Grand Harbour - Apartment in historic Valletta building

This unique Valletta duplex, is part of a 400-year old historical building. Situated across the road from the iconic Siege War Memorial & the Lower Barrakka Gardens where you can enjoy spectacular views of Malta's Grand Harbour. A 5-minute walk from the center of Valletta - a city buzzing with shops, restaurants, trendy bars & steeped in history. A bus stop is a few steps away. The space is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, or a family with kids.

This self catering maisonette is on 2 levels and has its own front door:
- it has a fully equipped kitchen, a small dining table and a sofa in the space downstairs.

- the bedroom upstairs has a double bed, plenty of wardrobe storage and a small balcony that overlooks a quiet Valletta street that is lined with traditional Maltese balconies.

The apartment forms part of a 17th Century building that was built with walls that are 1.2m wide.... you should feel safe enough inside! When you step outside, you are a few steps away from the spectacular views of Malta's famous Grand Harbour and The 3 Cities. You will be very centrally located within walking distance of all the Valletta attractions, and 1-minute walk from the bus stop.

Amenities include:
An ironing board, hair drier, washing machine, tumble drier, Air Conditioning, TVs with USB ports and Google chromecast for logging into your YouTube or Netflix account. WiFi is available free of charge.

The apartment is equipped with a smoke detector, a fire extinguisher & a fire blanket, emergency light and a first aid kit - all located in the kitchen area.

This maisonette is on street level and has very few stairs. Please let us know if you would like us to provide you with a cot or if you have any other requests for your little ones.

Although the apartment is in a central location in the city of Valletta, it is situated in a traditional residential street - Old Wells Street (or Triq Bjar in Maltese) which is quiet and safe at night.

The bustle of the city is just a corner away.

This is a great apartment in inner Valletta. Away from the noise and busy hustle of the main core but super close to everything. Quiet and well appointed it has a well stocked kitchen and nice upstairs bedroom. We really enjoyed our stay here. Our hosts worked hard to make sure our stay was pleasant.

We never met the host. The key safe was really high and we could hardly reach it. The flat was clean but smelt musty and damp. It was certainly not the nicest of apartments. The kitchen had no windows and the street wasn’t very pleasant. On a positive note there was plenty of hot water and a decent coffee machine. However the toilet and shower room wasn’t very nice, it was off the kitchen, so not very pleasant.

Malta is an old city and if you're looking to stay in something like an American apartment/hotel, this property is not for you. If you're curious about actual apartments in Valletta, this place is great. Arthur arranged for a driver to pick us up which was a godsend after a very long day of travel.He was extremely helpful when we lost the key to the apartment.The location is close to everything with out being a noisy busy street.My heads up would be if you're a frequent user of the toilet at night, the bedroom is upstairs and the toilet is downstairs.

The apartment is in an awesome location! About 100 steps to the Grand Harbor and 2 blocks away from night life and restaurants. This is a perfect place to stay in Valletta. We loved every second of it!

The apartment was exactly what I needed for my visit to Valletta. Clean and well located for my purposes. My host, Arthur, was very responsive and helpful before and during my stay, including arranging for a trusted driver to pick me up at the airport, get me checked into the apartment, and take me back to the airport at the crack of dawn the morning that I departed. If I come back to Valletta for the same event next year, I will certainly book with Arthur again.

The property was as advertised and all utilities worked very well. Our host was extremely helpful with transportation from the airport and to the ferry terminal. If there was a drawback, given we didn’t have a car, it was a fair walk to public transportation which we used regularly.

Location is great; very well situated for many of the places of interest in Valletta. Arthur was very helpful in arranging an extremely good taxi service for us from and to the airport. Valletta is a beautiful place full of character and history. Apartment well located except back street dirty with rubbish and downstairs was dingy and bathroom smelt of sewage. We also experienced some cockroaches which on first day put us off.

It was what we expected and wanted. Property is updated although a few years ago I think. But it gave us the authentic old Valletta feel we were wanting. Out the door and old Valletta was at our feet. Good shopping, tours, restaurants, you name it. Loved our stay there and would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location

This cozy apartment is located in a perfect location: near the wharf and rapid ferry departing point, a few blocks from the Valletta main attractions and the buses terminal. The apartment is perfect for a couple and included a washer and dryer, which is infrequent. Arthur, your host, is extremely helpful and respond to your queries immediately. Overall, this property is an excellent base from where to explore Malta.
