Can Miguel is a very comfortable house that has most of its rooms on the ground floor; the kitchen-lounge-dining room has 2 sofas, Satellite TV, DVD, free Wi-Fi, a wood-burning stove and dining table and chairs. The kitchen is very well designed in the Majorcan style, built with a lot of storage including a dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Also on the ground floor are 1 double bedroom and a bathroom with bath and shower. On the first floor there is a gallery with a relaxing reading area that has spectacular sea and mountain views and the 2nd bedroom with twin beds and an en suite bathroom. Can Miguel has been designed for you to enjoy and relax on your holidays: swim in the pool, sit and eat out on the large terrace, use the BBQ or simply watch the animals (horses, peacocks and chickens) and collect some fresh eggs.

We had a great time at this house. The pool was also super as well as that we only needed 8min to drive to the beaches! We also had a very warm welcome by the owners and several times fresh eggs (-:
My family and I spent 2 weeks at the villa and loved everything about it. It is clean and well looked after, it has a good selection of household items you might night. It is a great size for a small family. The villa is in a great location, just on the outskirts of port pollensa. You can see parts of the sea and the port from the upstairs balcony.
The owners match the villa, they are fantastic! Helpful and available if needed.
We had our first family holiday here and it was exactly what we had wanted. Our 2.5 year old was thrilled to feed chickens and a pony everyday. The house was clean and well equipped, we were very well looked after and brought fresh eggs throughout. The beds were lovely and firm, showers powerful and all the appliances worked perfectly. They even had toys for the pool and beach. A short drive from Pollensa and Andalusia, it was perfect for daily excursions without it being overwhelming for our little one. We loved it, thank you!

Sehr angenehmer entspannter Aufenthalt
-Jederzeit gerne wieder!!!!
Fantastic week away with friends. Lovely property with good size pool. Location is within easy reach of Port de pollenca and Alcudia. Would recommend a car.
We spent four days with our kids aged between 18 months and eight years. The property is exactly as described. The pool and the space around the villa are excellent. We highly recommend renting a car to visit neighbouring towns.
Stayed here on the 1st of August for 10 days 2 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 11.
We arrived at the villa on 1st of august 2019 greeted by the owner she was very nice and plesent she showed us around the villa, the villa was really nice, very homely and very well equipped with everything you needed. We had a fantastic holiday and we really enjoyed swimming in the pool which is big too. We stayed in a few nights and had a bbq and played ping pong which was another added bonus. We enjoyed the company from the cats to which was very tame and all they wanted was a bit of attention especially the white stripped one which was like you own little shadow where ever you went you can guarantee he was there. The villa was lovely and it was really nice that the chickens and cockrells was free to wonder yes they is cockrells but their never woke us up so nothing to worry about. We hired a car to go to pollenca and alcudia but at night we used the taxi which cost us about 15 euros into alcudia but there is a restaurant 10 to 15 mins walk from the villa that is really nice and the food was lovley ,we found ola's and another steak house in alcudia not sure what it's called but it's on corner next to the Irish bar that did really nice food too. We would deffentley stay here again and we would recommend this villa to family and friends too.
The property was easy to find and reflected exactly as described online.
There were also some basic commodities left which was a welcome surprise as many companies empty all the cupboards. For example, salt, pepper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. even ice was in the freezer for that all important cool drink on arrival.
Cati was excellent to deal with throughout andthe villa is so spacious and nice and clean. Lovely grounds and pool (and wonderful to have the 4 cats around!) x

Spacious, rustic and well equipped
We had a lovely time here. It was perfect for our small family and had everything we needed. The pool and garden are beautiful and there is plenty of outside shady seating. It is about 10 mins drive to Puerta Polenca which has lots of restaurants and a great beach for young children. Really loved this place. My 5 year old is desperate to return.

A superb villa in a perfect location
I stayed at the villa with my husband and 3 year old son at the end of June. The villa was clean, spacious and well equipped. It's in a lovely rural location, very private and enjoys stunning views whilst being only 5 mins drive from Alcudia and Pollenca. We loved the fact that there are 3 different outside dining areas from which to enjoy the views. The pool was amazing, a great size and depth and a lovely temperature thanks to the warm weather!
Ines was also very helpful and quickly dealt with any queries we had both before and during our stay.
We would definitely recommend this villa, it is simply lovely and a superb family retreat, but there were just a few small things that stopped us giving it 5 stars:
1. We would have liked a small bar of soap or some handwash to be included in the bathrooms. I appreciate the villa is self-catering, but most villas we have stayed in over the years usually include some hand soap in the bathrooms. We all like to freshen up and wash our hands after a long journey! Perhaps this is something Ines and Miguel could consider including in future.
2. The shower head was missing from the walk-in shower in one of the bathrooms. This effectively meant that the bathroom was out of use. We were surprised this wasn't mentioned to us on arrival, as it must have been identified as a known issue when the villa was being cleaned and prepared for our arrival. It wasn't a big problem and we actually managed to resolve this issue ourselves by transferring the head from the shower over the bath to the walk-in shower (we preferred to use the walk-in shower as it was easier and safer for our little boy than showering him in the bath).
3. Finally, we had a few instances where my husband and little boy slipped on the tile floors in the villa. Admittedly, this was entirely our fault as we had entered the villa shortly after coming out of the pool (because our little boy was desperate to use the toilet). We just wanted to highlight that you need to be extremely careful when walking in bare feet if there is any water on the tile floors.
The above are all very minor issues and overall we loved the villa and had a very enjoyable stay here. We would definitely recommend the villa and would stay here again if we ever visit Majorca in the future.

