Everything you need for a family break and in an ideal location. Very good value for money as although there are more salubrious places, you pay for that, in our opinion, unnecessary pleasure.

We do aim to provide good value yet we offer very comfortable, good quality accommodation with hotel quality linen and towels and the views are amazing. The implication of your review is that the house is unsalubrious, our photos show a really pleasant environment with good facilities so I think your choice of words is inaccurate.
Great house and the location to Mevagissey was brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay everything was on your doorstep great shops and restaurants. The house was just perfect everything you could possibly need had such a relaxing break just wish could have stayed longer

The house has amazing views from most rooms and balcony overlooking the harbour and out to sea. Our second time staying here and were really pleased with the new downstairs shower room. It is extremely comfortable with everything you could want. Will definitely be staying again!

This is a great place for a family holiday stay. It felt surprisingly spacious, with lots of areas to spread out in to.
The views were stunning. We were lucky enough to see dolphins one morning in tbe bay from the bedroom window.
The kitchen was well equipped.
A last minute holiday by the sea. The property was in the most perfect location. The photos don’t do it justice! With the coastal path just a couple of minutes away it was easy to walk down to the harbour or to the nearest beach - Polstreath - in a matter of minutes. We still need steps and toilet inserts for our youngest so took them but found out we didn’t need them. The house is well equipped and the views are amazing!
Our experience was top notch, from the beautiful property with its wonderful views of the sea on every floor, the balcony and the enclosed garden, to the location, just one minute from the Coastal Path and five minutes down into the working port of Mevagissey. The only thing we would suggest is that the photos of the property showed it off to its best advantage, with the amazing indoor windows that extend the views. That way more people could enjoy this amazing place!

Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you had a good stay at a time of year when the weather can be less inviting. I have to agree with your statement that our house is not so good for those with mobility issues, we are on a hilly site with steps down to the front door and down to the garden, although you can access outside space from the dining/kitchen area directly to the decking. The house is on 3 levels with smaller flights of stairs to access these, so being able to negotiate stairs is essential and I hope our details do reflect this accurately.

Wonderful property walking distance from Mevagissey harbour and all the lovely restaurants and pubs.
We loved it so much we will be booking again for next year. Such great views and only a 5 minute stroll to the harbour and restaurants and pubs. Great base to explore the area with so many beauty spots within a short drive. We found two wonderful beaches a short distance away where our dog could play off the lead in the middle of summer. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely stay even though weather wasn’t good
Beautiful views and comfortable and peaceful cottage
Winnie's View is a comfortable, attractive, well-equipped flat with beautiful views over Mevagissey and the water. We enjoyed the variety of spaces on different levels in which to relax. The flat provides everything you need in terms of appliances, kitchen items, comfortable beds, seating, parking, instructions, etc. The coastal path is seconds away and provides a convenient way to walk into town. Good communication with owners. We would happily return and very highly recommend Winnie's View.

Thank you for your kind review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. I think that two of the strengths of the house is that we have parking in front of the house and an enclosed sunny garden to the rear.
Winnie's View is a lovely cottage with stunning sea views. It is arranged over different levels and everything you could need is provided. We had a brilliant holiday, despite the weather not being too good, and enjoyed the walks into Mevagissey, which is so sheltered that the weather was noticeably warmer, once we got to the harbour. The walk back is steep, but there are plenty of benches and viewpoints along the way. Our little dog enjoyed the nearby field and walks too.
First visit to Cornwall, mainly to support our Daughter running the Eden Project Half Marathon
Property was as described, everything that you could possibly need to make it a home from was there
Easy walk down to town. We enjoyed the SW coastal path, until driven back by wind and rain, but must be lovely in the summer.
All in all a great house with excellent views and we would highly recommend it

A lovely review, thank you Peter. I am really pleased you had a good holiday. A great achievement for your daughter too!
We rally enjoyed our stay at this property. Communication with the owners was always very clear and the property has everything you could need for an easy and relaxing stay. The view from the house is much better than any photograph can show.
We even saw a sturgeon moon rising from the horizon in the east and wonderful sunsets over Mevagissey. The whole place was very clean upon arrival and we used all of the equipment with no problem. Wifi signal was very good and the area was very quiet during night and day.
I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit Mevagissey again.

Had a wonderful stay at Winnie’s view. Great location for accessing the harbour area and wonderful views.
Good comfy facilities in the house, and the extra fridge in the garage was needed ! nice wee garden for dogs
As noted on the listing the house and the location is not suitable for everyone due to the steepness but we loved the climb up and down to the harbour. Parking is limited but fine for one car.
We will definitely use this place again, thanks

Winnies View
The property was not the most attractive from the outside, however that didn't really bother us but the inside was most comfortable and to our liking.
One observation that we both felt was that the house would have benefited from some heating during an unseasonal cold couple of days later on in the week.
The view was wonderful and the decking was a particularly attractive feature. All told, we enjoyed ourselves even with complications added by the Covid 19 restrictions!

Thanks for your review. I agree that it is the inside of the house, and in particular, the views that are the treasure of this house. I sm concerned that yiu were cold in the evenings. We do have an excellent central heating system and an open fire. In cooler evenings the heating can be boosted via the thermostat in the dining area. How I wish you had contacted us! Always here to help. Regards Elsa
About the host
Hosted by Elsa Mckenzie
This house belonged to Winnie, my mother in law, she had wonderful holidays here, visiting relatives, swimming from local beaches and she always welcomed family and friends. We have been holidaying in Mevagissey for a long time. Alastair is a civil engineer who visited family in the area as a child, Elsa teaches part time. Our 4 grown up children continue to visit the house with their children and partners. Since the early days we have continued to update and improve Winnie's View into a lovely comfortable home from home for our visitors. Our recent projects include the addition of a balcony and installation of a shower on the ground floor as part of a refurbishment of the utility room.
Why they chose this property
Our children at all ages have always been very fond of Mevagissey and have many happy memories of their holidays there. Now they are nearly all grown up and some have children of their own and they still love to visit with us or with their friends. The south Cornish coast is just stunning, we are now endeavouring to walk the coast path (in chunks). The beaches are beautiful surrounded by amazing landscapes. Winnie's View can be used as a base for exploration, visits to many attractions, or as a comfortable place to return to after a long day at the beach. The house is comfortable, well equipped and practical with space for people, their kit and parking for 2 cars. It's a short walk down to the village for pubs, shops and a walk round the harbour. Fishing is still taking place in Mevagissey as you will see by the number of fishing boats in the harbour. Local fish is very fresh and can be bought from the kiosk on the inner harbour. The views from the house never cease to amaze, winter or summer.
What makes this property unique
The amazing view and the changing light on the sea is a tonic for our stress levels!
