About this property

Fantastic, sociable home in the beautiful village of Brighstone, with hot tub.

Located between the rolling Downs and beautiful Brighstone Bay lies The Hawthorns! This is our much loved holiday home which we would like to offer to guests to enjoy and unwind in. This bright, modern split level house offers open plan living for the ultimate sociable holiday!
There are four bedrooms in total, two on the ground floor and two upstairs, three of which have flat screen TVs. On the ground floor, bedroom 1 is a kingsize bedroom and has an en suite bathroom offering his and hers sinks along with an illuminated demisting mirror, and a double ended bath. Bedroom 2 is a twin bedroom, and is served by the wet room just across the hall for bathroom facilities. Indeed, the luxurious wet room has a ceiling mounted shower, modern wall hung vanity basin and demisting illuminated mirror, along with laundry facilities. Upstairs, the bedrooms have large warehouse style windows and are flooded with light, and offer peaceful views over the surrounding trees and beyond to Grammar Woods. Bedroom 3, known as the Jack and Jill bedroom, can sleep two guests in either single beds or a zip link super kingsize bed, just let us know how you would like the room made up. This bedroom benefits from a Jack and Jill bathroom (hence the name!) with vanity sink and bath. Bedroom 4 is the stunning master bedroom with a euro kingsize bed and en suite shower room.
The bright and airy open plan lounge/diner has two sets of French doors opening out onto the south west facing rear garden and boasts a 65 inch smart TV with Netflix and full surround sound for those movie nights, along with comfy leather settees and a wood burner for cosy winter nights in. And there is a Hulsta dining table with seating for eight. The spacious open plan kitchen also has a set of French doors opening out onto the large patio and benefits from an induction hob with touch control extractor hood, Bosch double oven/microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, Bosch tassimo drinks machine, toaster, kettle and and is well stocked with plenty of cutlery and crockery. There is an island with integrated wine cooler and four stools, and pull up power sockets.
Outside is a large patio area with outdoor dining for eight and a separate lounge area. This area is perfect should you decide to eat 'al fresco', and there is a Jamie Oliver charcoal barbecue for those occasions. An Urban Cedar Hot Tub accommodates four people and is the ultimate way to end the day relaxing under the stars! (This is available to hire subject to terms and conditions). Indeed, the Isle of Wight is renowned for its beautiful dark night-time sky - enjoy stargazing with our telescope located in the master bedroom! The rear garden is laid to lawn and surrounded by a lovely variety of established shrubs, and is enclosed with a combination of 6 ft wooden fencing and 4 ft dog mesh fencing. Small to medium sized, well behaved dogs are welcome UPON REQUEST, a maximum of two (sorry, no puppies under 18 months old).
Situated on a single track road, to the front of the property there is off road parking for 2 vehicles on the gravel drive, and the front can be fully enclosed when the gates are closed. The charming village centre of Brighstone is just a 5 minute easy walk away and has a friendly pub which offers a good selection of well priced pub grub and occasional entertainment, there is a hairdressers, newsagents, post office, museum and the most amazing village shop which is well worth a visit! The beach is approximately a 20 minute walk away via footpaths and the local park is a 5 minute walk away where there is a children's playground, ample room to play ball games or exercise the dog, and the village tennis club which allows non members to play. There are a multitude of footpaths to explore throughout the area, ideal for dog walkers, ramblers or those simply looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful, picturesque West Wight.

The property was in a lovely village with a very well stocked shop which we used daily. We had an excellent meal at the village pub where the staff were welcoming and there was live music on the Friday evening. Our hosts were at the property to show us round and explain everything and we had a wonderful holiday.

Summer Family Holiday

We had a great stay on the IOW, and this is the perfect base for it. Beautiful house with everything you need. Kids loved it. The facilities are amazing. It's a quick walk to the local pub and shop, and great location to drive anywhere on the island. I would definitely recommend staying here with a family.

Just had a wonderful week at The Hawthorns, the house was spotless and homely , nice linen and comfy beds , the kitchen had everything we needed especially for self catering. Lots of board games for the children , smart tv with Netflix etc . Sarah the host was very welcoming and gave us lots of tips on where to go etc .The welcome basket was the best we’ve ever had, so thoughtful. The local pub was very welcoming and child friendly. The local store and post office had everything we needed and lots of fresh produce and island treats . The hot tub was an absolute bonus , and also the enclosed back garden was so safe for the dogs . Lots of lovely walks straight from the property. We will definitely be back .Thanks

Excellent property

We have stayed here previously 2 years ago and the property is still in the same pristine condition. Sarah and Ashley are great hosts and information about the property is listed in the handbook which is really helpful. Property is spotlessly clean and everything is in working order. Good facilities in the kitchen and also washing machine available which is really handy. Best Isle of Wight property we have stayed in

Amazing place, fantastic location. Can’t wait to return

We were greeted by the hosts who couldn’t have been more helpful. They were super friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about the local area. House was beautiful, clean and modern and had lots of things to do. We enjoyed playing some of the supplied games in the evenings. Location was perfect, walking distance to a local shop and lovely pub with delicious food and very friendly staff and lots of accessible walks nearby too. Beautiful modern house with all the mod cons

Just a lovely huge, light house to escape in. There is room for everyone and more and it’s so comfortable and peaceful. The hot tub is superb. If you have a dog, it’s ideal. It’s all enclosed and safe and the walks around about are out of this world. The house is in a chocolate box location. Fully recommend this property.

Hawthorns is perfectly located for exploring the IOW. On the quieter side of the island but still well positioned. Excellent village with several shops and pub. village shop is a must. Great local beaches, some walkable to. Dog friendly also, both property and local beaches year round. Property well set up, furnished beautifully, and contained everything needed for a great break. Sarah very accommodating and informative both before and on arrival. Hot tub a great plus, along with the extensive patio furniture and garden loungers. Fantastic stay all round.

Super property in great location

An outstanding property in a lovely area. The house is very modern and has every amenity you need for a great holiday. We liked the location of the property in the small village of Brighstone. This is away from the busy areas of the IoW. The village is very pretty with a pub serving good food, a tea shop and a comprehensive village shop and post office selling most things you could need. Newport was only about 15 mins away by car. Overall we were extremely pleased with the property.

Well-appointed multigenerational holiday house

We were three generations including 2 very young children, aged 2&3, holidaying together. The house was spacious, light and very clean; the website description is very accurate. Every thing we needed was provided and in new or excellent condition. The garden was safe for the children. The village shop is within walking distance and has an impressive range and long opening hours. We found plenty to do nearby. Would definitely highly recommend!