My retirement treat for my family
Having spent a week with my partner in Palma and on the west coast/mountains on my retirement, this lovely villa allowed my daughter's family to join us for a week. The bedrooms downstairs made an ideal private suite for them while my partner and I had the upstairs mezzanine to ourselves. My two young grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the animals, although the adults were not too keen on a cockerel who thinks dawn is at 02:00! The villa was spotlessly clean and well provisioned, and the location is ideal for exploring the northern half of this beautiful island. The views from the upper balcony were spectacular, and it was great to sit and have breakfast and evening refreshment up there to catch both the rising and setting sun across the sea and mountains. It would have been nice to have had single beds which zip together to make a double upstairs, as pushing the two singles together didn't really work. This would allow Ines and Miguel the flexibility of making it into either a twin or double room. That said, it didn't detract from a wonderfully relaxing time in this charming villa helped on its way by a week of beautiful sunshine. I wanted to score 4.5 stars but couldn't do the extra 0.5.

Beautiful Villa in Beautiful surroundings
We stayed in this wonderful villa for a fantastic holiday with four adults and two children. The villa is beautifully presented and is really a home from home, with that personal touch given by the owners Ines and Miguel. The gardens and pool are fantastic and a long driveway and large gate means its really safe for young children running around. The villa is really close proximity to Puerto Pollensa, Pollensa and Alcudia, all within 5-10mins drive and all within a €10 taxi journey. There's lots of beautiful restaurants close by and our personal favourite was Can Cuarassa which is within walking distance from the villa. There's satellite TV and free wifi which is excellent and again particularly useful when you've kids.
We had a truly wonderful stay and we hope to be back again soon. Thanks again to Ines and Miguel for making this a wonderful holiday for us in their beautiful villa.

Lovely villa and very pretty location
Can Miguel is a lovely villa in a very quiet, pretty, relaxing location. The property and gardens are beautifully maintained. Ines and Miguel are lovely, friendly and helpful, welcoming people. The area itself is very nice with lovely beaches and plenty of very good restaurants. Plenty to do on the island too. Hopefully we will return next year.

Fantastic house and lovely contact!
We are just back from a fantastic week at the house. We loved every minute and there was nothing missing to make our holiday perfect. The house is beautiful and super clean, the pool amazing. We also loved the location and the animals. Hopefully we'll be able to come back and visit soon. We stayed with a little baby and both our parents and the house is perfect for 3 couples. Amazing time, keep up the great work guys. Lots of love from Australia!

Lovely place
We stayed for a week in September, and enjoyed the beautiful house, garden and lovely pool. The view to the mountains was fantastic. Everything inside and outside was so well maintained. We love animals, and we did enjoy to have them around us. Cozy. We enjoyed the wonderful beaches and tried to find some not so full of tourists. Difficult however. The weather was great too. The house is not "so far away from neighbours" as I prefer, but it was okay. No hotels nearby. The salty water in the taps was a little minus. You cannot even cook tea or coffee from this water. But having shopped an enormous amount of bottled water, it was okay. If you arrive late, please bring water with you. We had a lovely stay and we miss it all very much. Thank you to the owners for letting us stay in this beautiful house. We like to come back.

Peaceful & relaxing
The villa is in a lovely peaceful location with lovely views of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting up on the balcony watching the sun go down. The villa was nice and clean, we did find the beds a bit hard but we all slept well and it probably did our backs good!. The pool and garden were lovely, with chickens providing lovely fresh eggs. A car is essential but everything is just minutes away. Lovely restaurants in both Peurto Pollensa and Alcudia, which was really lovely as there was lots going on with a little fair for the children and a band playing through the lovely streets around the castle. We enjoyed a beautiful meal at Can Carussa ( i think that is what its called, by the kite surfing beach) a bit more expensive but lovely food. Had a few takeaways at the villa which we got from the Codfather fish & chip shop and we found an italian and chinese takeaway also in Peurto Pollensa. We had a lovely relaxing holiday in a lovely location

About the host
Hosted by Inés Daum
Miguel and Ines are working people who live in Pollensa town during the summer, but we like to live at Can Miguel during the winter when we have no clients. We both have horses that live in the fields around Can Miguel. I, Miguel, am a gardener and manage the land of nearby fincas, and also help my parents with their land and animals. For some years I worked at Rancho Grande, near Can Picafort, and also in Teneriffe as a riding guide for day and night excursions. In the past I completed the famous Ruta Santiago in Spain but now my riding is local. I'm also a qualified chef. I grew up in Mallorca but Ines is from Germany and came to work in Mallorca initially as an au-pair. She now works in the local Hospital as an administrator and translator for English and German visitors to Mallorca.
Why they chose this property
I bought the land on which Can Miguel is built 18 years ago. The first thing to do was to build stables for my horses and prepare an exercise yard for them. I chose the location because it is near Pollensa, and still close to the finca where I grew up. The house is within walking, and riding, distance to the sea but far enough away from any crowds to be always peaceful. Step by step I built the house, put in a pool and began summer rentals a few years ago. This year (2011) we have added a third bedroom and second bathroom on the first floor. We now have a comfortable home, with space for the horses, a pretty garden where our chickens can run freely and which provides a simple, peaceful holiday house from May to September.
What makes this property unique
Can Miguel is close to the lovely beaches in the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia, and the many restaurants and shops there. But its location just a little inland provides a completely peaceful environment. One special feature of a holiday in Can Miguel could be a ride in a horse driven trap, with me, and you would usually be able to see our horses in the nearby fields. The house features our life with horses, but it is not essential to be a rider or even a lover of horses to enjoy a holiday here!
