About this property
Point Reyes Getaway in Secluded Nicasio Valley
Located on the wooded flanks of Black Mountain and overlooking the grasslands of Nicasio Valley, the "Tree House'' is a truly private getaway. This two story home is nestled among oaks and bay laurels adjacent to an all-year stream that flows to the valley reservoir. The two bedroom, two bath home, with an exceptionally equipped and distinctly outfitted gourmet kitchen, should be enough to keep you comfortably at home. But if daytime activities are in your plans, the town of Point Reyes Station and the National Seashore is a short distance from Tree House. This historical, three block long town, with its unique shops, restaurants, bakeries and weekend farmers market is five minutes away. A twenty minute drive puts you at the Point Reyes National Seashore Visitor Center, the gateway to one of the most unique places on this earth. All within the park are whale watching in winter, amazing walks on sunny or fog shrouded beaches, hiking on miles of trails, or kayaking on the sheltered waters of Tomales Bay. End the day at one of the town's restaurants or back home at the Tree House, sharing the comfort of the wood burning stove, a BBQ on the deck, or your own home cooked evening dinner.
The main gathering area of Tree House is appointed with custom designed contemporary furnishings. A glass block wall bathes the interiors slate floor and brightly colored rugs with morning sun. The dining space, seating six, looks out towards an intimate view of the wooded landscape. The adjoining open kitchen with contemporary stainless steel appliances, Nespresso coffee maker, an array of cookware, and a tasteful selection of tableware makes this home a gourmet's delight. The downstairs bedroom with a cozy double bed is also bathed in sunlight through a glass block wall. This room has a separate exterior entrance off the covered, heated and furnished deck -- a nice place for morning coffee, even in poor weather.
The master bedroom upstairs features a glass enclosed built in window settee. This eight foot long cushioned space projects out into the wooded tree canopy. This is a cozy spot for a good read or a daytime nap. At night, the second floor master bedroom and bath suite with queen bed is a most private and comfortable space. An additional sleeping area with twin beds is offered in the uniquely designed loft space above the living room.
Throughout the house is a collection of artwork by local artists, largely depicting the landscapes and ranch settings of the Nicasio Valley. If you need to remain connected, there is a media center with a TV, DVD player, and an internet connection through an Apple TV. and WiFi connection is provided. All the furnishings, bedding, accessories and amenities have been selected to make a simple two day weekend or an extended stay as comfortable as can be.

The house was so amazing, comfortable, beautiful, very VERY clean. It is also in a very peaceful place with nature just surrounding it! I’d really recommend this place, we’d love to come back to it someday!!
The Tree House is an absolutely wonderful house on a gorgeous property. We enjoyed waking up to the views, taking walks around the property to the garden and the pond, and our host was extremely friendly and accomodating. 10/10 would recommend. We hope to come back and stay again.
It's such a beautiful space on a lovely property. The house was spacious and comfortable and Roger was great answering our questions and left us information on the area for us to peruse. We'd love to be back sometime and have another retreat there!
Me and my friend had a chance to stay at this beautiful place surrounded by nature! I would definitely recommend it to anyone! And I’mPlanning to come back :) thank you Roger for having us
what a spectacular house, property, and owner... Highly recommended!
Roger was an amazing host and his property is simply stunning. Would love to stay here or one of his other rental houses on the property again! I cant recommend enough,
Amazing, beautifully constructed and outfitted home situated on stunning property. Easy access to Point Reyes Station, Tomales Bay and neighboring communities. Thanks to our welcoming host for providing a great experience
This was a wonderful property in a beautiful and isolated setting. It was plenty of space for a family of 5. It was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishware and cooking ware. We had a great time, and Roger was very attentive! Highly recommend!

Great West Marin hideaway
We thoroughly enjoyed the Tree House. We wish we had more time to enjoy it but we were staying there for our sons wedding weekend so didn’t have much free time. The house is situated in a gorgeous location and is very well decorated and stocked with all the essentials and more.
It was a gift to the soul…a much needed respite from caregiving. The seclusion, beauty, and the warmth of Roger’s lovely tree house offered my long time friends and me the perfect place to reconnect and process our past, present and futures together. So lovely to meet you Roger and Ivy

Terrific property, very quiet and private.
Tremendous property and we had a delightful stay. The owners are terrific, the place is very private and beautifully appointed. Our only critique is that we found both beds to be a bit uncomfortable (everyone in our party of 4 mentioned that the beds didn't particularly agree with our backs). Otherwise, we love the house and highly recommend it!!

Mark,
Your comments about the beds is of concern as we have not had any of our many past guests mention any issues with the quality mattresses and bedding we provide. Everyone, however, has different sleeping requirements and I value and respect your opinion. We are planning, in the very near future, to change the Master suite Queen bed to a King size bed. In that process, we will be sure to critically evaluate the quality of the new purchase for this room, as well as other beds , to insure that all future guests have the best sleep possible at the Tree house.
Off the beaten track, Tree House is a perfect place to unwind. The setting was beautiful. The house is full of original art and the best-equipped kitchen I have ever encountered at my many house stays. The knives actually cut! The owners live a few steps away and are helpful and charming. I want to go back.

About the host
Hosted by Roger Fleck
My name is Roger and have lived on this property for 35 years. I share my life with my newly acquired lab named "Ivy". I am an industrial designer by profession and I collaborated on the design and participated heavily in the construction of our home and guest house. I spend most of my time here on the property. My assistant / caretaker Nanci, who lives on the property is also available available to aid in any way we can to make your stay enjoyable. Having us around can also be good as we can start the generator when the occasional winter storm or the new PG & E rolling blackouts.
What makes this property unique
The Nicasio Valley is a very unique place within Marin County. We are surrounded by Cattle and Dairy ranches and designated un-spoiled open space. Our views are of the hills surrounding the Nicasio Watershed We share a gated private road which provides us and our guests a safe secure and quite getaway.
