Charmingly renovated cottage.

This charmingly renovated cottage forms the annexe to a beautiful, 18th century family home situated just a couple of minutes walk from the pretty pebble beach and high street of the attractive seaside town of Budleigh Salterton. The cottage sleeps four and is ideally suited to a couple or small family. The front door leads into an open plan kitchen/sitting room with fully equipped modern kitchen and pine table with seating for four. The sitting area has a two seater sofa and two comfortable wicker chairs, a flat screen TV and DVD player and a French style wood burner. Stone stairs lead to an pretty double bedroom offering glimpses of the sea from the window seat. The smaller children's room has a single bunk bed and plenty of space for a travel cot. There is a private, south facing courtyard and patio garden with outdoor furniture where you can eat outside and have BBQs. French windows lead out from the sitting room area.

Perfect Location and Lovely Home

This was our second time staying here and it was just as lovely the second time around. Katie was a wonderful host, very connected and quick to respond. Family Easter holiday

Lovely cottage in close proximity to the beautiful pebble beach at Budleigh Salterton with lots of helpful info for our stay, and a very welcome arrival cream tea, from the owner, Katie. We enjoyed some wonderful walks along the coast and along the River Otter and it's also a great location for day trips further along the Jurassic Coast or to Exeter and Torquay.

Beautiful holidays

We had a wonderful one weak stay in Lindale Cottage. There was a warm welcome with a cream tea in the yard, so we immedeatly felt like home. Its just a short walk to the beach and the south west coast path. Landscape is amazing, the cliffs, flowers everywhere and the sea, everything there for a great stay! And we fell in love with Budleigh Salterton and its people, they all have been unbelievable friendly!We hope, we can come back .....

Budleigh/Salterton cottage

Cottage is in a great location very easy to walk to the beach and village. Cottage was well supplied. 2nd bedroom was a bit difficult to get in and out of bed as it was a bunk bed and we are in our late 70's. It was geared for a younger group. But all else was perfect!

Friends Wedding

Absolutely lovely place to stay, with everything you need. The town and beach are on the doorstep and the fish and chip shop is great and right next door. Couldn’t have asked for nicer people who checked we had everything but left us to our own devices. Perfect for the wedding with the church, reception venue and friends house all being under 10 min walk. Would definitely consider again in the future.

My husband and I own Lyndale and live here with our three small boys. We are all into the outdoors and sports which is why we love this area of East Devon so much. We all enjoy dinghy sailing on the Exe, cycling both on and off road along the coast, Woodbury Common and Dartmoor. The boys play cricket at the local club and go to school in the town and I get out into the lanes or along the coast paths for a run when I can!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Lyndale when we were looking to move in spring 2010 and couldn't believe our luck when we moved in a few months later. There is a lovely balance of town and rural living here which suits us and our children. The City of Exeter offers what we need in terms of culture, shopping and work life; you can be on a remote part of Dartmoor within an hour; the numerous tourist attractions keep our family and friends well entertained and we never get bored of being right next to the sea.

What makes this property unique

Budleigh is a great little seaside town with all the shops and eateries you need, the beach, river walk and coastal paths are all stunning and all this is two minutes walk from the front door! The cottage is old and characterful but well equipped and easy to live in making it a lovely mix of old and new. The outside space is a real sun trap at all times of the year (assuming there is some sun!) and you could easily spend a week here without using the car if you wanted to. There are plenty of other lovely places to visit nearby though so having the car is obviously useful...
