Two bedroomed, air-conditioned hillside apartment situated in the unpolluted little village of Joppolo on the Tyrrhenian Coast of Calabria, which has been preserved from tourist exploitation. The sea is rich with activity and is a perfect oasis for diving and snorkelling. An ideal spot for a quiet and relaxing holiday, Joppolo View has unforgettable sunsets across the Golfe di Gioia with breathtaking views of Etna and Stromboli. Situated only 10 km from the sandy beaches of Capo Vaticano and Santa Maria and 12 km from the Feudo Montalto golf course, this apartment is finished to a high standard and is currently available at a considerable discount until the landscaping (including a swimming pool) has been completed.

Great location. Very quiet and peaceful, but just a short walk to two local bars/trattatoria

This was our second stay at the apartment at Joppolo View. It has everything we need, peaceful and calm, but walking distance to more lively bar and trattatoria. Local shop two minutes walk away.

Wonderful location

The location is wonderful. Sitting outside the apartment looking out over the bay is just perfect. Very quiet when we were there in early March but still found a bar with very friendly locals., cheap beer and food to die for. Easy to get to from airport. Good value. We will be back soon.

2 Monate Entspannung mit Home office in super Umgebung

Der Aufenthalt war superschön. Joppolo liegt am Meer, ist aber nicht so touristisch wie andere Orte. Im Ort gibt es aber alles was man braucht (Laden, Restaurant etc.) Die Wohnung ist wie im Inserat beschrieben. Wunderschöne Aussicht aufs Meer und sehr ruhig. Es gibt auch ein schnelles WLAN. Die Kommunikation mit Lucy war sehr gut und unkompliziert. Wir können die Wohnung sehr empfehlen. Peter und Gabriele

Toller Ausblick mit kleinen Mankos

Positiv Der Ausblick aufs Meer ist traumhaft und man hat seine Ruhe Guter Punkt um in andere Städte oder Strände zu fahren Negativ Die Fahrt runter zum Appartement am besten nicht mit einem tiefergelegten Auto anfahren Wohnung hätte gründlicher geputzt werden können Klima in drei Zimmern und Waschmaschine können nicht zusammen laufen da Strom sonst ausfällt und man zum Zähler laufen muss Wasser wird abends nach 21:00 abgestellt und man hat nur noch Restwasser also zeitig duschen Der 800 m entfernte Strand ist mit Felsen also nicht zum Baden geeignet Auto sollte man haben Strände sind ca 25-30 min entfernt Empfehlen kann ich san Ferdinando Parghelia oder Pizzo

Il luogo è bello ...unica nota negativa è la rampa di accesso alla casa troppo ripida (servirebbe un auto a 4 ruote motrici)...poca cura all'interno dell'abitazione...lampadine fulminate ..mensola specchio del bagno rotta ...mobili cucina da sistemare..rimanenze di prodotti alimentari mal conservati...(sale nei cartoni umidi.).la TV...datata andrebbe sostituita e magari sarebbe utile una antenna esterna per poter vedere qualcosa di più...il mare è raggiungibile ma in auto... queste informazioni andrebbero date in maniera più chiara al momento della prenotazione...

LA CASA DEGLI "INGLESI" DI JOPPOLO

la proprietà dei signori inglesi a Joppolo ha tutto e anche di piu' ( se si pensa anche solo al panorama che offre) di quello che si puo' pensare. la posizione è strategica con Nicotera sotto e le sue lunghissime spiaggie , la bellissima spiaggia di Coccolino a pochi km, per poi spostarsi verso capo vaticano in circa 15/20 min e piu' in giu' fino a tropea in circa 30/35 minuti. la casa di joppolo è TRANQUILLITA', SILENZIO .sulla strada sopra c'è un comodissimo supermercato , un medico di condotta e a 100 il bar, pasticceria .pizzeria ON THE ROAD . Dei ristoranti potrei parlare 2 settimane consecutive ma mi soffermo sul "CANTUCCIO" ristorante pizzeria dove la pizza viene lavorata e fatta lievitare 72 ore e vi lascio immaginare la croccantezza e la fragranza, ma in particolare del ristorante pizzeria L'ARAGOSTA dove la sig, Floreana vi mette subito a vs agio. qui è tutto veramente buonissimo a partire dal pane fatto al forno dal cuoco che vi viene servito anche caldo appena uscito dal forno a legna.... UNA LIBIDINE... vi consiglio tutto dalla pasta al pesce agli antipasti alla pizza ma se volete fare il botto cìè la formula 15 euro mezzo metro di frittura e 30 euro un metro. qui si parla di frittura mista di pesce con aggiunta di seppioline e calamaretti, pesce pettine ( SURICIO) strepitoso e non di quelle cosette fritte che spesso vengono proposte in giro. mconsilio il mezzo metro x almeno 2 persone e il metro x 3/4 persone. Il conto ONESTISSIMO. L'appartamento è dotato di ogni confort, dal condizionatore alla lavatrice a quello che puo' servire in vacanza. io e la mia famiglia lo straconsigliamo ad occhi chiusi . Piano a scendere la discesa verso l'appartamento per chi ha delle auto basse, basta solo fare un poco di attenzione ma ninte di chè.... Buona vacanza. LORENZO

