This is a beautiful property and so close to everything Cornwall, we had an amazing time and will not hesitate to come back later in the year. The hosts are fantastic and I cannot recommend this property enough.
Property has a lot of character and is furnished to a high standard, with lots of home comforts and everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Pentewan is a lovely quiet attractive village with a lot of history.
This cottage was a great home base for our week in Cornwall. We had easy access to all the places we needed to go, but it was also nice to be off the main road and near the beach. My kids loved the cottage and we hope to come back again soon!

We had a lovely week at Pickle Cottage. Very well stocked cottage with a nice welcome pack. We haven't been to this part of Cornwall before so this gave us a chance to explore the local walks.
Pub just a few minutes walk was excellent.

Thanks for your review, we are so glad you enjoyed staying in Pentewan!
Everything about our stay was exceptional from the cream tea awaiting our arrival to all the details included in the recent renovations.
The location is perfect for a variety of activities including walking the coast path, a bus ride to local attractions or just a quiet drink at the local pub around the corner.
The only thing I would change is to stay longer :-)

Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Pickle cottage, we look forward to welcoming you back again to Pentewan.
A very clean, very well presented property. While the outside is rustic, the interior has a lot of modern touches. Spacious lounge, kitchen dining and bedrooms. Close to the beach and the local pub. This was a highlight stay for both of us. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Pickle Cottage.
Simply put we had the best Christmas away. The hosts were very generous, the cottage was superb and location amazing not to mention the beach! We saw seals, a pod of dolphins, huge spiny starfish, a coast guard fly by and those are the things we hadn't planned. The panto in Truro was fun and breakfast in Mevagissey delightful. We cannot wait to return next year.
Everything surpassed our expectations -from the spacious, cosy surroundings and exceptional fittings to the cleanliness on arrival and lovely treats left ready for us. The village of Pentewan is small and quaint, but ideally situated for local walks or an exploration of the wider Cornish countryside. Unbeatable!

So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Pickle Cottage and loved the village of Pentewan as much as we do. Thanks for your review.
Fabulous, cosy cottage with so much history set in a very quiet location. Spotlessly clean, exceptionally well presented and equipped with absolutely everything you need for a self-catering holiday. The communication with the owners was excellent. The welcome food and wine gifts were such a lovely gesture, and much appreciated. Absolutely nothing to fault. A great place to stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We would love to welcome you back anytime.
This was our 2nd stay at Pickle Cottage. Just as lovely as last year. Super clean and light and airy house with everything you need. Great location, beach within few mins. walk and The Little Bay Cafe is fantastic. We had a couple of lovely coffees and a lovely lunch there. Love the little bench at the front of the cottage where you can watch the world go by! We'll be back one day!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay again, we hope you like the new kitchen. It would be lovely to have you back again.
From the outset we were impressed. Externally Pickle Cottage looks exactly like the photograph presented. Internally it was more impressive than its photos. Not only were the rooms spacious and comfortable they were decorated in a very sympathetic fashion to complement the olde world character of the building.
Because the weather was so beautiful while we were there we took great advantage of the delightful little raised patio behind Pickle Cottage.

We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday in Pentewan. It was lovely to have you as guests at Pickle Cottage.
I am not one to leave reviews but we have visited many cottages and been disappointed with some upon arrival. Pickle Cottage was beautiful, exceptionally clean (I'm very fussy!), great location and so homely. The kids loved it too and so close to the beach. The location was perfect. We would love to come again but the journey took us 8 hours both ways (just due to traffic) so we'll see but we'd love to come back very soon! Thank you.

Thank you for your review. We’d love to welcome you back to Pentewan in the future.
In a quiet, charming place so bright,
Where time seems to stand still,
Lies Pickle Cottage, pure delight,
Owned by Arther and Katrina, a thrill.
Arther and Katrina Britton, proud,
Call this cozy haven their own,
Where warmth and love are always loud,
In every corner, softly shown..
A great-great-great-grandfather, brave,
Of Arther Britton’s line,
Served on the Schooner HMS Pickle, a wave
Of history, now divine.
From Trafalgar’s battle to this cozy place,
The legacy lives on,
And Pickle Cottage bears the grace
With a name, now brightly shone.
With thanks, we say, from Jürgen, Claudia, and Marie,
For a stay so lovely and grand,
Your hospitality, we agree,
Was truly beyond what we planned.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely poem and review, we are pleased you loved Pickle Cottage too!
Our stay at Pickle Cottage in the beautiful little village of Pentewan was perfect from start to finish. We couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend Christmas. Katrina and Arthur were the most lovely, helpful hosts and made us feel so welcome. The cottage is the perfect combination of being cosy and quaint whilst having a very well equipped kitchen and modern bathroom.
Being located so close to the beach, we were able to enjoy some wonderful walks and sea swims.

Pickle Cottage was a dream come true. Katrina and Arthur have thought of everything. The house is perfect and comfortable and the village a fantastic base for exploring. Good food and friendly people in the local pubs and cafes. Easy access to the SWCP and return bus service from Mevagissey. We even enjoyed perfect weather. We hope to return in the future.

Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased you enjoyed Pickle Cottage and Pentewan, we’d love to host you again.
We had a fabulous mini break at Pickle Cottage, it was happily situated for the beautiful sandy beach, lovely cafe, pub dinner, gardens of Heligan, and other coastal walks and towns of interest within good driving distances. Pickle is very cute with a perfect mix of authentic cottage feel with tastefully modernised kitchen and bathroom where you really appreciate it, and a lovely terrace at roof height for catching some rays over a morning coffee or evening drink. The scones, prosecco, pukka teas, filter coffee and other bits were lovely thoughtful touches and really made our stay! The place was immaculately clean, and I'd seen someone else review that they were fussy and found it very clean, which is one of the reasons we booked as I am just the same!
Katrina and Arthur were lovely and so accommodating, even letting us charge our electric car at their house (we happily paid for what we used), which was such a convenience as visiting remote settings in the day meant we didn't have to go out of our way to access chargers, although if you plan ahead there are some within reach at St. Austell and Mevagissy (think Mevgsy were 7kw though so would need to make a half day of it) and on the pricey end for a slow charger).
Our only suggestions to make it even better would be a new mattress in the double room as it felt quite worn and we might have struggled over more nights (and a Kingsize would make it a home from home for added comfort!) (my Mum slept comfortably in the twin room), and blackout blinds in the bedrooms (ideally within the window recess) as the street lamp is unfortunately right outside the house and on all night which was quite hard to sleep with.
But overall we can't wait to come back in the future, and thanks for a lovely stay x

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Pickle Cottage, and found lots of places to visit. The mattress has quite a thick topper which may have felt a little soft, I usually remove it when the weather warms up. Yes there is a street light outside, the curtains are blackout but they still tend to let some light in around the edges. Thank you for your comments, and hope to host you again.
Lovely cottage, great beach and walks from your doorstep.
