Detached Character Cottage, Family Friendly With Play Facilities Outside.

Spring cottage has been tastefully renovated to offer great comfort and a warm cosy feel.With a very large open plan kitchen leading to a glass roofed dining area the light is fantastic allowing sunset dining. The garden is a good size with 2 patio areas offering sun or shade(weather permitting) plus a large gas BBQ and a further grassed area with 2 apple trees.
There is a play frame for the kids too.
Kilkhampton has 2 great pubs and a funky pizza bar plus a well respected chippy. There is a park with a small skate park within the village and within a couple of miles you can find "the Bush"(Morwenstow) and "the Smithy"(Welcombe) which are fantastic pubs for dining.
Bude, with Leisure splash pool,bowling alley, extensive soft play for kids and floodlit tennis courts is 4 miles distant.

Fabulous Family Christmas

Our Christmas stay at Spring Cottage was great. Plenty of room for all 7 adults with a large kitchen / dining area which meant we could all pitch in with cooking. Cozy cottage with log burner meant my 80 year old mum stayed warm.Only negative was bunk beds in the 4th bedroom were only really kid sized

Very comfortable, well equipped cottage in a very convenient location for touring the area. There are good local amenities. The cottage was a great base for our family holiday celebrating a significant birthday.

Explore a rockpool

Cracking location close to some fantastic walks. Close to some handy shops, takeaways and pubs. Nice beaches nearby but you need to monitor the tide as a lot of the beaches are pebbled until the tide goes out. However this creates amazing rock pools so great for the kids to explore.

Sehr tolles Cottage, liebevoll eingerichtet, super ausgestattet und sauber. Insbesondere für Kinder viele Spielsachen vorhanden. Gemütliche Sitzecke im Garten. Netter Vermieter, der für jede Frage ein offenes Ohr hat und tolle Tipps für die Umgebung und Restaurants. Vieles getestet und für super befunden. Wir würden sofort wieder kommen, wenn wir nicht nach dem Motto leben würden: die Welt ist zu groß, um an einen Ort zweimal zu fahren. Danke für Alles...es war grandios!

Lovely cottage in perfect quiet location - great with kids!

The cottage was clean, well Maintained with a lovely garden and BBQ area. Plenty big enough for 2 families with kids to share. Very near some wonderful beaches as well as great walks and family day out theme parks. We had a great stay and would certainly recommend!

Gorgeous cottage - recommended!

Quiet and pretty location in a village which has much to recommend it. Kilkhampton has two pubs - the New Inn is great for food and for a proper local pub experience. There is a decent fish & chip shop and a pizza bar. Plus a few steps down the lane to the Spar shop and Post office. It's a proper functioning village with the essentials you need for a stress free stay. But the element of our holiday which made it unforgettable was Spring Cottage itself. A beautiful old cottage which has been sympathetically extended to provide a very special environment. Simon and Silkie have made a super job of the interior. The whole place oozes class and comfort with real attention to detail. Quality carpets, gorgeous soft furnishings, understated accessories and a real understanding of tradition with a 21st century take! Plus squeaky clean bathrooms, crisp white linens and things like handwash, washing up liquid and laundry detergent included. Lovely garden with a decent BBQ and a wood burner in the front room. Our teenagers were mighty impressed with the super-fast wifi connection (better than London apparently.....). Top tips: 'Life's a Beach' in Bude for a special meal; the walk from Crooklets to Sandymouth and back along the cliff tops; Pengenna pasty shop in Bude for the ULTIMATE Cornish pasties...

A little about ourselves..Myself (Silkie) and my partner (Simon) live in Bristol with our two small and very busy boys! Together we run an event space in Bristol also Si is a musician and property renovator.
We try to stay at the cottage as a family as often as possible and find more and more wonderful things to do and explore in the area every time we visit. We think it is a very special place and hope you do too.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to Cornwall for many years and really fell in love with Bude and the surrounding area. Every time we visit we discover more and more wonderful places. Si is a keen surfer as are our boys and the north Cornish coast offers some amazing surf spots and the beaches and countryside are truly beautiful.
Spring cottage was bought in 2010, a 200 year old building in need of complete renovation. A year half later after much hard work and inspiration Spring cottage was reinvented!! Si really has done a wonderful job with the renovation and I have had a fab time choosing cushions!!
