We spent a wonderful week in Cubert. Very lucky with weather, but the house was full of character, had a beautiful hidden away garden and was veery close to beautiful beaches.
travel down was good, I arrived in time to visit crantock beach. could not find a path off the road which is challenging with a dog and cars but we managed. took a cliff hike to porth joke beach, just in time for storm Dave. wet and windy first evening. the property is cosy and warm, located in the middle of a small village. did not have time to explore the village much. found the village store friendly and most places accommodated me with dog. would come back to explore again.
The property is clearly loved by the owners. Everything one needs is provided and of good quality. Elmar is truly a home away from home. We plan to return for a longer stay.
Comfortable accommodation well presented and clean. The welcome manual gives all the information needed to enjoy your stay both at the property and the local area. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Thankyou so much for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and the nearby spectacular walks. You are welcome back at any time.
We enjoyed our stay and felt warmly welcome in the Elmar cottageAlthough the weather included Heavy Rains, we would like to come back again. It’s a perfect place to explore Cornwall.
Beautifully decorated, cosy and comfortable and only a mile to lovely Holywell Bay which is one of the best dog friendly beaches in Cornwall in our opinion. Shop, bakery/deli and fish and chip shop close by. Loads of great coastal walks nearby and so many lovely beaches, pubs and places of interest to visit. Particularly like all the old mine engine houses dotted around and the local history about mining, fishing. Will definitely be returning.
Well equipped clean cottage.
The steps into the bathroom however should be clearly marked as very difficult to see and could be potentially dangerous. Define with different coloured tiling?
Good location close to the coast and situated in a village that has good amenities.

Nice cottage plenty to do around the area, the beach is only 20 mins away by foot Polly Joke beach that is Hollywell Bay is even closer. Plenty of places to eat or cook yourself in the cottage. Cottage well furnished plenty of plates cups etc washing machine a real bonus iv stopped in Holiday cottages in West Pentire a few miles away and they had no washing machine. The garden is nice and i dried my clothes out there. What more can i say iv been coming to Cubert and West Pentire for 15 years i love the place.

Great to have you at Elmar. You are most welcome back at any time
Me with my 2 adult children plus dog. The cottage is perfect for us: Cubert is an adorable village and close to so much all within a walkable distance: a local shop, great chippy, Crantock and West Pentire only a short drive away with Polly Joke beach. Facilities at Elmar are all there, always clean, with a good size kitchen and bathroom. Central heating, fab log fire and cozy lounge for nights in. Lack of Wi-Fi may put younger families off but being able to switch off isn't a bad thing sometimes. We'll be back very soon, again.

Thanks for your thoughts Belinda. Just to confirm that WiFi has now been installed. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
This was our second visit to Elmar and we loved it even more the second time. The kids loved having wifi and we enjoyed all the cottages comforts. Cubert is a fab place to stay and was particularly gorgeously decorated for the jubilee. Would thoroughly recommend.
This is a great place to stay. Lots of great beaches nearby.....you just have to get up early to get a parking space (in school holidays). Cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed.
We had a lovely stay, the property is well equipped, beds are comfy, and especially recommend walking to the pub ‘smugglers den’ lovely walk across the fields and very good food. Great for dog walks, Would definitely return. Thank you
The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. It’s in a lovely village with local pubs and small shops within walking distance. The beaches and walks around the area are great and plentiful.
The garden is lovely although not directly outside the property. Parking is shared with the cottage next door so good communication is required with your neighbours but we didn’t have any problems. I would definitely return and recommend.
Loved the inside of the cottage, beautifully renovated !!!!!... Super location, near to beautiful dog friendly beaches and great to have a dog exercise village field opposite the cottage and an enclosed garden. Our only real problem (not the owner's fault) was when we arrived the boiler was not working so we had no heat or hot water. It took three engineers on three different days to sort the problem. We were able to light the wood burner for heat in the evening but not hot water. Owner very helpful and has given us a partial refund immediately. The steps up (and crucially down) from back door into kitchen are quite steep and when wet slippery. The dog had a crashing fall and so did one of the engineers who came to fix the boiler. Good village shop. Other amenities closed but as Februarly not surprising.
We bought the cottage having spent many happy family holidays in the area.
Recently we have fully renovated the cottage exposing a massive Inglenook fireplace complete with a bread oven and have installed a new Wood burning stove.
Why they chose this property
The cottage is a second home rather than a commercial let so you will find more home comforts such as good books to read, board games and local walking guides to compliment the character accommodation.
What makes this property unique
There are great local pubs and restaurants as well as fantastic coastal walks all year round
