About this property

Wyndham Beach House, Walcott, Norfolk

If you are looking for somewhere with uninterrupted sea views and the beach right on your doorstep, Wyndham Beach House located on Walcott beach, is the place for you. Fall asleep to the sound of the sea, and enjoy watching the tide ebb and flow. This is the perfect place for family holidays, but will suit anyone who loves being beside the sea.

Wyndham Beach House is a modern detached bungalow, sitting at the top of the beach and enjoys spectacular sea views from the many windows that curve around the front of the building. Light and airy throughout and dressed in a fresh, contemporary style, there is an open-plan living area with a well-equipped modern kitchen, a sitting area where you can relax in the squashy sofas and soak up the view, catch your favourite tv series on the wide screen wall mounted television or enjoy the toys and games the owners have thoughtfully provided. The spacious adjoining dining room has a very swish drop down large projector screen, where you can watch DVDs for a more cinematic experience. For summer dining, french doors lead out onto the paved patio with table and chairs. There are two king-size bedrooms, a twin room, and two bathrooms (bathroom towels are provided, but these are not for use on the beach. Please bring your own beach towels). The large enclosed garden is secure and dog friendly.

Walcott has a lovely sandy beach and is an excellent location for a traditional seaside family holiday - so perfect for making sand castles and enjoying a picnic together on warm summer days or taking long, bracing winter walks with your dog. There are beach restrictions for dogs from 1 May to 30 September between the main groynes of the beach, but this does not apply to the beach immediately in front of the house. There are village shops, a popular cafe and pub serving good food. Further facilities are available in both Stalham, four miles away, and the traditional market town of North Walsham, which is about six miles away and has two supermarkets. Walcott is also a great base from which to explore The Broads National Park.

Additional Information:
Five well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Please bring your own pods for the Nespresso coffee machine.
Travel cot and high chair available on request. Please bring your own linen for the travel cot.

Room with a View

This is a lovely house in a great location. Very stormy during the first part of the week (storms Eunice and Frankin), but we were cosy in the beach house. Excellent place to stay for those with dogs or children as the beach is on the doorstep. Good walks in the local area and a couple of pubs, shop and chippy all within walking distance. I'd love to stay again sometime.

Great location and Sea a few yards away, comfortable beds and chairs,we did see the seal twice which was so nice, The hot water boiler has a small capacity, and the front door lock needs a look at as it its stiff to open, The lighthouse pub is superb especially Sunday Lunch, also Fish and chips is great, Great walks along the beach and stunning sunrise in the Autumn morning,Would return again in the future,

Fabulous location, literally on the beautiful beach.

The location of the beach house is wonderful, so relaxing. And everything you need. The beds are very comfortable, and the inclosed garden was very good for dogs. One of the things that could improve this holiday home were to tidy up all the electrics, lots of wires hanging dangerously from all the TVs and the bbq found in the shed was filthy. Feedback: Electrical PAT testing was overdue April 2018

Maintainance needed.

Great location. Very windy during visit . Several areas need attention. Windows affected by sand. Equipment leaflets should be located in one folder. Sofas are well past their sell by date. Garden could do with a general tidy up. Appreciate that with the house being rented out every single week , upkeep is somewhat difficult. Detailed review already sent to holiday company.

March stay

Wonderful location and enjoyed beach views all day long. Dog friendly with easy beach access and enclosed back garden. Great fish and chips short walk away. Will book again. Slight negative : Shower looking tired and could have used more tumblers and teaspoons in the kitchen.

Location Location

What a location, right on the beach with a 180 degree sea view, whats not to love. Great family venue enjoyed our film nights with the huge DVD library, walks on the beach and dog friendly local pubs in walking distance, great Sunday lunch at Poachers Pocket and a warm welcome at The Lighthouse, also fish and chips on the beach.

Lovely Break in Walcott

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Wyndham Beach House. I have marked it down very slightly on comfort and condition purely because there was hardly any water pressure in either of the showers, which became a little tiresome over the week. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was immaculate on arrival, you could tell the place had had a thorough clean. We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and this was one of the cleanest, in fact the oven and grill were by far the cleanest of any we have stayed in. There was a problem with the dishwasher and had to be replaced during our stay. This was dealt with by the owners in a very professional and timely manner. The beach at Walcott is fantastic and extremely clean. We enjoyed our walks along the beach with our dog, who also loved it.

A wonderful property

The house is perfect for a beach holiday and well accommodated for children. Not sure why I have to write more than I want in this review. There shouldn’t be a minimum number of characters required!

Beautiful location and views

We stayed in January at Wyndham beach house and it was lovely. The house is literally on the beach and the views are lovely to wake up to. The house itself is large enough for a couple of families. There’s ample seating and a dining table. Plenty of games and dvd’s to keep you entertained. The showers leave a lot to be desired as they are quite weak however they do have a nice big bath. All in all I would highly recommend this property and would go again with a shadow of a doubt. It’s all laminated floored throughout making it easy to remove sand, there are hoovers and brooms available to use. Thank you for letting us use your property

What a brilliant house!

