Composition: 3x bedroom, 2x bathroom, 2x WC
NOTE: This property is available, but a couple amenities have been affected by the recent hurricane. The house, interior, services including water and electric are available and on. Wifi is on.
This home suffered no interior damage and is outfitted like the vacation rental it is. The outside and grounds are not the same, but a majority of work is completed. About 12-5 trees have been removed which came down. Carport is gone, and the cage is gone. A new cage has been ordered and may take until spring next year (2024). we are told we are about client 500 on their order list. The pool is up and running and the deck and pool surround looks like it was always open.
There is access to drive and park and use the house. NO OTHER amenity is represented except the fully working house and pool itself.
Thank you! , BEST David
The property has a pier for your boat, a number of sitting areas, a wedding platform, a yoga or meditation wharf, the pool a large lanai cover which can sit 8-10 persons. The parking can handle 4-6 cars with ease. There is a small craft dock and over water bar, which is accessed through a secret mangrove tunnel leading to Ainger Creek and Lemon Bay.
Note, Florida is known for weather extremes and storms which can affect mowing and pool schedules. And summers have bugs. Please bear in mind this is a large property and this can affect some amenities and there can be gaps in some services. Thx
The canoes, kayaks, row boat, sup, etc., all come with the rental and are not charged separately as in individual rentals. Most are available and ready to use. Some of these anemities rent for $60/day from rental outfits, but with us these are self-catered amenities which we keep in repair, but may need a wiping before use and, per the posted signs, are to be returned as found by prior guests for the next guests.
Walking around the property you will see palm frons and pine branches and many cones that a Florida windy night can bring down, and these are dealt with on the next mowing.
This is become a very popular children's vacation, with a great modern and durable home, and bikes, canoes, kayaks, piers for frogging and fishing and mooring your boat, pool and room to run and play. Also we are popular for adult getaways to smoke by the pool and enjoy the utter privacy here. And sophisticated folks, certainly older but all ages appreciate the monthly renting we do all winter, with many repeat customers year after year. But this is not a resort with every amenity hand rubbed and polished between rentals; inside pretty much yes, but not out on the grounds and around the piers.
Lastly, we might leave condiments that prior renters might leave. This is very popular in our West Coast rentals, but occasionally we hear some are offended here. Please do not use anything you do not wish to and throw out what you deem. But this is part of the farm style home we offer, more casual than other places. The interior of Shady Pines, with her new wood look solid tile flooring and our nice and clean but not expensive furniture is very children friendly and safe from damage claims for you.
Amenities: bed linen & towels, air conditioning, heating, heated swimming pool in a large cage, free wireless internet, pets are welcome, a free cot, baby crib, air queen bed and extra linens in a closet. Smoking allowed, outside only.
Included are:
2-4 canoes, full size which carry 1-2-3 persons
3 kayaks
SUP stand up paddle board
paddles and vests
2 person double-oars row boat for fishing
Ainger Creek and most of Lemon Bay are about waist high! The bottom is firm and except for the cut in boat channels, you can stand up for safety almost anywhere. Very family friendly. Take a bottled water, wear a life vest and hat and bring your phone in a ziplock for safety.
Boat Rentals, we can recommend a Boat Company that stocks professionally handled boats for rent that can be rented by the day or week. The pontoon and deck boats fit with our pier, which can vary from 2.5ft to higher in the tides and will not be useful to large drafting boats. We have 2 Pictures of 2 of their craft sizes, the Keener Skiff is 200/day and the Beachcat 23 is 300/day. We will give you contact info to check current pricing and availability. These can dock and tie at our pier and provide a day or days of fun or fishing ( or both of course!). There is a weekly pricing as well. This outfit is a 3 minute drive from Shady Pines and a 15-20 water ride back. Very close. This rate mentioned would include a 20$ discount offered to our guests and you arrange and pay directly with the rental folks.
NOTE: On low tide we can have down to 2.5ft at the end of our main pier. Good for deck, hurricane and pontoon boats and other light draft craft. The winter has these lower tides. The summer averages higher, up to 4ft consistent. The 1 bridge out to Lemon Bay is listed at 11ft on the Angier Creek Park (Public Launch) website, which is right there.
We do weddings too!! Elopements really, with very small parties. We arrange the ceremony onsite and we have the equipment.
A great place for a retreat from the world for 2 to 8 or more. This location can handle a reunion or small/medium wedding or vow renewal. The home is air conditioned, the pool heated and the cage around the pool makes relaxing outdoors easy.
Shady Pines is kayaking/canoeing or walking distance from Cedar Point Park, a huge preserve and natural habitat of Old Florida.
The pictures show:
Some of the pictures show Cedar Point and the trails, kayak launch and wildlife signs!, one of the last remaining large tracts of reserved undeveloped land as a Park on Lemon Bay in Charlotte County. With 115 acres pine flatwoods covering over 60 % of the park, Cedar Point also has scrub, scrubby flatwoods, mangrove swamps, salt marshes, and wetlands. Cedar Point is within kayak and canoe distance or a leisurely 10 minute stroll to Shady Pines. This is a highly fortuitous aspect to our vacation rental. The several pictures of a family canoeing and kayaking and paddle boating on the estuary are actual guests enjoying our boats.
Cedar Point Estuary: within walking distance:
Many species of animals inhabit pine flatwoods at Cedar Point, including bobcat, grey fox, yellow rat
snake, pileated woodpecker, and bald eagle. The scrub and scrubby flatwoods are very dry areas slightly
higher in elevation than pine flatwoods. Scrub habitats in our area are found near the coast and original
creek waterways, and are in fact the remains of prehistoric dunes. The dominant plants found in scrub are
dwarfed, tangled-looking oak trees (sand live oak, myrtle oak, and Chapman’s oak) rusty lyonia, pawpaw,
gopher apple, with scattered slash pine and saw palmetto.
Mangrove swamps are tidal wetlands that inhabit low energy shorelines in the coastal areas of southwest
Florida. Mangrove trees are specially adapted to salt- and brackish-water environments. The species
found in our area are red mangrove, black mangrove, white mangrove, and buttonwood. Mangroves
provide habitat and nursery grounds for many species of fish and invertebrates. They also provide nesting
site for wading birds including anhinga, black-crowned night heron and the great blue heron.
Salt marshes are tidal wetlands characterized by expanses of grasses, rushes, and sedges. Typical plant
species found in our area include smooth cordgrass, black rush, salt meadow cordgrass, salt grass, and sea
oxeye daisy. Salt marshes are very ecologically productive and serve as nursery grounds for fish, crabs,
and shellfish.
Situated on Lemon Bay, a long narrow estuary, Cedar Point is a great place to see wading birds in the
mangrove fringes, watch for dolphins near the adjacent seagrasses and explore the pine flatwoods to find
bald eagles, gopher tortoises, as well as a myriad of native plants.
Shady Pines is ideally located hardly 1/4 mile from shopping and services. There is a Publix within walking or biking distance and the Englewood beach is a 2.3 mile drive by land. Also Stump Pass, where the Lemon Bay opens to the Gulf of Mexico, is a 2 mile trip by water.
Manor road is a strip of upgrade waterfront homes fronting Ainger Creek. The Park's 1.3 acres is a long rectangle with the home well set back off the street, which is on one end, and the waterfront is on the other.
