Due to wrong information given by the host, when we tried to get the apartment keys from the security lock box outside, we could not and therefore were unable to enter the property. We could not contact the host to rectify the situation as the details were web based and we were not on Wifi. We had tomake alternative arrangements for the night and then managed to get on to WiFi to contact the host who gave us the correct security code.The two sunbeds on the roof terrace were split and unusable but this was rectified by the host.As the bus station is close by, noise from early morning and late night buses was noticeable.Finally, a basic welcome pack in the apartment would be very welcome, especially for those arriving late evening.
Property was excellent and El Cottilio is a nice place
The only downside for me was the restaurants every one sells much the same menu not a lot of variety
But the apartment was 10 out of 10
The apartment was clean and tidy had all you needed for self catering. Wifi good large TV Netflix & prime video don’t forget your login details. To be honest we spent most of our time on the roof terrace which has sun and shade all day. Thank you Margarita we enjoyed our stay.
If you don’t have a car this is the place for you, bus station close by 2 supermarkets just 5 minutes walk away restaurants 5 to 10 minutes walk. You can see the sea from the roof terrace which is just at the end of the road. If you do have a car there is plenty of parking just outside the door. This is the second time we have stayed at this property and if we return would try to book Margaritas apartment again.

relax and unwind
If you enjoy peace and quiet, delicious food, reading and relaxation then El Cotillo is the place for you. This small village does not have the obvious charm and prettiness of many other European destinations such as the Greek islands and could easily be overlooked. However, stay a little while and absorb the sunshine on the lagoon beaches that stretch for miles and you will most likely be hooked. As people who like to see different places my husband and I first visited El Cotillo in September 2012. We liked it so much that since then we have visited 4 times in the past year.
This is the 3rd apartment that we have rented through Owners direct. The apartment is new, modern, clean, tastefully decorated and the double bed is very comfortable. The upstairs terrace is a great feature and a lovely place watch the sun go down over a glass of wine.
The booking process was relatively easy with the owner getting back to me very promptly with bank details to pay the deposit. Please beware that as the owner lives in Spain you will incur bank charges to make an international transaction online. If you pay the deposit and then later make the final payment, you will incur these charges twice. The cost to make the payment was ?20, but this will depend upon your bank and how quickly you want to transfer the money.
Given the newness of the property there are a number of things that could be improved to make your stay more comfortable. Firstly, we had been given no directions as to how to find the property. I had a good idea from the photographs of where I thought it was, but arriving late after a delayed flight made things a little difficult. Not all local people speak English and even the owner of the bar in the next street was unsure of the address! We would have welcomed some basic essential items such as a bottle of water and milk to at least be able to make a cup of tea after such a long day of travelling. Similarly there was no salt, pepper, tea bags, cooking oil or basic items provided. Also missing from the property was a kettle, so we spent the whole week boiling water in a pan. There was a limited number of cooking knives and only one of them was sharp enough to use for cooking. I did e mail the owner after our trip and she was grateful for the feedback and said she would rectify this. We had a broken shower too which the owner's brother in law who lives downstairs was able to fix for us.
All in all, I would recommend this apartment.

We are working to improve the apartment. Also, we are going to install a washing machine and internet connection.
We have had problems with the person who clean the apartment. We had mineral water, oil, salt, pepper, sugar.. in the apartment, but every thing disappeared...

We have stayed here three times now so l think that says a lot. The apartment is as described clean and tidy,the roof terrace is great where we spent most of our time. Close to all amenities like shops restaurants bars and bus station. Margaritas the host very easy to contact also very accommodating.
Ich bin bei Gesamteindruck zwischen 4 und 5 Sternen. Es war sauber, Betten waren bezogen, Handtücher gab es 1x die Woche und das Appartment war groß genug und lag für unsere Zwecke an der richtigen Stelle des Ortes.Aber es waren einige Dinge kaputt, Plastikmobilar war nicht so angenehm. Der Busbahnhof ist sehr nah dran, was zu Lärm führen kann.Der gute und freundliche Kontakt hat mich dann zu der 5 Sterne Bewertung gebracht. Vielen Dank für die Zeit dort Margarita.
Super schöner sauberer Ort um Urlaub in El Cotillo zu machen. Wir haben es sehr geliebt. Die Terrasse lädt ein um dort zu verweilen und auf die wunderbaren Berge zu schauen. Kommen wieder
Schöne Ferienwohnung, ganz in der Nähe vom Meer. Etwas schade war, dass wir für 14 Tage lediglich ein Dusch- und Handtuch pro Person hatten. Auch nur ein Geschirrtuch. Leider kein direkter Blick zum Meer.

Super Kontakt mit der Vermieterin, die sehr engagiert ist. Wohnung ist sehr schön und sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die eigene große Terrasse ist super. Super Aufenthalt. Ein Mietwagen ist aber zu empfehlen. Auch der Strand von El Cotillo ist einige Minuten zu Fuß entfernt vom Ort.
Lovely clean apartment, well placed for beaches and cafes/restaurants. Quiet position, near to bus station.

Very nice appartment . We have been staying for the 2nd time. We were for a week with 4 people. Everything you need is available for a comfortable stay. The roof terrasse is great! The location in El Cotillo, close to the surf beaches and restaurants is very convenient. We will come back!

Comfortable, clean, airy,great terrace, good location
Great duplex apartment. Twin room, shower/toilet, kitchen/dining/livingroom downstairs. Upstairs: double bedroom, toilet, washing mashine and terrace.
We've been to El Cotillo many times, but first time at this apartment. We'd happily come back!!
