Sweet condo with fabulous beach view

Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, seasonally-heated swimming pool (mid-March through October, as needed) and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

Generally try to book 13A as owners put a lot of effort into keeping anemnities up to date. This condo is very nice. Prices have gone up a lot over the years. I understand this is necessary, but I noticed several empty rooms this year (middle of June) which is not typical. I hope this doesn't continue to be the trend.

However, the bedroom furniture needs a major overhaul. Broken drawers and outdated beds/mattresses make it hard to be comfortable. The condo was spotless when we arrived.

A Little Piece of Paradise

Reviewer Comments: We had a group of 30 that came to see my youngest daughter get married on the beach.All the rooms were a little different but all were large enough for us to do what we needed. They were basically clean, could have used a little elbow grease around floorboards and on the walls but I'm a clean freak so that just may be me. We had an amazing time the entire week. All our neighbors were kind and joined in on the celebration.

Great condo.

It’s a great condo right on the beach. They have a great pool, and security there is nice. My only problem is that after 10pm, you’re apparently not allowed to be outside. The security guard they have, granted was an older man, but continuously asked if we were going inside. Even though we were quietly sitting on the deck, talking after the kids went to bed. Even though there were all kind of younger kids running around, causing chaos and raving all over the property. We weren’t even allowed to be outside. We were told “10pm is quiet time, and we expect that rule to be followed.” None of us were even being loud? We just sat, drinking a few beers and talked about plans for the zoo the following days. I won’t return to Sandpiper.

While most of the amenities were ok, here were the fixable issues that need addressing:The room was not clean. Bedspreads were filthy and actually changed colors when we washed them. The bathrooms were not clean and required us to clean them.Carpet was not vacuumed.The dryer was broken and noisy...we called maintenance and nothing was done.The second bathroom shower has a drainage issue and has for years. Been reported more than once.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As a repeat visitor I was always satisfied with the Sandpiper until this time. The condo was well decorated and tastefully refurbished, but the floors had obviously not been vacuumed, swept, nor mopped. The counter top had spilled, dried coffee beneath the coffee pot. The air-conditioner was broken but was immediately repaired. The largest drawback is that this property is not smoke free. Smokers on the verandas completely destroyed the ambiance. The no-pet, parking and curfew rules were not enforced. I shall not return which is disappointing to us because of the unique, beach accessible design, and good experiences in the past. (Has smoking always been allowed?)

Great condo and great location.Our only issues with the unit is the beds are so big in the 2nd bdrm that you can’t get into the closet. Also, the chest has a broken drawer.Why can’t you heat the pool? It’s too cold every year. Makes no sense. Everyone commented on this issue.

Beach rental chairs need to not take the entire beach front so the patrons can have access as well. There were 31 people in our group with 8 condos and we could not get a set in the front row.

Loved the newer larger washer and dryer which was a nice change from the older/smaller set. Loved the new bathroom showers. Also had new microwave and oven. We have been coming to the Sandpiper since the 80's and will definitely continue to stay there.
