Fantastic stay

First time staying at Tapnell Farm and we had an amazing holiday. The cottage was gorgeous, very spacious and well equipped. Only a 5 min walk from the restaurant and the farm, it was perfect for our group. Cannot wait to return next year!

Lovely overnight break

My friends and family all had a lovely time at this little cottage in the countryside. Beautiful walks in the area and a lovely farm shop nearby with delicious items for your stay. Beaches and towns are also close by. One of the highlights for everyone was roasting marshmallows together in the evening before bed. The staff and contact were always a text away with anything that we required. Perfect for a solo or couples getaway or for families.

A dream family holiday

This is the second year we’ve stayed at Tapnell Farm with our young children and we can’t wait to book to come back again soon! It’s located in an ideal part of the island surrounded by lots of sandy beaches, and the farm itself it’s a paradise for kids. The farmhouse is perfectly set up for families with cots, bed guards, stair gates and high chairs as required. The staff at the guest services are really friendly and helpful with top recommendations of family friendly places to visit during your stay. We love Tapnell farm!

A wonderful weekend

The accommodation had everything we needed . Close to the farm and restaurant. We had a lovely weekend. The facilities were great , just the cleaning let it down . Cobwebs in the downstairs bathroom and the floor was dirty ( as in our white socks were black in minutes) It was hoovered just not sure the floor had been mopped/washed

Great home!

House is great and spacious. Perfect for family or big groups. They have all the things you'll need and even have stuff for bbq. Easy access to the farm park and farm shop. It's just a shame we came when the aqua park is still closed and during the days the farm is closed. It's in a good location to explore other places in IoW although it's going to be difficult without your own car. Bus stop is quite the distance but you can book can also book taxi to get you anywhere. There's a Tesco 5min drive away. We really enjoyed our stay and hoping to come back soon!

Short summer break, adults

We were a group of 4 adults on a short break. Ideal base for exploring west of Isle of Wight - Yarmouth, Needles, Freshwater trail, Tennyson’s house, etc. Dombala recommended for lunches & photo exhibition. Pleased with ferry discount available when booking accommodation, good value. Pretty house, easy to find, good views from upstairs bedrooms. Everywhere spotless. Milk in fridge & free eggs available, coffee pods, tea, sugar & biscuits. All appreciated. Kitchen very well equipped. Doors to back garden bit tricky to negotiate & lounge space great for 4 but probably not for larger groups. Recycling (food waste) info could be clearer. Bought bread & butter in shop, very expensive. Limited supplies there. Didn’t use Farm facilities but we will be back with grandchildren & families. Thank you.

Family break for my birthday

I treated my family to a four night stay at the Dairyman's Cottage. We are 5 adults, 2 tweenies (12) and a 10 year old, plus the family dog. There was plenty of room for all to stay in comfort. The weather was nice so we spread outdoors and enjoyed the barbecue and fire pit. The garden is not totally enclosed but luckily our dog doesn't wander far from us. We enjoyed a meal on our first night at The Cow. A bit pricey but good. The kids really enjoyed the Farm Park. I was a little concerned that there wouldn't be much for the tweens but they loved the animals and the go-carts and bouncy pillows in particular. On our last day some of us (not me) tried the Aqua Park. The two adults found it exhausting but enjoyable. The older kids managed fine but the 10 year old needed to be hauled out of the water by his Dad a few times so good job he was there. All in all the holiday was a great success, so much so that I have booked the Dairyman's Cottage for next year. The only thing that spoiled my stay were mosquitoes. I found them inside the cottage and ended up with several bites. Mosquito plugs are provided and guests are forewarned and I had repellent but it was a nuisance. Not all of us were targeted so I suppose it's not a problem for all.

A wonderful 70 th birthday celebration

Our stay was excellent in almost every way except for two things that could be improved. The table was too small for nine people to sit around and we only were given 6 chairs ( and another one on request). We had to use two stools that were in the kitchen, one of which was falling apart. Excellent cooking facilities and table ware etc. It was impossible to find the Tapnell Trail/ walks from the farm. We had the map and eventually after a lot of trial and error we found some signs. It would be a good idea if there were signs on Tapnell Farm site directing you to the Tapnell Trail. Also the outdoor furniture looked a bit ‘battered’. However, it is a fantastic location and we all loved our stay.

Great for families

We booked this for a joint family holiday. The rooms were clean, comfortable and a good size and all came with en-suites which was very convenient for everyone. Communication prior to the visit was great, and the house was even ready for check in early. The kids loved the on-site adventure park and visited every morning before we went sightseeing and again every evening when we returned. The one off entry price for the stay was very reasonable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and all amenities we required were provided and compared to many other places we have visited, were generously provided. We had plenty of toilet paper, bin bags, dishwasher tabs, tea, coffee, sugar and charcoal for the week and didn’t even need to dip into our own supplies. Even free eggs were provided every day. Plenty of crockery and utensils provided too - everything we needed. The farm is in a great location for seeing the local sites - Needles, Osborne, Garlic Farm, Arreton Barns and Carisbrooke with barely any driving required. Only thing was that the farmhouse was for 8 people but dining room only sat 6 people (although 2 extra stools were provided) so was a bit of a squeeze. This was minor really and we all had a lovely holiday and would definitely come again. Thank you!
