We stayed in this home while our son received medical treatment. The hosts were welcoming, informative and generous. The house is lovely and comfortable. It is located close to the museums and central to most things. The house is clean, and the neighborhood is safe. The neighbors were kind and friendly as well. We will definitely love to stay here again!
We needed a place to stay for a month while my wife recovered from cancer treatment. Everything was perfect about this place.
The owner was kind and very responsive. The neighborhood was perfect location with parks and museums close by. It was the perfect place to heal, relax and recover. Being three levels it has lots of stairs which actually assisted in her recovery and kept us all in shape.
We need to return again in the months ahead for a couple of weeks for follow up treatment and plan to stay here again.
This place is everything and more.

Paul, thank you for your kind words and for being such a great guest! I look forward to you staying again. Shelly
Such a beautiful home! We stayed here for a couple months while my father received treatment at MD Anderson. Very spacious and a perfect location for family to come and visit during our stay. Having the museums and zoo within walking distance was perfect! So much to see and do while also being able to relax and rest. Home is also close to some pretty descent restaurants. Beds were very comfortable, high end appliances and furniture. The attached garage and front deck was also a great bonus! Neighborhood is lovely and pretty quiet, neighbors were also very friendly. Shelly & Jennifer were so helpful any time we needed anything! Very responsive! They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
This is a great house in the museum district of Houston. The street is quiet and the neighborhood is gorgeous. MFA, MNS, CAM, Cullen Sculpture Garden (with the Bean), Hermann Park, and McGovern Centennial Park are all in walking distance (furthest is .8miles away). You can take a short ride by car to the zoo or the Children’s Museum. The Medical Center is just a hop, skip and a jump away. Incredible shopping area in Rice Village or travel over to the galleria. So many wonderful culinary experiences around this abode as well.
Working with Shelly & Jen has been super simple and they are great with communication. A wonderful house (and owner) for any 30+days stay!
Our second time at this lovely townhome. The place is so clean and elegantly appointed while still feeling cozy. It is set in a lovely, convenient and friendly neighborhood. The outside patio spaces are amazing. It feels like our own home away from home. Additionally, the owner is sweet and accommodating and easy to reach. We love Bartlett! ❤️
We enjoyed our stay at the Owls Nest. It was fully stocked with everything we needed and more. It was comfortable for us and our adult daughter. Lovely area to walk or ride bikes. Great outdoor patio shaded by a beautiful tree. Would recommend to friends and family!!
The property is beautiful and very convenient to many parts of Houston. It is located in a quiet, attractive neighborhood. The owner is easily reachable and is both cheerful and informative. We didn’t want for anything other than our own groceries. We felt comfortable from day one!

Simply superb, all round
At the outset, we were a little worried as this place was almost exactly what we wanted but only accepted longer-term stays (and we wanted 13 nights). Shelly and Laura, however, were very accommodating and the booking was smoothly and easily handled, even from the UK.
We arrived fairly late into the evening and the hosts had provided essential supplies to welcome us, and had even let our friend (a local who lives just around the corner) collect the keys for us. The management and service we received were first-rate throughout the entire process and I cannot fault it. Every question, concern or query was answered promptly, accurately and with the minimum of fuss. We only got to meet Laura once at the end of our stay, but she was lovely and I cannot praise her enough.
As for the property itself, the pictures accurately represent the quirky layout, I think - and it is as good as it looks. In addition to what you see here are a large garage (which just fit our rental minivan), a utility room with washer/dryer, a sizeable front deck (with a gas grill), and two communal pools to the rear, secured and privately shared among the block. We found the latter to be quiet almost every day and a real boon for the kids.
In the kitchen, there are lots of utensils, crockery, glassware, cutlery, and cooking pots of all shapes. There are the requisite huge oven, microwave, oven, hob and fridge/freezer, and every electrical gadget you could want. My favourite morning routine was grinding fresh coffee beans and filling up the machine for 4 cups to kick off my day.
The bedrooms offer ample space, with large closets and furniture. The antiques, objets d'art, and pictures that adorn walls and shelves are very tasteful, making the place feel like home rather than a temporary pied à terre.
If this is the right location for you, among museums, the zoo, parks and the medical center, don't hesitate to book. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. And don't miss the boutique shops of Rice Village, by the way - so many hidden gems.
