Thank you for your lovely review Hannah. We are so pleased you and your friends enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure to host you.
We had a tremendous family weekend, thoroughly enjoying all the water activities on the lake and tennis. It worked well for our mix of ages and was enjoyed by all. It was a great chance for the grandchildren to learn/practice new skills and the adults enjoyed it too. The warm weather helped!
Fantastic place to stay, lovely house, some pieces of furniture are very dated but the house is extremely clean & well equipped. The lake setting is fantastic with boating gear.

Thank you for your review and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. With regards to the furniture, it is a family home and is furnished with a mixture of modern and antique pieces collected over the years by our family.
Well equipped house with comfy beds. The land around the house and the views of the lake are what make it special. The kids enjoyed exploring the woods nearby and rowing on the lake in the boats. Lots of wildlife around and a fab pub in West Dipping within walking distance though the fields (although I wouldn’t try the walk at night!)
Lovely holiday home, but the real bonus is the outside space, the lake, the woodland and the amazing views. We would love to come back and enjoy this house in the warmer months.

The location of Lake Lodge is beautiful. The grounds are lovely and well-kept. The house is exceptionally well-equipped with everything you might need. The house and furnishings are a bit dated, but comfortable and functional. Wonderful kitchen.
I would definitely recommend this property. We had an amazing tim. The property and surrounding area is beautiful. The hosts are very nice and we are grateful to be given the chance to experience their beautiful home. We had a chance to fish, go in the lake on the boat and kids had plenty of space to expolore and play.

Thank you Ann for looking after our house so well. It was lovely to see the photos of you and your whole family enjoying all the facilities. We would love to see you back one day.
Lake Lodge was perfect for our 60th birthday reunion. It was so well equipped, from the kitchen to the outdoor spaces. We were blessed with a wonderful warm weekend and so we sat out on the terrace most of the time with the view of the lake in the back ground. We swam, rowed and paddled the extensive lake, admired the bird life, played tennis and walked the woods. The perfect place for older children and young at heart adults. The house is easy to navigate and so comfortable, feeling like a real home from home. We would recommend and certainly return with family and friends.
A very unique place with a spacious, comfortable house, a large lake and extensive grounds. Lots of wildlife and a huge variety of trees. 6+ our grandson. Plenty to do if you fancy a trip out. We had a great time.

Tony was a very considerate guest and was excellent at communicating, even notifying us of some damage and replacing it himself. We would be pleased to welcome him and his family back.
The property is spacious and clearly a well loved family vacation home, which has been extended and up-dated but retains period features. There are two bedrooms upstairs with en-suite facilities and two ground floor bedrooms which share a bathroom and a separate lavatory with wash-hand basin etc.
Lakeside Lodge is well equipped with all that guests could need and has a terrace with out-side dining seating with a charming view of the lake,

We had a wonderful stay at Lake lodge with 3 generations of family members. There was so much to do. The house was very clean and had everything you needed. The tennis court was put to very good use and the lake and grounds were amazing to explore and reconnect with nature. Thank you Maggie and Dan for making is feel so welcome and for being great hosts. We could not have asked for anything more to make out family break special.

I cannot praise Lake Lodge highly enough! The house is so comfortable, spacious but cosy, and very well-equipped. Maggie the host could not have been more helpful in providing everything we needed and sending us lots of useful information in advance. The boating, sports facilities and wildlife watching were perfect for our family group. We can’t wait to return!

Thank you for your great review.. we look forward to seeing you again
Just blown away - amazing property prepared with care by the owners, comprehensively equipped. The lake was an amazing feature and we spent some time idling on the boats in the sunshine. Could not have wished for anything better. Thanks Maggie.
It was by luck that I found this property and can honestly say the photos dont do it justice. My Jaw dropped when I arrived. The location is easy to get to and the house and grounds are kept immaculate. The lake is just something else and boosts this wonderful property. Communication with Maggie was efficient and seamless. We were 3 generations stayimg here and had the privilege of creating some memories in a beautiful setting. Thank you Maggie and family for opening your home to us

Spectacular
Lake Lodge Maxie is simply beautiful. I don?t think the website does it justice; it?s perfect in every way. We were a Burghley Horse Trials party of 8, all friends and family and I also did a dinner for 12. Everything I needed was there; I didn?t need to ask for anything. The Lodge is so well laid out and such a wonderful space for entertaining. But it?s the location that makes it special, right on the lake and to get up in the morning and sit outside looking at the glass image of the mature trees all-round the lake is just spectacular.
We went boating, walked in the woodland round the lakes, played tennis, sat on the terrace thoroughly enjoying the view, what more would you want.
I?m going to recommend Lake Lodge to all my Facebook Friends; it?s a gem of a house on the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire border.

It is always nice to hear that guests have enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the house and using the facilities that we provide as we try to make the house as much as a home from home as we can.
Lake Lodge is a brilliant place to stay. The house is lovely, comfortable, clean and spacious, with everything you need whether you've booked for 2 or 8. We were a group of 7.The views from the living room are superb, over the lake so you can sit and enjoy the lake and the birdlife from the comfortable swivel armchairs (these are brilliant!). The kitchen is also a good size for cooking. But it's the outside of the property that really makes the stay special. There's a good size table for outside eating. We used the kayaks and rowing boats every day, visiting all 3 of the linked lakes. Swimming in the lake is easy and warmer than expected. The tennis court is a good alternative for the more active and there are various walks around the grounds/woodlands. You can also walk to other lakes and the local villages if you want to.There is abundant birdlife to spot around the lake, in particular nesting herons and white egrets, and also in the woods. There is also other wildlife to spot. The owners provide a checklist to assist in spotting the birds, mammals and fish. Finally Maggie, the host provides all the information you need and responds quickly to questions.100% recommended as a place to stay.
Great for all ages, peaceful, lots to do and just a wonderful place for some much needed family time.

About the host
Hosted by Maggie Tebbit
We run a family farm, together with our daughter and son-in-law, about 30 miles away from Lake Lodge which is Maggie's family home, built by her parents. We have been running Lake Lodge as a holiday let for thirteen years and often stay at our cabin in the grounds where we enjoy meeting some of our guests. Maggie was born in Maxey and several of her family still live there, so she knows the area well and can provide plenty of local information. We do much of the maintenance work on the house and grounds and are constantly thinking of new ways to change or improve the property.
Why they chose this property
To keep this wonderful house in the family we completely renovated it to make it suitable as a holiday let as it is in such a stunning location and ideal for family holidays. Guests can either have a relaxing holiday or an energetic one with tennis, rowing, kyacking, walking on site and golf or cycling nearby, so it is suitable for all age groups and very popular with multi-generation families. We have many repeat visitors each year who return for the peace and quiet, views and fact that the house is so well equipped.
What makes this property unique
Lake Lodge is a quiet calming oasis with wonderful views over the lake. Whatever the weather guests can either relax in the lounge or out on the patio and enjoy the scenery and extensive wildlife including otters and kingfishers on the lake and in the grounds. For those wanting activity they can step out of the house and straight into the rowing boats and kayaks which can be used all year round, play tennis on the hard tennis court or take advantage of both the footpaths in the grounds or the many local footpaths through quite countryside and along the local river and canal. Round off the day sitting on the patio sipping drinks and watching some spectacular sunsets or in winter months sitting in the cosy lounge that has a Smart TV to keep you entertained. The house caters for all ages and is perfect for either a family get-or groups of friends meeting up. Many choose it to celebrate a special occasion.
