About this property

Fabulous Cottage on Pristine Broad Bay

Recent renovated 1,500 sq. ft. light-filled mid-century cottage on a beautiful peninsula overlooking Broad Bay. Eight acres of open fields down to one of the most pristine saltwater bays in Maine. Two private suites, each with their own access to the large open cedar deck with plenty of seating for sun bathing in the morning and cocktails in the evening. An outdoor shower for those who hate to come indoors. A fully equipped cook's kitchen. Washer and dryer. Three zones of air conditioning.

Dutch Neck is a peninsula jutting into one of the last pristine bays on the mid-coast of Maine. Feast on local lobster or dine in one of many great local restaurants. Bring your boat because there is a paved launch ramp just down the street. The fishing is great.

Waldoboro is on the Medomak River, at Muscongus Bay. It was originally a German settlement and was known for its local shipyards, which built five-masted schooners in the 19th century. Waldoboro is within easy reach of the Midcoast towns of Pemaquid, Damariscotta, Boothbay, Freeport and Portland to the south and Rockland, Rockport, Camden and Belfast to the north.

Artistic Vibe

Very clean, well appointed modern minimalist decor. Rural setting. Walk to waterfront was enjoyable. Plenty of room for four. Well stocked kitchen. Host was communicative and helpful. Only downside was one bed was a full size which was tight for two. Check in and out was amazingly easy.

Visiting daughters family

This was our second stay at the sunny cottage! Clean, roomy, 2 updated baths and a nice kitchen! The cherry on cake was air-conditioning for those hot days… and Maine does get them! Eric is a quick communicator if any questions arise! The location is convenient for day trips to local towns! We love the view from the back deck morning and evening! We hope to return!

Yearly visit to Maine and Family

We have made a yearly visits too Maine the last several years to see our daughter and grandchildren who just happen to love close by this cottage! The cottage was as it is pictured bright and sunny and meticulously maintained! The two bathrooms for two bedrooms were a treat… Both baths were spacious as were bedrooms…..( only negative was that one bedroom has a full size bed and we are not petite of frame) The kitchen was well equipped and new! The view from the living room over the sloping hill was pretty all day long!….. The owner is nearby and checked in for any questions we had!….. we would love to come back!

Spacious

Tastefully furnished with authentic beautiful mid century furniture. The appliances, sheets, and cook ware are top of the line. It’s a perfect cottage for 2 couples as there are 2 large bathrooms. I particularly appreciated the lack of dusty Maine knic-knacks.

Peaceful spot in Waldoboro.

Loved the outdoor shower and wandering down to the river. A lovely spot near some gems: Odd Alewives Brewery and abroad Cove Marine Supply.

Fabulous Fall Find!

Over the holiday weekend, we visited this lovely home and had a wonderful time. It was a very restful and comfortable experience. The setting is beautiful; the back lawn opens up to a view of colorful autumn leaves and water. It is in a quiet neighborhood with many stores and things to do close by. The house is exactly as listed. There is a large open living area with a fully equipped kitchen attached. There are plenty of pans, dishes, utensils, etc. to be able to comfortably prepare meals. There is a washer and dryer also. In addition, on either side of the living area, there are two bedroom suites with attached bathrooms. This was terrific for us as we were 2 couples traveling together. We had a few glitches but Eric was quick to respond and help us out! We would love to return and would highly recommend this listing to anyone needing a Maine escape!

Artistic Haven

We could not have enjoyed our visit to what we called the “mid-century modern” house in Waldoboro, Maine more. Filled with art and carefully selected true mid-century modern furniture, the home offered a modern, well-stocked kitchen, very comfortable rooms, and was spotless. Fresh flowers were on the table. There is a manicured path to a gravel beach on the adjacent property, and gracious hosts living next door. When we had trouble figuring out the cable access process, the owner graciously came over to demonstrate use of the remote controls. Multiple quiet air conditioning units allowed for custom temperature control. We used our stay as a base from which to explore local towns in Maine, and look forward to returning to the Mid-Century Modern Home.

We have being coming to Maine for 35 years. We never tire of it. The beauty, the weather, the ocean, and the people never fail to amaze us. Life is simpler here. The days are long, unfolding in the summer in the early hours of the day and extending well into the evening. We relish every minute. Sailing, swimming, hiking, gardening, picnics with friends and trips to the islands; the possibilities are endless.

What makes this property unique

This a great house for people who love simplicity and great art. The house is light-filled and restful, with plenty off places to read or just relax. The two bedroom suites are separated by a large living room, ensuring plenty of privacy. Each suite has it own entrance to the deck. The path to the bay is filled with wild flowers and places to picnic. It is an artist's paradise.
