Great time on Hideaway Beach

Property was as described. Check-in was smooth. Contact with the property management was very responsive. TVs were in 2 of the 4 bedrooms. There were a couple of box fans available for use. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Heated pool was a plus!! The resort itself had a nice pool and hot tub. I’d recommend staying here.

The property was nice. The twin beds were not the most comfortable. Better mattresses would’ve worked as they are very thin. Other than that, very comfortable home.

Stayed Jan-Feb - Pool was great

Definitely not up to my standards of being clean. Since we were staying 6 weeks we needed to clean the 1st couple days to be more comfortable. The best part was the heated pool . It was worth the extra $ since we rented in January-February. No basics provided- like salt & pepper - dish cloths, plasticware, pans are in bad shape, all cupboard doors were sticky, no working vacuum, patio chair cushions need thrown out. Would have been nice if they would provide a couple beach towels or some board games or simple floaties for pool. The resort was a half mile away- a nice walk- pond was nice to walk around. None of the doors or windows seal very well so you hear next door renters really well. Probably won’t come back to this area due to the high traffic everywhere you go. Beds were hard but we preferred hard rather than mushy. No curtains in the whole house except for one bedroom. Lighting is terrible. Property Manager responded quickly to replace a lounge chair that had holes in it.

WiFi Sucks for relaxing days

We had days planned to be away from the house all day into the night with children of various ages. We had two days planned to stay at the home so that my husband could work remotely and my daughter to complete college assignments remotely. The little ones were relying on WiFi to watch their videos. The living room tv was connected to the WiFi so it wasn’t working properly either. The lack of the expected WiFi was extremely frustrating and made this vacation less than pleasant. There was no solution provided from the management company other than to unplug and plug the router back up. That didn’t work. The second call to the management company was a waste because the man told me that it was too close to closing time for him to do anything about it. Oh well. That’s that.

Hi Lakeisha Thanks for the review. We are sorry that the internet service at Terra Verde was patchy during the July 4th weekend. Unfortunately, the problem was due to the fact that the whole resort was fully occupied, every vacation rental home in the area had guests, combined with all residential homes being full. This led to an overload of usage with insufficient bandwidth from the providers to service all of the people using the internet and devices that weekend - the busiest weekend of the year. This problem was, unfortunately, a common issue in many residential areas too. The Wi-Fi in the home is 500mbps as delivered by the service provider. We regret that, other than general troubleshooting and calling the provider, we have no control over the speed or reliability of the Wi-Fi in the homes that we manage.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, The Unfortunate – July 2021

The property manager was notified of all the house items mentioned below on the first day we checked in and did nothing. This is an honest review of a recent stay at this property. The Good: The location of this resort is centrally located to the theme parks and anything you'd want to visit in Orlando. The resort was gated and the staff at the clubhouse was very friendly. The house was located on a dead-end street so there wasn't a lot of resort traffic noise. The house backs up to the community wall so no back neighbors, only side neighbors. The communication pre-arrival was great and check-in was easy. The Bad: This rental has the WORST mattresses on all the beds. I've seen newer mattresses in better condition on the curb waiting for trash collection. Each bed makes a noise when you sit on them and felt like we were sleeping directly on the boxsprings. We bought mattress toppers and my son opted to sleep on the couch (which is not a sofa sleeper, as it says in the listing) during our entire stay because of the awful beds. Burn holes in the carpet, broken blinds, stains on the furniture, broken patio furniture, holes in the pool area screening, appliances are very old and partially broken, limited kitchen items (utensils, cups, bowls, etc.). Also, you need to bring toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, soaps, etc. Doors aren't great and neighbors are close so it seemed like they are talking in your lanai areas all hours of the night, bring a sound machine if you are trying to fall asleep before 1:00 am. The temp of the house wasn't able to go below 73 and it got steamy some nights. The Ugly: There is a leak in one of the bathrooms that has caused damage to the wall of the twin bedroom that backs up to it, the leak has been there so long that one of the twin headboards next to that wall is rotten, stuck to the wall and has black mold all over it. The Unfortunate: This resort has a lot of turnover from rentals. We had new neighbors on both sides of us every couple of days. Some people pack in a lot of people into these houses and had 5+ cars parked in various places on the street/driveway and it was tricky to navigate when driving back to the house at night. Also, although we can't confirm it, we are fairly certain that the people staying at the house next door on the last two nights of our stay were sneaking in our screened-in lanai and took pool toys and beach towels, make sure to bring in valuables each day/night to be safe.

