Extremely comfortable and unique room with loft, kitchen and living space. Excellent place to discover local culture, wineries, food and hiking in Douro valley.
An enjoyable stay and very homey/inviting.Be forewarned of loud church bells through the night ; I had earplugs so it did not matter. But it kept daughter awake. Being a lot of exposed stones (while rustic, charming, and very beautiful) making up the walls, there was a damp, strong smell upon arriving and throughout our brief stay. Not a surprise given the construction/build of earthen stonework. It was still a very clean place and enjoyable. Beds were very comfortable! We did no cooking, so cannot comment on the kitchen amenities but there seemed sufficient tools.Would stay here again!

This is a two level unit in an old village parish. Fortunately we were able to get some check-in help from the nearby government office. Staff was so nice! Dining options are limited. Fantastic views surround the village. Recommended!
This place was cute as a button! We loved our stay! The owner was very helpful when our directions took us to the wrong village. He immediately sent us the gps and all was good! Also, it was rainy and cold while we were there. The house had two heaters that provided adequate heat. Thank you for our delightful stay!!

Great people and village!
We met wonderful people in Barcos. From Jose’s extended family at the winery to a wonderful woman in the village that gave us two bottles of excellent homemade wine. Thanks to Teresa for the wine! This is a delightful country village to escape to. We went to Sabroso too. So peaceful. We are so happy we went.

Place was perfect for us. Plenty of room for two tucked away down a narrow village street. The host was great and set us up with a winery tour at Casa do Padrela nearby. Hiking trails out the door although some are on low traveled streets. Nearby Tabuaco has more modern amenities including a laundromat and some restaurants. (Tabua D'Aco is excellent). The views are just incredible.
The church bells going on at night can be noisy but it's part of the charm.

Adorable.

This traditional village in the Douro Valley was exquisite. Friendly locals who assisted us in finding house, beautiful views of valley and great walking. Jose called in to see us on arrival as we had got lost and he was worried. The house was clean and well equipped. The gesture of port wine was appreciated.
Alojamento impecável, muito bom gosto, limpeza e simpatia.
Recomendo a 100%

Jose & Ana are very friendly and helpful hosts. Their place has everything you need while vacationing in Duoro Valley. House is comfortable, lovely decorated and has lots of character.
