The 1st Baseman is only 2.3 miles to Cooperstown All Star Village, 2 miles to Cooperstown Baseball World and only half a mile to downtown Oneonta shopping and restaurants. This ground level apartment with central air-conditioning and off street parking is perfect for a single or a couple!



This one bedroom apartment offers a queen size bed, a spacious living room complete with a 55" (or larger) smart flat screen Roku TV, a modern eat-in kitchen adorned with gorgeous granite tiled flooring, high speed wireless internet (Wi-Fi), ample off-street parking, and an exclusive to this unit, a private outdoor space complete with a gas grill for picnics and barbeques. For your convenience, the building features a shared on-site laundry facility.



Larger Group? There are two more apartments in this property, "2nd Baseman" and "3rd Baseman", all with separate entrances, to make it convenient for groups of families attending the baseball camps together.

I am Jerry, your host. I was born and raised in Oneonta and I live in the area. I am just 15 minutes from the property and I can easily be reached at any time via call or text should you have any questions or issues. You will be greeted by me or one of my teammates at the property. We will get you registered, give you the keys and a brief orientation to the property to get you settled in.



This is a perfect location for baseball families! Just a short walk to the downtown area, and a little over 2 miles to All-Star Village. Easy to come back between games or during a rain delay. The community pool is just a little over a mile away for some downtime recreation for the family.



There are taxi companies in the area and the public bus, but Uber and Lyft are pretty scarce. Having a car is recommended to fully enjoy the area.

Exactly as advertised

The rental was exactly as advertised. It’s only a couple miles from CASV, with access to their overflow parking on the same road. It’s right near downtown. The First Baseman has its own little private area to BBQ and sit outside. I highly recommend this rental.

First Baseman

Our stay here was great. They supplied a lot of extras. There were paper plates and a couple bottles of water already in the fridge which was great since we hadn't made it to a store yet. Also a great goody bag with extras like popcorn. We also received the all important trading pin that was a huge part of our trip for our sons baseball. Would definitely recommend if you're going for All Star Village, only a few minutes away.

Low ceilings

The 1st Base rental was clean, and the A/C worked great but had a foul smell that came from the floor vents. (like old cat pee) The listing did not mention the ceilings are about 80" tall. (some doors didn't have enough room on top of the door for the whole door frame) Thankfully we are not tall or that would have been really claustrophobic. The house is about 5 minutes from ASV and in a good neighborhood.

Thank you for your feedback. The ceilings are lower than normal, but the door frames do fit. It is the door header casing,(trim) that is scribed to the ceiling which can be seen clearly in the pictures in the listing. The central air conditioning was installed a few years ago and all our units are pet free. I assume you are referencing the bathroom floor vent, which was just replaced prior to your arrival. I can only surmise it was fresh paint smell. Based on your feedback, I have also replaced the central AC filter a week ahead of schedule.

Cooperstown Baseball

Only complaint is they should have had curtains in bedroom. Street light shined through shades and had trouble sleeping. Bed rolled all over the place and could injure someone.

I am glad you had the opportunity to come watch your grandson play baseball. I enjoyed our chats during the week and hope you were able to find a copy of our coffee table book, Fantography, to purchase for yourself. I am sorry that during our chats you didn’t mention that you were having troubles with the street light or the unlocked casters on the bed until you were getting ready for checkout on Thursday night. Both of those items were addressed within 24 hours of my learning about them. Had you informed me of these issues earlier in your stay, I most certainly would have corrected them promptly to make your stay more enjoyable. I am disappointed that you didn’t communicate your needs prior to checking out because they were easily corrected and I could have made your stay more enjoyable.