Right next to the beach, you can hear the waves from the living room. The rooms are all a good size and we felt right at home here! It's a short walk to 2 pubs and a grocery store, and a short drive to bigger shops and beaches with seals! Overall, really enjoyed it here and would recommend!

Beautiful winter break

Spent a very enjoyable fortnight at Wyndham Beach House. The location of the property is absolutely stunning and is equipped with everything you could need. The weather was freezing but the house was warm and cosy. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed their walks on the beach. Our only concern was that there were a number of odd jobs that need addressing, door handle on French doors came off each time you pulled them shut, windows in lounge were taped shut and rubber seal around outer front door was hanging which meant that had to be held up each time in order to shut the door. Minor issues which did not spoil our stay at this beautiful house.

Lovely bungalow right on the beach

We spent three days in this lovely bungalow. The location was great - you could literally step out onto the beach, see the sea from most of the windows and hear it while inside. It is also 20-30 minute drive from some lovely places to walk (national parks and gardens). Few nice restaurants to order take away food. The drop down screen with projector was great fun and we enjoyed home cinema experience watching movies in the evening. We also appreciated safe enclosed sea facing garden where you could enjoy a cup of tea in the sun (or just let our dog run around). The place was clean, had everything we needed and a nice bottle of Prosecco as as a gift on arrival. Check-in was easy, with clear instructions and also, you we could call the manager if we had some questions. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely be happy to go there again.

Mac's little seaside holiday

Mac is our pet (Vizla), by the way. We enjoyed our stay a lot, Mac was ecstatic with the beach and surf. We were comfortable and it was easy to be at ease. Even the weather cooperated. mostly. The house is nice and well equipped, good bathroom facilities, except we would have liked a heating rail for towels in the bathroom. It is also clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. Plenty of well located electric sockets. The location, for dog owners is outstanding. Good parking there too. The view over the beach and sea is lovely. Caveats.....(No huge deal but would improve the experience a bit more and would not prevent us from returning in future).... Facilities such as heaters and remote controllers could be checked. The hall heater does not work. We replaced two sets of batteries in remote controls. We eventually found applicable instructions for the TV's on a separate laminated info sheet which has different instructions to those in the info book. Also, the bedroom tellies appear not to be able to do the same things that the living room one does. Can't quite understand why there is no ariel to pick up Freeview, other properties surrounding have them. Ran out of hot water on Sunday, eventually discovering extraordinarily complicated instructions for the controller in a cupboard containing the heater and cylinder. Some relatives of our who stayed recently told us they had thew same problem but the door to this cupboard was locked and no key could be found. We managed to program hot water back again. Dining table chairs seem quite low compared to the table height. Anyone looking for a nice spot to take pooches on hols will be happy with this one.

Wonderful stay.

Lovely beach house, brilliant position, wonderful views out to sea. Couldn’t get nearer to the beach if we tried. Everything we needed in the house loads of space. The only minus was the road to the house it was awful with potholes but didn’t have any impact on our lovely break.

Holiday at Wyndham Beach House

Bungalow is spacious and comfortable with the most amazing location and views. Cleanliness not great, found llarge clump of dog hair on floor under small table. Kitchen ok but bit tired. Oven not great to use as think it should have been built in so too low down and hard to use. Heating in bathrooms not great. But the size and location of the bungalow saved the day!

November visit

Property is in a brilliant location with wonderful views but let down by several issues. The kitchen storage space is not sufficient even for 4 people let alone 6 and the dishwasher is too small. The addition of a tumble dryer would be beneficial. There is also only ONE wardrobe. A large doormat in the porch would help with wet footwear and an opening window in the porch is needed as condensation pours down the windows. Heater in the hall did not seem to be working. A note in the welcome folder as to the location of user manuals would have been helpful- dishwasher and washing machine instructions are missing. TV instructions were misplaced so owners had to come to reset TVs as we had spent some time trying to get them to work! The owners were very helpful and we DID enjoy our stay but having stayed in many properties over the years these issues we have highlighted should be addressed to improve people's stay particularly in the colder months when predominantly adults will be visiting.

Wyndham Beach House

The property is in an amazing location. We had 3 dogs and walking on the beach was on the doorstep. The owners have been very thoughtful with home comforts provided e.g. internet, lots of TVs, home projection system, NOW TV. The property is very comfortable and well laid out. The kitchen is lacking in storage, however we ate out most of the time. We tended to dine at the Poachers Pocket which serves excellent food with friendly staff. The local chippy is less than a 5 minute walk away and serves fantastic fresh fish and chips. Our only negative was the cleanliness of the property when we arrived.

Great Location

Had a fantastic time in this well located property. Great communication with the owner. Everything there that one would need for a great break. Comfortable beds, amazing views. Some previous people complained that the property was a "goldfish bowl". We didn't feel this at all. There is a coastal path that people walk along right next to the property but generally people did not look in if they were aware you were looking out!! A fantastic stay overall, and will consider this property in the future.
