About this property
Singles, Couples, and Family-friendly centrally-located Summit County Condo
A wonderful getaway just a mile up Wildernest Road, with a 15 minute drive to Keystone, 20 minutes to Copper Mountain, 20 minutes to Loveland Ski Area, 30 minutes to Breckenridge and 30 minutes to Arapahoe Basin.
This "no smoking, no pets" condo has a Master bedroom with attached 3/4 bath and a second bedroom with a shared full bathroom. Each bedroom has two Twin XL beds which can tied together with a "Create-a-King" set to make King beds if desired, which makes it great for families, two couples, or even a group of guys. (Best to give me your bed configuration in your reservation request so I don't have to ask later.)
The living room has a sofa, gas-burning fireplace, 40" HDTV with Dish Network and DVR, Blu-ray player, Roku 3, two footstools, two lounging chairs, and lots of board games.
There is shared WiFi with download speeds up to 200 mbps.
The kitchen is fully stocked, with free coffee, creamer, condiments and spices included.
The dining room seats four at the table and three at the bar-height counter. There is an empty utility closet to stow your ski gear and a bench in the entry way to remove/put on your boots.
I personally use this condo a lot more than I rent it out, and do not use a professional management service, so expect personal touches instead of professional ones -- if I leave a half-used tub of margarine in the fridge, please forgive me, but hey, now you don't have to buy margarine for yourself.
In full disclosure, some notes:
1.) There is no clubhouse available, nor hot tub or pool.
2.) Check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m. but I am very flexible about this, so please let me know your arrival / departure times and we can work something out.
3.) In the winter, there is a minor knocking noise coming from a radiant heat pipe above the kitchen ceiling.
4.) The laundry room requires a short walk outside and costs ~$4 to wash and dry per load. I supply detergent and quarters.
5.) The upstairs neighbors are nice as can be and typically there only on weekends, if at all, but you might hear footsteps above you sometimes.
6.) I have few reviews since I used to only advertise on "that other site," and I have a snowboard addiction, so I'm more interested in using my condo myself than turning it into a business.
7.) Parking has gotten a bit tight on weekends and holidays, so it might be best to keep your car parked by 7 p.m. on those nights and stay in.
8.) The oven is a little slow to heat, so allow 30 minutes
9.) There is sometimes a slight rattling fan noise from the fridge
10.) The shower handle must be lifted up hard to open and close
11.) The couch is a sleeper sofa with a 5" foam mattress, but the mechanism puts a bar beneath your back, so I don't advertise it as such. However, it is okay to put the sofa mattress, or the provided air mattress, on the floor if desired.

About the host
Hosted by Brian
Dallas native, moved to Denver in 2011. I'm an avid snowboarder, so I use this condo as often as possible during the ski season, and a fair amount during the summer since I work remotely. This is my second home and not an investment property, so I don't rent it out nearly as much as most VRBO's.
Why they chose this property
I picked this condo because it was in great shape, the bedrooms face away from the street and are therefore quieter, and it rocks. Also, I didn't want to pay extra for a clubhouse and hot tub I wouldn't use, and neither should you. I enjoy looking out the windows at the nearby mountains and being able to hike or bike in the nearby Salt Lick Trail System without getting in my car.
What makes this property unique
The beds do NOT have headboards for a reason -- they are Twin Extra Longs on wheels, which give more legroom for an adult as well as allow them to be tied together to make King-sized beds, if desired. This gives more flexibility for setup -- for example, a group can all sleep separately, or two couples can each sleep in King-sized beds. Just let me know your preference ahead of time.
