This hideaway cottage/cabin is fully equipped with everything from home. Enjoy the creek sounds from the back porch at night watching the fireflies dance by. Brevard, NC is only 20 minutes away, Dupont State Park is 10 minutes away, Davidson River and Sliding Rock in Brevard is a highlight of Brevard. Pretty Place (Camp Greenville) 10 mins away perfect for wedding ceremonies. Our family of 5 stayed for a visit to The Pretty Place Chapel. House was great, everyone had their own little personal space. Great location to not only The Pretty Place Chapel but many other sights like waterfalls, hiking trails, wonderful restaurants & coffee shops. Would say a 10 out of 10 trip!

Restful Springtime Holiday

Perfect spot for a peaceful holiday in nature. Great location for walking trails and cycling. We also enjoyed spending time in Brevard. It's a lovely welcoming town with lots of creative vibes and a great bookshop. Earth Mountain Bicycle (bike hire/shop), Brevard Yoga Studio and Brevard Pottery are all highly recommended.

Perfect Mountain Escape

My family and I really enjoyed our weeklong stay at Bear Creek. In addition to relaxing in the country, we saw lots of wildlife around us. We will definitely stay again.

Bear creek vacation

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. We unfortunately were evacuated due to wildfires in the middle of the week and Jan was very helpful, caring and accommodating for us as we had to leave abruptly in the middle of the night. Otherwise the property is beautiful. The cabin is spacious and feels like home and we loved the kitchen and location to near rivers and waterfalls.

Perfect Getaway

We chose this place because it was close to where I am currently working. My family was able to come up and spend a week with me while I still went to work. The cabin was perfect and well stocked with everything we needed. Very quiet area and close by to hiking trails and waterfalls. We loved it and hand a great time

Lovely Mountain Retreat

This cozy house in the mountains was perfect for our quiet retreat. It is close to nature trails and feels nicely secluded in the woods. The house is beautifully decorated with large open spaces conducive to our time together. The property manager is courteous and responsive. Highly recommended!

Mountain Escape

The home is very charming with all the furnishings and decor. The home is off a windy road, but we are used to it as we have been traveling through the NC & SC area for the past 10 years. This is exactly what we needed to escape from FL and enjoy the cool mountain breeze! The outdoor deck is amazing just gazing at the trees and watching the hummingbirds. We enjoyed cooking smores out front in the fire pit. The neighborhood is quiet, and neighbors were friendly as you wave to them while driving out on your journey. We were also greeted by a dog from down the street which was very friendly.

Just Visiting

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was lovely! Check-in was easy, it was very peaceful, and clean. I would have liked a heads up that the grocery stores are really far away coming up through South Carolina and that the closest ones are located in North Carolina. Also, when the water ran, the toilets bubbled. When we would flush the toilet downstairs it shot water up onto your bum in the upstairs toilet and visa versa. We were not aware that we would need to haul off trash either. It costs $3 a bag to dispose of at a recycle center that is located 10 minutes away. Overall we had a really great time and enjoyed the peace of the mountains.

Stay was very private. Loved the cabin and area. Cabin was clean. I’m picky about cleanliness. Host was very friendly. Liked having the gas fireplace. Kitchen was good. Only cooked once there. If you plan to cook a lot, bring aluminum foil, plastic wrap and baggies. Just make sure you bring your own spices. Also bring shampoo , body soap and a couple rolls of toilet paper. I would suggest putting trash cans in the bathroom. The only real problem we had is it smells like mold in guest room and bathroom. Oh, we had a bat in the house the first night. We didn’t leave any doors open. So I guess it was a squatter. There are so many things to see and do. Absolutely beautiful. We would definitely come back if the smell is resolved.

Beautiful and clean. Very nice neighbors across the street called the host for us, as we had no cell service there, and could not access our entry code. There was a musky smell in the small bath/laundry room. I think it was coming from the shower. Some sort of exhaust fan in there would probably help out.

