Ground floor flat in a grade 2 listed Fisherman's cottage circa 1725

The flat is entered through the shared front door which leads into a small hall and the door to your right goes into the cosy lounge/dining area (12 feet.6 by 20 feet ), the lounge has a double sofa/ bed, easy chairs, 40' colour TV/free view, electric fire.The bedroom which leads off from the lounge has a double bed, wardrobe, etc, (all bedding is supplied). The kitchen and bathroom also lead off the lounge. The kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave and fridge, electric kettle etc. The bathroom has a WC, washbasin, bath and fitted shower that works off the bath taps (towels are provided) .The flat has central heating, all electric and gas is included. Free WiFi connection available. Also we supply Coffee, tea and milk for your arrival. We regret we cannot insure your personal belongings. Please buy your Parking Permits on line from Torbay Council @ £35.00 per week (for 30 car Parks in the area., Freshwater or Quarry Car park). This cottage has been many things in its time, A home to a sea Captain, several Belgians during the last war who migrated to get away and a cafe before it became a home.

We are not far from Plymouth and Exeter which are both of historical interest, they can both be reached by car, bus or train.

Should you wish to book for 2018 we will only charge 2017 prices , which may be differ, depending on the time of the year.

The cottage was very nice, very complete for what we were looking for. Very calm and not far from the shops, restaurants and parking. Very well based for excursions and walks. The cottage is well equiped with everything you need and more!

We had a fantastic holiday in Brixham. The flat was lovely and full of character, the hosts were wonderful and were always around to help with anything and answer any questions. Lovely week in Brixham

This comfy, well equipped, clean flat is in exactly in the right place for not only sight seeing but all the local sights , local shops and restaurants. We stayed last year and have just returned from yet another lovely week. On our arrival, flowers, milk and wine were a very nice welcome. We will return !

Charming and cosy harbour front cottage

Just got back from a weeks stay at this charming cottage just a stones throw from the harbour at brixham .was greeted by the owner on arrival and they were a lovely couple and very helpful during our stay.the cottage was absolutely charming and cosy and so fully equipped for all your needs it was very clean and comfortable and we was greeted by flowers and a bottle of wine and tea and coffee on arrival. I would strongly recommend anybody that plans a holiday in brixham this is the perfect accommodation to stay in and perfectly located with lovely views of the harbour and David and jaqui are a lovely couple with good knowledge of the area .Will most definatly be booking again for next year .

Perfect. We loved it!

Everything about our stay was great. Jacqui and David were so helpful with all their communications and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The milk, tea, coffee and wine were such a nice gesture too. The location was perfect, directly opposite the harbour with a side view of the water and boats, with shops, cafes, walks and views, all moments away. We stayed with our 8 year old daughter and felt there was plenty of room for us all. We would love to come again!

Cosy home away from home

As soon as we walked into the Wheelhouse it felt familiar, even though we'd never stayed there before. Such a cosy, sweet little flat that feels like a cottage. With the location being right at the end of the shops in the harbour, it is perfect. It's only a five minute walk to the bus stop, perfect if like us you don't drive, or indeed would rather park your car and utilise the buses (which are so regular you can pretty much always walk straight onto one). I've been to Brixham many, many times since I was a child and adore it there. Staying right in the harbour and feeling at home just make it even better. The place was spotless, and plenty of room for a week or two. Well stocked kitchen, and even plenty of hand wash, toilet rolls and even a bottle of wine upon arrival. I would say that if you have mobility issues then it may not be the best place to stay. The steps outside to get up the the property are a little steep, even with the handrail. And getting in and out of the bath for a shower feels a little perilous with nothing to hold onto! We are certainly planning on staying again, can't wait to go back!

The property itself was great spotless and the owners were loveley BUT having really bad walking difficulties I found the description of the "few steps which aren't very steep", a bit misleading to say the least 39 steps is 30 too many for anyone with walking difficulties we had to leave my wheelchair in the car in the carpark which was a ten minute walk away

Old fisherman's cottage/house,quiet area but literally minutes from all the towns many charms,,including the best fish-and chips two minutes away. Clean and comfortable with your hosts Jaqui and David close to in case of any problems. Would recommend.

Cosy ground floor flat in listed fisherman's cottage

We have just spent a lovely week in the ground floor flat in the fisherman's cottage. The flat was very clean and tidy and had everything you could possibly need for a week away. It is perfectly situated by the harbour, so easy to explore the town and has some great walks close by. You are also spoilt for choice with lots of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance.

We have holidayed in Jacqui and davids apartment for many years,and they are a lovely friendly and helpful couple. The apartment caters for everything.We have 3 weeks holiday every year, and the apartment is always clean,and has everything we need,home from home we always call it. Its called The Wheelhouse,its situated over looking Brixhams beautiful bay,and is in walking distance of shops pubs and all amenities and of course the lovely beach.we often catch the ferry to Torquay which is lovely.We travel to Brixham by car and can always get parked at the top of the hill,but once you park you wont need it..the apartment is well furnished,and looked after.weve already booked for next year and cant wait.thank you Jacqui and david for a brilliant holiday.shirley and mick mullins.

David was an Officer in the Merchant Service and I was a receptionist at a busy Peugeot garage in Torquay. (The last of the jobs I had in my career)

Its a grade 2 listed building circa 1725 and has character and is close to all the local amenities and is an interesting busy area of Town. Which is opposite Mitch Tonk's Seafood Restaurant Rockfish.
