Ground floor villa totally equipped and air-conditioned. It has two entrances, one of which leads directly to the beach, with no need to cross the street. To say nothing excellent!The premises are easy to reach on foot, without the need for transportation transport. For lovers of excursions, there are vehicles (public or private), to visit the various locations in Sicily. The property has a view to say the least beautiful!The property consists of two double bedrooms, one with sea view. The third bedroom consists of a single bed. Children and high chair. The kitchen is composed of:

Zwischen Vulkan und Meer
Daryush ist ein wirklich sehr herzlicher und supernetter Typ und stets um das Wohl seiner Gäste bedacht; der Kühlschrank ist zur Begrüßung mit jeder Menge Süßkram und Getränken gefüllt, bis hin zur Zahnpastatube liegt alles bereit. Die WLAN-Situation war eher bescheiden, für den Alltagsbedarf war es ok, als Junkie sollte man sich vielleicht besser was anderes suchen oder sich am besten mit eigenen mobilen Daten unabhängig machen.
Den Etna vor dem Haus und den Strand direkt hinterm Haus zu haben ist natürlich nicht ganz alltäglich und eben diese Tatsache entschädigte auch etwas für die eine oder andere Entbehrung, z.B. den Straßenlärm im vorderen Schlafzimmer, die allgemeine Dunkelheit und Enge im Haus, oder die nervige Wasserpumpe auf der kleinen, leider tiefergelegten Terrasse, die - wenn eingeschaltet - ganz schön laut vor sich hin ächzt. Im August kann man es quasi vergessen, einen Parkplatz vor dem Haus, geschweige denn in der Nähe zu bekommen. Wer sein Auto liebt, hat da ein Problem.
Wir haben von hier aus relativ unproblematisch Ausflüge bis hinunter nach Sirakusa und Noto (ca. 1 Std.+) unternommen, nach Catania sind es rund 20 Minuten, Taormina ist fast in Sichtweite und auch als Ausgangspunkt für einen Tag auf dem Etna und ist Fondachello geeignet; abgesehen davon hat dieses Straßen-Städtchen jedoch wahrlich nichts zu bieten. Zur Abkühlung lässt es sich ganz nett plantschen im Meer. Alles darüber hinaus (Wassersport etc.) ist jedoch Fantasie.

Perfectly placed, simple, clean and well stocked.
When we arrived we were made to feel at home with a well stocked fridge, full of the basics plus a bit more. We just had to walk out of the back gate to be on the long pebbled beach, which had a gentle slope to it, great for me, not being a strong swimmer. We were perfectly placed to explore Etna and the surrounding villages. We had a great walk round Francavilla di Sicilia, it is a well signed nature trail round the town taking in the castle, if you want to. We had to go back to Catania to do the 'Etna Tour'. Cheaper to self drive, if you have the nerve for the hairpin bends (possibly in the fog as we experienced). Taormina is well worth visiting but touristy, like Etna, best to park on the outskirts by the station for instance (if you don't mind a good walk), plenty of hairpins if you drive into the town.
There is a mini market just a short way north of the flat, well stocked and the shop keeper is very helpful, and a coffee shop that sells cakes just up the road from that. There is a petrol station even closer again.
We really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful surprise at the end.
