Welcome to Trelawney Cottage, a spacious and superbly proportioned holiday home, newly refurbished for mid-2023. Located a short distance from the town of St Austell with it’s excellent travel links, the cottage is ideal for exploring the golden sandy beaches, coves and bays this area is renowned for. Once inside your holiday haven, you are greeted by an inviting, warm and cosy living room with a wood burner. A TV and super-comfy seating await, great for relaxing after a busy day of discoveries. The open plan kitchen/diner has plenty of workspace and is well equipped so you can prepare and enjoy any meal you wish to. The thoughtful layout of the cottage also plays host to a ground floor double bedroom complete with vanity unit, and a shower room. Stairs lead up to the first floor, where a bedroom with a bunk bed and further double bedroom will be found. A large family shower room with excellent large walk-in shower is also on this floor. With uplifting décor throughout and with so much care and attention to detail, this is a perfect base from which to set off and visit the many attractions hereabouts.

St Austell was once one of the leading towns associated with mining, with the landscape dotted with reminders of this industrious place, including the fascinating Wheal Martyn Clay Works and Museum. The town has an eclectic mixture of shops, restaurants and pubs, many owned by the famous brewery of the same name. The world-renowned Eden Project, with its unique world beneath huge biomes, is just a short drive away, whilst Luxulyan Country Valley Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site gives many glimpses into the once huge mining heritage.

Visit Charlestown, where many films and TV series are made, owing to it’s original quay and association with tall ships. There is the excellent Shipwreck Treasure Museum here too, as well as superb restaurants and pubs, making for a fabulous day out. If something more atmospheric is desired, Bodmin Moor with its incredible natural rock sculptures and ancient connections will surely appeal, with views for miles and miles and miles... Visit Fowey, nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with it’s narrow streets and fascinating architecture, or the countless beaches and rugged coastline. The list of days out is endless……the only decision will be where to start first!

The house was lovely and clean with alot of thought into extras i.

The house was lovely and clean with alot of thought into extras i.e milk, coffee, sugar etc. It is modern and beautifully decorated throughout. The welcome book was brilliant well thought out with all the information needed including the manuals for all the appliances. The location is really good, very close to shops including aldi and Asda. Bonus of a parking place just off the main road. I would recommend the house and location. Not far from eden project and other attraction. I have nothing negative to say. The only thing missing would be a visitor book as we all had a love stay at Trelawney cottage and would highly recommend.