Since your stay, the owner has totally refurbished the home, including replacing all beds, mattresses, sofas, bedding, furnishings and décor. This includes a remodel of the kitchen and bathrooms, a new roof and a resurface of the pool.... it's like new now. Unfortunately, there are occasions when guests staying at nearby homes make noise, which is out of our control as we don't manage or operate all of the homes in the area. If ever that happens, please just call us and let us know and we will inform the HOA for the resort, who can take action. We hope that you'll come back and stay with us again soon. We apologize for the delay in response, but we didn't see your review due to a technical issue.

Mi experiencia!

En general fue muy bueno. Super comoda, tenia todo lo que necesitamos. Algo que no me gusto es que la casa dice que aloja hasta 10 personas pero solo hay camas para 8 personas. Al preguntarle al anfitrión sobre eso me respondió que las 10 personas caben usando los 2 sofás que hay en la sala y solo en uno cabe una persona. Al final tuvimos que gastar dinero comprando dos colchones inflables. Por otra parte los colchones de las habitaciones son un poco duros.

Extrañe mi casa

La casa no fue acogedora como se veia en las fotos o como estoy acostumbrada a las vrbo’s que he usado. Necesita un poco de manteniento, las camas, las puertas, las percianas. No hubo lo necesario para nuestra llegada - falto papel higienico, jabon de manos O por lo menos nos saben dejar jabonsillos pequeños. Tuvimos que llegar a conectar el televisor de la sala y solo habia acceso a netflix en la habitacion principal. La ubicacion de la casa estuvo lejos para poder usar las instalaciones comunitarias. La administración tampoco respondio prontamente a nuestra necesidad. Y debido a todo esto la casa me hizo extrañar mi casa. Algo que no espero de un viaje familiar

Great place to stay with families

We really enjoyed the location which was close to the tennis courts and we did not have noisy neighbors day or night. The beds could use new mattresses though, but the kitchen was roomy and love the seating arrangements with 2 tables and the bar.

Nice but needs to be updated

The house is nice but it definitely needs to be updated. Good Points: The check-in process was easy and works well, especially if you arrive after hours. The number of bedrooms & bathrooms and general layout are good. There was plenty of shared space in the family/dining areas for us to have meals together and play games. It was great to have the pool at the house. The community is nice, gated and you can get to most places within 15-30 minutes, including Disney Springs, outlets, Walmart Supercenter, grocery store, restaurants, International Drive attractions, and Universal. Bad Points: In the kitchen, only 2 of the 4 burners work on the stove. The kitchen table extension was uneven on one side. The internet code initially didn't work but magically worked after I called the management company. The tv in the family room is too small for the room. The listing says variety of cable channels but cable only works in the family rooms, not the bedrooms. In master bedroom 1 no cable tv channels, but at least it had access to Netflix. In master bedroom 2, there was a tv but it had nothing. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. One of the lounge chairs on the pool deck was broken. Housekeeping could have done a better job because there was a hair in the refrigerator when we arrived, there was a dirty cup in the cabinet and there were only 2 washcloths in the entire house. Some of the furnishings and bedding look out-dated and/or old and need to be replaced. The sheets and towels are poor quality. There were large bugs in the garage where the washer/dryer were located, but thankfully not in the other areas of the house. The grill that we rented from the management company was dirty, missing pieces and had lizards in it. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves but it definitely would have been a much better experience if the house was more updated and the owner/management company put a little more "love" into the home.

Unfortunately, there are occasions when guests staying at nearby homes make noise, which is out of our control as we don't manage r operate all of the homes in the area. Since your stay, we have added a starter of laundry detergent, dishwasher tabs, trash bags, more soaps, condiments, coffee, etc. We've also doubled-down on our cleaning processes to improve them and inspect prior to guest arrivals. Nice but needs upgrades

The overall property was ok, but it needs upgrades to the furniture and TV's. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and there was a fly infestation in the outside trash cans so anytime you opened the door to the house or got in your car flies would come in. Additionally there is no King size bed in the property, and only 3 small TV's in the property, but none in the 2 bedrooms with the twin beds (kids room).

Hi LaToya Thanks for your review. This budget home is one of the cheapest available in the area and the price reflects the amenities provided. We were surprised to read that you were unhappy with the bed size - especially as we are careful to make sure that the bed sizes are clearly described on the advertising for the property. We have checked and the advert doesn't appear to have any mention of a king-size bed in it, so maybe you mixed it with another advert? Also, the advert clearly shows photos of the rooms and it doesn't claim to have TVs in every bedroom, so we are concerned that you believed it would have on your arrival. However, we are sorry that you had a problem with flies in the outside trash cans. This is a common problem in Florida, as some guests dispose of their trash without bagging it. While we regularly clean the trash cans and they are emptied by the county each week, there are sometimes issues with houseflies around them in many homes.

The house was pretty good, great location and didn’t have any problems.

My overall experience was good. The only thing I would say is the beds were pretty hard. Very cozy small intimate house for a family. I would recommend this house to anyone; great neighborhood and experience!
