell in love with summers in Maine!
What makes this property unique
There is a swing and a large backyard for kids. We love the large deck- listening to the birds and enjoying long sunny days and the fresh summer air. We've enjoyed many meals in the sunny eat-in-kitchen and screen porch. Please note- there is no dishwasher or tv, but there is wi-fi. The house is convenient to all services in Blue Hill- a well-stocked grocery store, co-op, post office, wine shop, coffee shop and local bookstore. Other gift shops and restaurants are within an easy drive.