Wonderful Cabin in the Trees to unwind

The cabin was very easy to find and very convenient having a drive in and out driveway. Lots of room for parking even we didn’t need it all. The outside made you feel like you were in a fairy wooded landscape and so beautifully green! The property is just breathtaking and so relaxing in the trees. You hardly ever hear your neighbors or see them. The firepit in the front of the house was very well setup and great chairs around it to enjoy almost every night. So many lightening bugs to count when we enjoyed fires. Very easy to get into the house with a code on the door. The kitchen was strange layout but nicely worked! Lots of options for cookware and a pull out trash can. The wood accents and floors all around were so beautiful and very well taken care of. Kind of strange without a shower in the master bath but we loved the rock floor shower in the main house bathroom. The washer and dryer were very convenient and nice machines. The master bed was so comfortable and a ton of room in the closet and dresser. The master tub was huge and a great spot to wind down. The family room area was super cozy. The back porch was used for so many hours the whole time we were there! We worked from there and enjoyed family time in the trees. The lovely hummingbird feeder was always a joy to watch our 3 visitors every day. Loved the cabin and wonderful hosts.

Relaxing place to stay

This beautiful cabin is well maintained and was a wonderful place to just relax. The area is lovely with lots to do and see. We enjoyed the waterfalls in the area. It was so refreshing to get up in the morning and drink a cup of coffee on the back porch. Overall just a great place to unwind and get recharged!

Amazing!!!

Bear Creek is nestled neatly in the woods near DuPont Forest and Brevard, NC in Cleveland, SC. Quaint, clean, comfortable, and private! Beautifully decorated and equipped with all the necessities to make it home away from home! Thankful for the gas fireplace for those cool mornings and evenings. Beds are super comfy! Everything was just perfect! So close to Pretty Place Chapel, Brevard, and all the waterfalls nearby. I was with 4 kids and we all enjoyed the exploring area around the cabin. Can’t wait to return!!

Perfect Ratings for a reason!!

We visited the area for my son's wedding at A Pretty Place chapel, and needed a place to stay for my family. It was so close to the chapel, less than 15 minutes away. This property had excellent ratings all the way around, that is why I chose it, and it was PERFECT! It had EVERYTHING you could wish for in a mountain getaway. The pictures do not do it justice, it far exceeded my expectations. I would love to visit again, I just need an excuse. You will not be disappointed.

Time to relax and reset

Bear Creek is very inviting, well stocked and comfy. The back porch is amazing for morning coffee and the fire pit is perfect to end the night with a cocktail. Exactly what we needed to visit with dear friends, relax and reset after a few crazy months.

Just be a little more specific or direction to take the garbage to the recycling center. It took us awhile to fined it. Just tell them to turn right at the dollar store. (They hide it well)

What a great place

Long weekend with some lifelong friends. This is a great property, very comfortable and inviting. All my communications with the owners were seamless and all questions answered quickly and completely. Small things add up, and you can tell that the owners have done a lot of little things that add a bit of an upscale feeling to a very comfortable place. I wouldn't hesitate to plan another trip here.

Beautiful property in the mountains

We had a wedding to attend and loved this property. It was very clean and was exactly as described. The only negatives I have are it needs more light in the downstairs bedroom. I couldn't find extra normal sized trash bags. Also it's very strange that most of the windows didn't have blinds or curtains and you can see directly into the house at night. However none of these reasons are enough to drop a star and I would definitely stay there again. Thank you

The cabin was a dream and we broke ground in 2007 to build Bear Creek. During construction, a friendly bear was seen many times at the creek watching as the construction progressed, so we named the cabin "Bear Creek". There is no better place to come and relax after working in the city. Bring your CD music and play your favorite mountain tunes! My personal favorite is watching the sunrise with a hot cup of coffee on the back porch. At night you will enjoy the mountain sounds, tree frogs and katydids will sing you to sleep.
