About this property
Eagleview Retreat Guest House. Two lodgings in one
Welcome to Eagleview Retreat Guest House. Home of the breathtaking Kootenay lake and surrounding Mountains.
This is the entire guest house (including a completely PRIVATE lower suite) Located in an absolutely beautiful area. This is a luxurious 12-year old, 3000+ sq/ft home that has just been recently furnished with all new high-end furnishings, including all bedroom suites and mattresses.
Relax inside or out in TOTAL privacy! Our place is everything you’ll ever want in a “get-away” resort, you'll not be disappointed.
Let’s start with the best part, a huge balcony with spectacular views, and plenty of yard to relax in. You’ll not have any trouble finding the comfort you need. TWO fully equipped modern kitchens, a luxurious living room upstairs with it’s cathedral like ceilings, as well as another down stairs. With two brand new 55” and 46" smart TV's with Netflix and a multi-media player in the living room upstairs, you’ll easily find something to entertain yourself if that’s your wish or, curl up in front of the gas or electric fireplace and enjoy a good book.
Located near Balfour, we are the best of both worlds. We’re very close to the city of Nelson (with its funky & dynamic city centre with brewpubs, coffee shops, restaurants, parks and shopping) yet also conveniently located close to Kaslo, Ainsworth Hot springs, golfing, Skiing, and several other attractions found in the pristine Kootenay Lake area.
We are striving to create a “Retreat” atmosphere to relax, unwind, and enjoy after a busy day of biking, motorcycle riding, skiing, golfing, shopping or any other activity you have enjoyed in the beautiful Kootenays.
Our place is amazing because of the perfect location & peacefulness. You will truly enjoy your stay!
*** FAMILIES!!! ***
We have loaded the downstairs Toddler room with a a very LARGE selection of toys, books and games for your young ones to enjoy!!!
*** ATTENTION ATV RIDERS, RV'ers and BOATERS***
We now have plenty of FREE, secure, outdoor parking facilities just a few minutes down the road. Let us take care of your toys while you're relaxing or exploring the other many attractions the Nelson area has to offer.

About the host
Hosted by Charlotte Cooke

We are a pair of adventurous "World Travelers". We have both made our living by working on ships and the marine industry. We have traveled the world and now found our new lives together in the Kootenays.
Robin,
I was born in Victoria, BC. I am a Chief Engineer presently employed as an Chief Engineer for the Kootenay Lake Ferries (Balfour & Osprey 2000). I am an avid Motorcyclist I presently own a Ducati (Hypermotard 1100) street bike and Honda 450r Motocross bike that I can’t spend enough time on. I have excellent knowledge of all the local highways and by-ways and would love to share that knowledge to fellow street riders. I am presently still exploring the motocross trails and would be happy to provide some guiding or other support for your rides.
Now that I found myself in the Kootenays, I am becoming an avid outdoorsman again. I am taking up Hunting, fishing, and trying to get back into x-country skiing and snow boarding.
Before my present career, I was employed with Carnival UK (cruise ships) out of Southampton, UK for five years. I was traveling the Mediterranean, Baltic, and Caribbean seas with all of the beautiful Ports they offer as a First Engineer and Environmental Officer. While employed with the cruise ships, I made Thailand my home for five years where Charlotte and I explored S.E. Asia together. And Yes, I did meet Charlotte on the cruise ships. She was employed as a “Events Officer”.
Charlotte,
I was born in Wiltshire, England (near Bath which is famous for the Roman Baths and not far from Stonehenge.)
I worked for P&O cruises for nine years in that time completed 2 world voyages, contracts were 4-5 months and we would meet the ship in port anywhere in the world and sail where the ship was based for that season. I met Robin onboard whilst working together & moved to Canada six years ago and love my new home.
Now my (our) life is all about our Infant daughter Isabella (6) and our son Oliver (4). They are my full-time career for right now.