Ruhig - ursprünglich - schön! Der richtige Platz für einen zurückgezogenen Genuß-Urlaub

Wir haben uns in der ruhigen Ferienwohnung mit tollem unverbautem Blick auf das Meer sehr wohl gefühlt und so manchen Sonnenuntergang von dort genossen. Die Wohnung liegt ruhig in einem wenig touristisch erschlossenen Dorf und ist Teil einer kleinen Appartementanlage mit 3 Häusern und ca. 12 Wohnungen. Sie ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgerüstet und zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sehr sauber. (Ein 2. Tisch und ein Sonnenschirm mit Ständer wären noch ganz nett gewesen...) Durch dauerhaft dort wohnende Engländer haben wir einige gute Tipps und Unterstützung bekommen. Der örtliche Strand ist zum größten Teil steinig, dafür aber auch ursprünglich und vor allem von Einheimischen frequentiert. Nur am südlichen Ende findet sich unterhalb von einem alten Turm ein schönes Stück Sandstrand. Aber wenn man viel unterwegs ist, dann findet man da und dort auch andere interessante Gelegenheiten zum baden. Sehr empfehlenswert: Die Buchten rund um Capo Vaticano.

Excellent for the price and great, quiet location

Lucy and David were always very prompt with replies and helpful with information. Their friends and neighbours at Joppolo were also very friendly and helpful - in fact we wouldn't have found the place without them😊. I'm going to mention a few disappointments only to manage people's expectations and not because I think they should discourage anybody because this apartment is truly very good value in a location that is quiet and a perfect base for enjoying the superb beaches of Tropea and Capo Vaticano. The apartment itself is everything it looks to be in the photos - clean, modern, well equipped, and nicely presented. I was a bit disappointed when we first arrived though because, although I knew the block has not been landscaped, I didn't expect it to be as completely overgrown with weeds and neglected as it first presented. I also found the view a bit disappointing - apart from the haze, there is also a great big power pole and thick electricity wire cutting across the view. But in fact I very quickly got over these - and a neighbour got stuck into the weeds when they arrived midway through our stay. The terrace got the afternoon sun and was not really useable until early evening but again it turned out not to be a problem as we were often out until then anyway. And we had many lovely evenings eating and drinking out on the terrace after days spent at whichever fabulous beach was our choice for the day. We could have done a day trip to see at least a little bit of Sicily so that's also an option, but we chose to go down there for three nights during our Joppolo stay and saw a little bit more of it. Overall I strongly recommend Jopolo view to anyone looking for better accommodation than you normally get at a budget price, within easy reach of fantastic beaches (you probably need a car but there is a train station nearby with trains to take you up or down the coast, and there's a little shop and bars and restaurants within walking distance). Thanks David and Lucy for a wonderful week and a bit.

Very silent place and peaceful people

In apartment at Joppolo we stayed two weeks from 27'th August and we spent there very exciting time. We visited towns like Tropea, Pizzo, Nicotera and also we took a ship trip to Eolie, Volcano, Lipari and Stromboli islands. We wanted to visit Sicilly island and volcano Etna but we got only to port Villa San Giovanni and there was some troubles with our car. Then we had to found car repair and tried to solve this problem. This way I would like to thank neighbors Steve and Alex for help with communication to Italian servicemen and women from Germany (I forgot her name) who drove me to repair shop in Ricadi. It finished at the end happy and we luckily arrived home to Czech Republic, it was 2000km. We are family with four children and I think that apartment is fully-equipped for this kind of family, so we spent very lovely time and maybe we come back to visit Etna yet.

Beautiful tranquil setting with well equipped apartment

This is a beautiful tranquil part of Italy with stunning views of the coastline and sea from the apartment. The apartment itself is extremely well equipped and clean with plenty of towels, linen and cooking utensils for an extremely comfortable stay. There are a few good local restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and if you have a car this widens the options to visit elsewhere. Tropea is within half an hours car journey (or a quick train journey from the bottom of the hillside) where there is a bustling town, the marina and a great lido called lido el nonno (I think). This is perfect for the children as it boasts shallow water and a safe beach. The apartment is due a swimming pool on site in the near future and this will make the apartment even better. An idyllic holiday location for anyone wanting to escape the busy day to day life for a real break.

Uncommercialised scenic apartment

Really friendly local people & reasonable prices at all eateries compared to other parts of Italy. Accomodation very well stocked & clean & tidy. Air con was a blessing as extremely hot during our stay! A week was definitely not long enough to explore everywhere. Would recommend a visit to local bar top of the hill in village centre next to church, only frequented by locals. Excellent food, we hardly cooked in at all. Never tired of the view across to Sicily & watching the little coastal train wind it's way around the foothills. Very peaceful surroundings. Icing on the cake would be the pool which is being planned. Totally relaxing, enjoyable stay. Teresa & Chris :-)

Peaceful casa with picturesque view

Breathtaking views

We stayed in the apartment for two weeks in early September and had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard with everything we could need to make us feel at home. Joppolo is a lovely little town and a great location for exploring Calabria. The views from our terrace across to Sicily were stunning. Highlights included sampling the huge range of lovely restaurants in Tropea, visiting the local beaches and national park and a day trip by ferry over to Sicily to take in Mount Etna. Many thanks David and Lucy for the warm welcome and excellent local information.
