The Big Chill is a perfect location for your mountain getaway. 3 Master bedrooms with bathrooms, one on each floor with ceiling fans in each bedroom. The master bathroom features a Jacuzzi jetted tub.
Amenities include a 40 inch smart TV in the living room with cable as well as a Blue ray DVD player. The cabin also features high speed wireless internet. The living room with its spectacular high ceiling, features a wood burning fireplace with plenty of wood available. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you would need to make a meal. Two covered decks are located above a tranquil pond. The main floor deck has a Weber grill for your grilling needs as well as rocking chairs. The path beside the cabin leads to outdoor fire pit. A perfect place to toast marshmallows and make smores with the kids. The loft area with it's beautiful views and comfy coach and chair provide the perfect spot to curl up with a book or magazine from the growing mini library. Downstairs is the perfect spot to relax after a long day on the slopes or hiking trails. There's a game table for your favorite board game competition or card game. There is also another big screen TV and DVD player as well as a Playstation 2. A great room for movie nights. A tankless water heater means you'll never run out of hot water.

With easy access off North Carolina Route 105 on all paved roads, The Big Chill is conveniently located to many fun attractions --- Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Appalachian Ski Resorts; Valle Crucis, home to Mast General Store; Horn in the West Outdoor Drama, Grandfather Mountain, and Tweetsie Railroad. Also, don't forget about Hawk's Nest Snow Tubing and Zipline and a beautiful hike to Otter Falls which is right in Seven Devils.

*Does the Big Chill have central air conditioning? No it does not. We have found that it rarely gets above 80 degrees in Seven Devils in the summertime. If you open the windows and turn on the ceiling fans the cabin cools down nicely.

* What is your security deposit policy? There is no security deposit collected at the time of rental. Your credit card will be held by VRBO until my property manager assesses that no damage has occurred to the cabin (up to 14 days). This policy is designed to keep our cabin in pristine shape for all of our renters. If I don't report to VRBO that damage has occurred, the hold will be released after this 14 day period.

* Is four wheel drive required in the winter months? The town of Seven Devils has a chain ordinance that states Whenever the Town Manager, Police Chief, or Public Works Director determines that travel by motor vehicles on Town streets is hazardous due to snow, ice or a combination of both, the traffic-control device (flashing sign) at the entrance of the Town of Seven Devils shall be clearly illuminated, stating that this chain law is in effect, requiring:
A. Chains
B. Snow tires
C. Four-wheel Drive (or AWD)
D. A combination of the above.
The town of Seven Devils does a good job clearing the roads (all paved) after a snow fall. This includes the road which leads directly to the cabin.

* Does the cabin provide keyless entry? Yes it does. Once your reservation has been set, I will send you your personal 4 digit code the week of your visit.

* Do you offer long term rentals of the Big Chill? We do not offer long term rentals at this time. The longest rental available is for a two week period.

* Can I smoke in the Big Chill? No. There is no smoking of any kind allowed anywhere on the property. Any evidence of smoking will result in a charge to the renters credit card.

*Does the Big Chill allow pets? We do not allow pets of any kind.
